  1. Love me some ryes but never tried pikesville. Guess I’ve been missing out? HWDR and Sazerac are my go-tos

For the money, there aren’t much better than Pikesville. Hands down best Rye under $75.
  2. My first take on the Old Forester Rye:

Very floral on the nose and super sweet up front, but ends up with a ton of spice, black pepper along with a little Apple. Dry and a little short on the finish. But it’s very good. Especially for the price point it’s at. It’s no Pikesville, but at half the cost, it definitely needs to be in your bar if you like ryes.

  3. I have both Little Books and think they are both really good.  Chapter 2 is a lot different than 1.

Ch 2 is a blend of Kentucky Rye, Canadian Rye, and 40 yr old Canadian corn whiskey.   It is super sweet but very smooth for being over 100 proof.

Ch 1 is closer to what you'd expect a high rye bourbon to taste like.

Oat grain is overpriced. I have yet to find a WR MC worth the markup

Batch Proof was really good, but even then it wasn't quite worth the $$ they were asking.

  5. In case you missed it, here is what Corby said.

"We don't go in with any malicious intent. We go in to make people laugh." -- Corby Davidson, radio station KTCK, 1/30/19.

On Monday afternoon, 1/28/19, Corby heard it was the 33rd anniversary of the explosion of Space Shuttle Challenger, on which 7 astronauts died, including school teacher Christa McAuliffe.

At media night, Corby talked to Adam Butler, a player for the NE Patriots, about the Challenger Disaster. Corby told Butler jokes about Christa McAuliffe. Butler didn't think they were funny. "That's kind of messed up, don't you think?" said Butler after hearing Corby's second McAuliffe joke. After Corby told Butler a third McAuliffe joke, and Butler walked off.

Corby went on to another football player and started asking the player about cigarettes. A security officer in a red shirt walked up and got in Corby's face and said, "You need to leave." The security guy got on his walkie-talkie and said "The media member is being escorted out for asking inappropriate questions." Then Corby was required to meet with the security guy's supervisor.

Security said, "The Patriots personnel came to me and told me they wanted you removed for asking inappropriate questions about the space shuttle disaster." Security told Corby not to leave and that the Atlanta Police Department was on its way. The cops arrived.

Corby complied. "I didn't want to be the guy that launched The Ticket out of the Super Bowl."

Corby explained to the Atlanta police about how they tell space shuttle jokes at The Ticket. The police officer asked what else happened. "What else did you do?" asked the cop. "Nothing," responded Corby. The cop said he had nothing else to say and was "good here." Atlanta cops have more serious issues to attend to than space shuttle jokes.

Corby says he told security he works for KRLD. Security told him not to leave through the normal exit. Corby left through some scary back alley.

Going to Vegas next weekend and want to try this out. I'm confused about the above schedule. Take the 6-12-30. How do you get to 30? Wouldn't a 6/8 hit with $12 down pay out $14. putting you at $26?

Or the 5-15-35 on 5/9 - how are you getting to $15? Wouldn't the first hit pay $7, putting you at $12?

Image result for i was told there would be no math

Wife and I were talking a bit ago; we are going later this summer and one of the things we do every trip is eat at a different steak house.  We've done Prime, SW, etc and this trip, I told her I'd like to try The Steakhouse at Circus Circus, but can also go someplace else.

I've read reviews and whatnot, and we've been to Circus Circus so we know what to expect from a casino/ambiance standpoint, but have any Surly folk dined at this place?

Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris is great.
