  1. From the actual transcript: The fact that he speaks gibberish and tries to have it both ways doesn't save him. He called people in the crowd from the prior night, people who again chanted "blood and soil" and "jews will not replace us" very fine people. Fucking fight me.
  2. Oh sure, he called a crowd that was literally nothing but neonazis very fine people, but he also said he condemns neo nazis so he's in the clear! I swear to god if I ever encounter someone try this bullshit in person I'm going to get myself arrested.
  3. Yes he did. He specifically said there were fine people in the crowd the night before the day that Heather Heyer was murdered. The crowd that marched carrying tiki torches while shooting “blood and soil” and “Jews will not replace us.” Those are who he called very fine people.
  4. They didn't shake hands before the last debate, I don't see why they would now.
  5. He’s parroting Robert Hur’s bullshit lie about Biden not remembering when Beau died.
  6. They're holding it for their last release day because they want to delay the trial as long as they can.
  7. Imagine not only thinking some dumb shit like this but actually posting it on this here internet.
  8. It’s so cool and good that after all the recent scrutiny on the bribes SCOTUS justices have received we get this decision saying bribery is fine, actually.
  9. Naw, IMC goes way back. He's been this big a loser since long before he'd ever even heard of Elon.
  10. Did you get confused which thread you were posting in?
  11. On the plus side, maybe we won’t have to see Poe around here anymore.
  12. Most states began requiring flow restrictors in water faucets some time in the 1990s. His brain is typically stuck in the 90s, so when it glitches he probably defaults to remembering some conversation he had with someone who was bitching about them in like 1994.
  13. The nazis didn't make trains run on time either. You've bought into a myth about nazis that was generated decades after they'd been defeated because it made for more exciting drama in stories. Man, talk about timing. Not even Biden's campaign thinks Florida is in play:
  14. He is worse than Hegar, who at least went through the motions. I'm not sure he's even doing that.
  15. C'mon man. There's optimism and then there's whatever this is.
  16. You're not wrong, but Allred hasn't just run a bad campaign. He quite literally hasn't run a campaign, as far as anyone can see. It's some real classic Texas Dem "win the nomination and then give up" shit.
  17. And yet we're on the precipice of an openly fascist candidate who is openly saying he wants to be a dictator and deport 20 million people getting elected President. Economic issues can be exploited by fascists to aid in recruitment, but it's not what fuels fascism. Fascism is, more than anything, a psychological phenomenon. Italy didn't need the great depression for Mussolini to rise to power, he marched on Rome nearly a decade before the great depression began. What all fascists have in common is the ability to divide their opposition and exploit literally whatever issues exist to get enough people on their side for just long enough for them to take power. We have more than enough issues for the fascists to exploit. You're looking for reasons that give you some hope for why it can't happen here. That's what the fascists want people to do, because everyone thinking it can't happen here is the only way they have any opportunity to actually succeed. The nazis didn't take power with a majority, hell they didn't even win 40% of the vote in 1932. Trump has more support right now than the nazis did when they took power. That should be more than enough for people to realize that it can happen here and the fact that so many people are still in denial is fucking terrifying.
  18. Yes man, it is a defense. When someone is criticizing SCOTUS for acting quickly on one case to help Trump and delaying as long as they can on another case to help him (particularly when the one they acted quickly on was actually a question of first impression and the one they're delaying is not and was already addressed to any reasonable judge's complete satisfaction by the appellate court), pointing out distinctions between the cases (which will literally, 100% of the time, always exist) as an alternate explanation for their delay is defending them. And I really don't know how to express how much I hate the "who cares? It's not like it would even matter" mindset. I'm pretty cynical about the American voting public, particularly undecided voters, but I do think there are millions of undecided voters who would decide for sure they won't vote for him if he were to be convicted of crimes related to January 6th or of stealing nuclear secrets. They're still undecided for hundreds of reasons, but particularly because they don't pay constant attention to politics and thus don't really know much detail about any of Trump's million scandals. They don't know what you know. The Republicans on SCOTUS know this. They know delaying their decision on immunity, and then punting back to the district court for specific determinations as to whether all of Trump's acts at issue were public or private acts, will delay the trial until after the election. They are very fucking clearly doing this because they do not want undecided voters to see him get convicted of Jan 6th shit or of stealing nuclear secrets before the fucking election! For you to brush this behavior off as insignificant reveals a deep disdain for American democracy, the same disdain they have.
