  1. My favorite thing about all the anti-DEI folks voting for Trump is that they're the clearest examples possible of why DEI programs are needed, because they're demonstrating concrete proof of how powerful white privilege still is in America. Donald Trump very clearly doesn't have a fully functioning human brain. I'm not even talking about the clear dementia he's sinking deeper into, I'm talking about the fact that he's always been dumber than most dogs. He lacks object permanence and seriously thinks that reality exists only of what is immediately around him at any time and what he sees on TV. He thought Vince McMahon died in a fucking car explosion that was staged for WWF. If you tried playing hide and seek with him and covered his eyes, he'd assume you had disappeared from existence. He's never been a real businessman. He inherited a business and had enough people around him who knew how to operate it just well enough to keep it afloat some of the time. Meanwhile he LARPed his idea of a tough businessman he got from TV, like how Moo Deng pretends to be chewing because she's mimicking her mom eating. He has no idea what abortion is, he just knows people around him hated Roe and used the phrase "pro-life" which he subconsciously understood to be something positive, so he'd say shit like this: That's not someone with an actual functioning human brain. That's a dog's brain that learned how to say roughly half a dozen superlative adjectives. Yet a majority of white men in this country think he's more qualified than Kamala Harris and want to give him the nuclear codes without even putting the padded walls of real adults around him this time. You couldn't possibly invent a better example of white privilege.
  2. Nate Silver almost certainly has a large bet on Kamala winning and has been using his model to move the line in betting markets toward Trump to get him a bigger payout.
  3. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense given how badly he handled the pandemic, but it likely helped him electorally in 2020.
  4. What are the odds Elon has quote tweeted this?
  5. My only critique of this is it gives Trump too much credit to say he's self-interested. He's not conscious enough to be self-interested. He's closer to a rabid animal than a person capable of normal thought. To the extent he can even express an idea that's bigger than "me horny," it's not his own idea or even something he's capable of understanding, but something he instinctively deploys as a tool to serve his immediate ego.
  6. C'mon Helo, tell us she's got no shot at Florida.
  7. Naw, if that’s the map scotus is jumping in to try to steal this shit. That’s a nightmare scenario right there. It ain’t happening though because we’re gonna kick the shit out of them and sweep the swing states.
  8. This is the purest manifestation of fascism. These people hate freedom because they hate the concept of self determination. The modern world is too scary for them and they need someone to tell them what to do and make it feel like it did when they were children. They feel deep into their fucking bone marrow that they need a king and if they need a king everyone else obviously does too.
  9. Video of him with a live boy or dead girl might also do it, but yeah him groping a teenage girl isn’t gonna move the needle with Republican voters.
  10. I think when Trump loses this time, those who want to move on from him are going to let loose with a flood of behind-the-scenes stories about how badly Trump is deteriorating. Like the stories about Biden, but much more humiliating (he's pretty obviously shitting himself, for one). And he's not really in good enough shape to rebut them convincingly. Obviously, there will be a ton of MAGA freaks who just don't believe them and he won't really lose power until someone else takes his supporters from him, but the public pressure will worsen his deterioration. I think the odds are better than even now that he's dead by the time 2028 rolls around.
  11. "No policies" *states a border policy* The aristocrats!
  12. The Branch Davidians stopped being a problem when Koresh died because pretty much all of them died with him. There's a chance that the GOP shifts back to something saner if Trump loses again or, more likely, when he finally dies. And there's a good chance nobody can really step into his shoes and politically organize the same forces that he did. But they're mainstream now. "Conservatism" is Trumpism and many of them want violence. They're not going to deradicalize. Our best hope is probably that a group of them further radicalizes as their ability to win elections shrinks, that they attempt a violent coup, and that they all get killed. Because the alternative is probably a very long campaign of "lone wolf" style terrorism that we all just live with.
  13. We're gonna be looking back at Snake Diggity as a prophet.
  14. Hey, I'm as surprised as you are. I think with he and Liz it has more to do with personal animosities than any real ideological problem with fascism.
  15. New York conservative Dem who thinks he got cancelled by the woke mob? This was inevitable as the sunrise.
  16. Lol, Jordan Peterson too. Oh noes, that's getting pretty close to Benny Shaps. I'd hate to see him arrested for being an unregistered foreign agent.
  17. Can't have a popular front against fascism without a lot of people who don't like each other allying together to defeat the fascists. This isn't really that hard to understand for anyone who hasn't suffered a very serious TBI.
  18. Your girl supported Assad gassing civilians. Get the fuck out of here with your nonsense.
  19. Can't wait for the media to completely fail in its responsibility to inform Americans that the GOP's plan is very obviously to use bullshit polls to justify a refusal to accept the loss and attempt to steal it again.
  20. Man, washpark didn't exactly cover himself in glory in this thread did he?
