  1. Don't forget the funniest: - used chatGPT to write his book
  2. Oh look, a thread is titled “social media morons” and pronghorn comes sprinting in like he’s Usain Bolt.
  3. Yordan’s next homer at home will come in 2025.
  4. Presumably while drinking alone on a Thursday evening.
  5. That has been the case for literally every single second the United States of America has existed. Republican policies exacerbate the problems that contribute to those feelings, Democratic policies (usually) ameliorate them.
  6. Ana, I'll make the mistake of asking you a serious question. How do you think "Bidenomics" compares to the economic policies of every Republican president of the past 40 years?
  7. I could’ve looked that bad at the plate.
  8. “How could Nixon have won?! I don’t know anyone who voted for him!”
  9. We get it man, you want to fuck your car. But that’s the type of thing you really should keep to yourself.
  10. From today’s NY Times “here’s what we would ask Kamala if she weren’t too scared to sit for an interview” piece: “What do you think is secretly super special about Trump that appeals to so many totally not racist true Americans? And a follow up? Can you convince us that you don’t totally suck shit being that you’re an uppity black woman who can’t connect with middle America?”
  11. She's always been very conservative, but there's no functional Republican party in Hawaii so she sort of pretended to be progressive for a little bit until she could get her name out there in front of her preferred constituency.
  12. Tulsi endorses Trump. Goddamn, the last month or so has just been one "Wildcat was right!" story after another. It feels so good.
  13. Even a statute that it as clear as it can possibly be when written will become unclear over time, because language evolves. It's not math, no matter how much you wish it were. Even if you got rid of all the sausage making and could just hand the pen to one brilliant lawyer, there is not and will never be a way for that lawyer to craft a statute so perfectly that it wouldn't be susceptible to bad faith arguments about how it actually means the opposite of what it says if a judge is sympathetic to those arguments.
  14. Pretty good coincidence that this great Rick Pearlstein piece on flip flopping and effective political communication just dropped yesterday:
  15. I'm just saying that you don't in fact need to continually play devil's advocate and pretend as if the real problem is that a legislature wasn't clear enough with its language. Legislation not being sufficiently clear is a thing, sure, but that's more just a function of how language works than it even is about legislative sloppiness. Saying that a piece of legislation could be a little more clear is like saying the sky is blue or water is wet. You know as well as any of us that even when a law is crystal fucking clear a Republican judge can and will still ignore the clear meaning if they want to do so.
  16. At this point it feels like the training staff must be injuring guys on purpose.
  17. When Kamala is president it’s going to be law that we get to kick the shit out of internet trolls every day.
  18. Roy Cooper definitely has football coach vibes.
  19. Fuck me I can’t believe I forgot about this. I fail so hard.
