If you ride share, bring lube. It’s stupid expensive after concerts out there. Are games better?

It is really fun when the sun is fucking the teams also. Dumb ass field orientation especially for teams that are not used to it

shouldn't be an issue with an 11:00 kickoff.   still don't know wtf Jerry was thinking though.  It affects both teams on 3pm kickoffs.

  3. My wife and my 20 year old niece aren't speaking and the wife has put her foot down that she's not allowed in our house.  That means that my mother and her husband aren't coming so half the family isn't alienated.  So now nobody is coming.  I take that as a fucking win!  And we were already planning on having a 2nd thanksgiving at the MIL's house on Saturday so I am off the hook on cooking tomorrow.  I plan on drinking bourbon all day and watching football.   Should be a great day.  :)

Thanks for posting. Was wondering how much Balcones made/has left for this weekend. May drive over there

They bottled 500 of the wheated.  It's only a 3 barrel blend.

As expected this has the familiar Balcones profile but it’s very sweet. And for being 122 proof, extremely smooth. Big vanilla bomb on the front end and spice on the finish.
Not sure if I would buy another bottle with it being $80 but I’m definitely going to enjoy this while I have it.

    Oh and hello...$24, don’t mind if I do. Thanks Spec’s. :)

Decades is a nice release by Jimmy and Eddie, who both have a combined 95 years of distilling experience.  Bruce, on the other hand, has been traveling the country as a WT ambassador for the past few years and had been stationed in Austin.  He’s back in Lexington now and is being shackled to the distillery to start learning the ropes.  Give the guy another 10-15yrs before calling him a distiller.

    username checks out.   :)

  7. Yeah I don’t think I’ve ever had an NCF bottle before. How much have I been missing out?

I see that WTMK for sale regularly but don’t know enough about it to fork over that kind of cash to make a purchase

I grabbed it for $70, figured wth.
It’s signed by Bruce Russell, Jimmy’s grandson who is a distiller at WT now.

  8. Heading down to Austin for the game on Saturday and doing the Balcones tour on the way.  They are releasing their Wheated Bourbon on Friday so planning on grabbing a bottle or 2 at the distillery.  Looking forward to the tour.

  9. Earlier in the thread I had asked the board the question of building the best stocked home bar. And though I spent far more then I should have I now have a nicely stocked bar that I believe can accommodate almost anyone’s pallet.
Unfortunately the side effect of this adventure has been that I have turned into a damn collector. And really don’t like busting the seal on any expensive bottle unless I have two. I treat the damn bottles like they are Fabrege’ eggs. And don’t have enough years in front of me to drink it all.
But now that I am bitten by the collector bug and my ass is constantly out hunting anything you guys post that I either don’t have, or have never seen. This is not how I thought my retirement would go.
Collecting is a bad habit. You don’t even enjoy the very thing the interested you in the first place. Finding it has replaced drinking it.

All you have to do is open them. Then you won’t worry about drinking them.
Bottles aren’t meant to stay sealed. Open them.
    Share them and enjoy.

  10. Fucking vomit:
Jerry Jones on Cowboys win over Philadelphia: “When you’re feeling low & you’re seeing the Grim Reaper & then come in & have your team perform the way these guys did, I promise you it’s a special feeling. I won’t need any wings on that airplane getting back to Dallas.”

That tells you all you need to know for the rest of the season.
    Status quo.
