I actually had to Google that. I thought that dude drove a Segway off a cliff or some shit?
Yikes, I have no idea. Your post reminded me of some of his marketing language when he had that huge build up to the announcement of the Segway. Dude knew how to build suspense.

This is my entire point. Why do you assume this? Because that is not the case. There's a reason bicycle and horse usage of roadways is codified in law. Several reasons actually, but one is because the laws are actually older than cars very existence.
I mean you can either articulate why you think the best usage case for roads should be car only, or just admit that you like to drive and want other road users to bend to your will.
Infrastructure usage is a wildly complex topic. There's been volumes of research and study globally over centuries about it and the average motorist hasn't got a clue to be honest. If it were up to me I'd can all personal vehicles in mnay areas, because they are the most insanely inefficient method of moving individual meatsacks around while completely fucking over commerce at the same time by choking our highways. All because everyone is a special snowflake whose fee fees get hurt if they have the slightest inconvenience, as evidenced by all the posts in this thread.
My companies contractors license is heavy highway. Ie. I literally build roads for a living. This doesn't make me omnipotent or infallible, but if you are going to have an opinion on how our Infrastructure is supposed to work you better be informed before making inane assertions, no matter how commonly held they may be.
I think you may have doxxed yourself, Dean Kamen.

Yeah, that's now how this works. The cyclists that were run over by this idiot were all obeying the rules of the road, were not hassling anybody, the kid was deliberately slowing down and fucking with them and blowing shit into their faces rather than going on about his day, and he was on his phone when he ran over the six, which he admitted to when he talked to the cops.
Most people on a jury have had to deal with some entitled asshole teenager at some point in their lives.
Counterpoint: Most people on a jury have had to deal with being stuck behind an entitled asshole cyclist at some point in their lives.

I'd fucking ban personal cars from downtowns for non residents if it were up to me.
I'm with you there.
As for the cyclist bitching, no one gives a shit about cyclists who are considerate and follow the law, just as no one gives a shit about auto drivers who are considerate and follow the law. No one notices either. It's the inconsiderate assholes that are the main part of the problem. The rest of the problem is that absolutely no one thinks they're the inconsiderate asshole, whether riding a bike or driving a car.
I, for one, just assume absolutely everyone (except me of course), regardless of mode of transportation, is a self absorbed piece of shit who will always choose to do the absolute dumbest, rudest, and most dangerous thing that can be done while moving about in public. It's surprisingly calming to approach the situation with complete equity.

There's no reason to, but I'm hoping that the vaccine approval for 5-11 gets us close to over the hump. The vaccination rates for 12-18 is abysmal, so this is probably wishful thinking. My kids will be in line day one. We've got hockey games to attend, by god.

This is the world we live in. Everyone is just selfish and no motorist thinks the laws of the road apply to them when it inconveniences them. Who is the asshole here? The cyclist is obeying the law or the motorist that is irritated
This attitude from cyclists is why everyone hates them. Cyclists following the rule of law along with observing basic human decency don't really piss people off, because they become nearly invisible when they do this. Cyclists breaking the law and/or choosing to ride on roads where no one can pass them all while sniffing their own farts makes them a ripe and fair target for complete derision.
Pointing out that there are bad drivers doesn't mean shit. Everyone hates bad drivers too. Trying to claim that cyclists all follow the law while auto drivers are the enemy is patently ridiculous. Most cyclists ride like dickheads, just like most automobile drivers drive like dickheads. The only difference is one of these two will come out ahead when someone makes a mistake. Common sense dictates that cyclists should watch the fuck out, but plenty of them ride as if they own the road. It's psycho behavior.

Coal rolling, or whatever the fuck that is called, is a dick move even if no one gets hurt. That kid should have been rolled right up into jail since people were injured.
// I've got zero beef with cyclists who utilize the millions of dollars worth of bike lanes we've built in Austin to accommodate people crazy enough to commute on a bike in Texas. It's the assholes who insist on riding on roads they shouldn't be on, even if they legally can, that piss me off. It seems like a daily occurrence that some jackwagon or two dressed in little girls' gymnastics outfits are slowly cruising down Old Spicewood Springs Road during rush hour, which has two lanes and no shoulder. Fuck every last asshole who does this. Just because you have a right to the road doesn't mean you should be on it. I don't care if you like the shade and the trees, it's not safe and you are fucking with everyone else's day when there are thousands of overpriced bike lanes all over this town for you and your twenty or thirty friends to enjoy. I guarantee every last one of these assholes would be screaming bloody murder if they were stuck driving behind a car moving 20 miles below the speed limit, but we're supposed to be nice to them because they have a spandex fetish and dysfunctional testicles. The reasoning of cyclists lines up perfectly with antivax idiots. Always screaming about their rights without ever considering whether the exercise thereof is causing others harm. I suspect we could find a similar form of brain damage in both groups if we fund a study. //
Sorry, I blacked out for a second. Fuck that diesel driving asshole kid!

So is it just as interesting that in a school district without a mask mandate, rates of covid are nearly zero? Think there is something in our water too?
Probably. Or maybe lack of reporting. Maybe natural immunity is built up in your community. Maybe the tooth fairy is real. Who knows?

No reason for this to be a close game. Talent difference alone is significant, although they're better than they were in the Kingsbury years and he managed to win twice in DKR. Their coach can recruit, but he can't manage a game for shit. If the game is close at all he'll fuck it up for his team at the end.
But: Tech defense looks much saltier than in the past, with a legit line and linebackers. The offense is suspect, even though they have a number of future NFL receivers. O line might be worse than UT. Tech can't win a shootout like they have in the past, but if they manage to stuff the UT run, which they are potentially capable of doing, it might be a long day.

Tell the world my story.
My heart is filled with joy when I see you here, as the brooks fill with water when the snow melts in the spring; and I feel glad, as the ponies do when the fresh grass starts in the beginning of the year. But there are things which you have said which I do not like. They were not sweet like sugar but bitter like gourds. If you had only had Moderna and masked up there might have been peace. But that which you now say is Pfizer is too small of a dose. The horse paste eaters have taken away the places where the grass grew the thickest and the timber was the best. You're doomed to die on the great grass seas of the Llano Estacado. Go in peace.

So now both sides of this mess can just say, "the other side didn't follow the science" and we just take that at face value? So "science" is now like "truth" or "facts"? It just doesn't exist any more except in the mind of the person bloviating? Asking for a friend.

We need to be shifting focus to get more vaccine to resource poor parts of the world where the virus is currently raging out of control. If we are going to see a variant that can escape the vaccines to a high degree it will likely be the result of the uncontrolled spread in these areas. This ends faster, we save more lives, and we can get the economy back to normal faster when all of humanity has access to the vaccine and not just us.

Go get 'em Colinda. Austin Energy deserves way more shit than they've received over what happened here. The state/ERCOT deserves plenty of blame, but AE hasn't caught near their fair share of hell. And I'm not worried about rate spikes to cover it. AE does that on a whim as it is.
WTF is wrong with people? 16-yo kid outside Houston tries to "roll coal" on cyclists, runs them over instead; walks free

I look forward to the SCOTUS decision that finally gives cyclists the protected class status they deserve. The application of strict scrutiny to some of these bullshit laws will finally even the playing field the way it should be. One bike lane for every auto lane!
