  1. Just leave Harnarayan Singh alone to continue his excellent hockey broadcasts. Please.
  2. You've just got to love all of the territory grabs taking place worldwide. Things worked out well the last time this sort of thing came into vogue.
  3. Show up to challenge it. They'll likely toss it. Or ignore it. Your name isn't connected to it in any way. Sucks for that other guy, though.
  4. Don't worry, folks, the government is here! After shuffling some deck chairs and spending money on new government jobs that didn't exist last week, they're sure to get us out of this mess soon! Seriously though, I hope this leads to better outcomes for struggling people. Throwing money at real estate deals didn't help anyone, but who could have possibly seen that coming? Here's hoping the new department can coordinate services more effectively than we have before. I doubt it, but here's hoping.
  5. It's just plain old racism, but is't just one asshole on twitter. We've got plenty of our own dumbasses along these lines. The interesting part is that Tech has way more Hispanic students than any other school in Texas. They've actively and purposefully recruited these students for years and have some kind of active designation from the feds as a Hispanic forward university, or something along those lines.
  6. ‘We are attorneys, not statisticians.’ Garza is a loathsome creature. Fucking hell. DA's are just politicians, and they all suck and lie with every breath, but holy shit he takes it to another level.
  7. That ship sailed, brother. The only difference now is oil money.
  8. Exactly. That would be a scenario where I could see some weird voodoo coming into play. At this stage, I think they took a big sigh of relief last night and won't be nearly as excited for the game on Friday. Even the fan base is deflated after the heightened expectations coming into the season. And honestly, they were a decent offensive coordinator away from having a great season, making this game a much more important one for both teams. It took him about half the year to realize he had a future NFL stud running back on the team that the offense should run through. It was bizarre to watch, but that's what they get for insisting on hiring an air raid coordinator. EDIT TO ADD: Their interior D-line in no joke at all, and will cause some issues on Friday, but this year's Tech team just hasn't put it together offensively to be a real threat in this game. They have a second-string QB with a gunslinger mentality but without the skills to back it up. Their o-line can run block but are terrible in pass protection. Receiving corp is the worst they've had since Mike Leach stepped foot on campus. No separation, ever. The larger issue is the OC isn't experienced enough to make adjustments based on situational football. He's just barely out of diapers and the only mentor he had was Kingsbury (lol).
  9. I don't think Tech will be as hyped up for this game as some think. Their expectations coming into this season were that this game would be a deciding factor in who goes to the championship game. After some terrible coaching followed by tons of QB injuries, they're thrilled (and surprised) to be bowl-eligible as of yesterday. This will be a letdown game, of a sort, for them. The Longhorns will roll over them with ease and the game will be over by early in the third.
  10. We can't even hire more lifeguards. It's certainly not a lack of tax collection causing these "shortages".
  11. I wish they mandated them, but it's effortless for the morons to opt out of it. They must sign an affidavit that they didn't vaccinate their kids for "Reasons of Conscience." That's it. That's all they have to do. Texas ranks among the highest in the nation for unvaccinated kids (and while I doubt a proper study could be done to prove it, I suspect we also rank among the highest for dumbasses per capita). This is why we have outbreaks of things like measles. If you think your public school kids are in an environment full of vaccinated children, think again. Only certain private schools truly mandate and enforce vaccinations.
  12. Also, you know, kids. School and all. All due respect, yadda yadda yadda, but this particular type of theater needs to end.
  13. A lot of it depends on where you are, including down to which driver's route you live on. UPS was absolute dog shit at our last house, but it was the driver. He was replaced, and things magically improved. We live at the end of a large neighborhood next to a green belt, where people come to dump all kinds of things (I once found a stolen car still running in gear jammed up on a tree). We see piles of Amazon packages with some regularity. Sometimes it's porch pirates dumping loot they don't want, but sometimes it's just a bunch of unopened boxes, where the driver clearly just said fuck it and dumped out whatever was left to go party or whatever. I've acted as a delivery driver for our neighborhood more than a couple of times. FedEx, I haven't had many problems with lately. Based on this thread I'll start preparing for the worst.
  14. For anyone reading/participating in this thread, for whatever reason, Nathan Fielder's new series on Showtime, "The Curse" may be of interest.
  15. Just another example of why the Grammy's are meaningless. They'll nominate anyone for just about anything. I think their strategy is that if they nominate enough people, the nominees will convince friends and family to actually tune in to watch or care in the slightest. Viral marketing, baby!
  16. Lake Travis, dude. This probably doesn't crack the top ten list of terrible shit those entitled little twats did to each other in a locker room. For anyone considering raising your children out there, I have two words: Baker Mayfield.
  17. Based on the thousands of them they ensure remain alive and go to homes that can't handle them in this city, it seems only fair that they deal with one at work all day.
  18. Wife is going to start a ketamine treatment for depression next month. I'm really hoping it helps.
  19. You would think some form of adverse possession would kick in at some point, but I can't be the first to consider that notion so I assume it has been tried and failed.
  20. My group chats seem boring compared to these stories. Maybe I should rethink my policy of refusing any communication with other parents on my kids' sports teams.
  21. I think you're correct. I'm also wondering why a youngin' like yourself is even reading this thread. All of this will be relatable for you in another couple of decades.
