  1. It’s not like his “yes I agree we should be a theocracy” comments are completely disconnected from his flying the appeal to heaven flag.
  2. Please don't make me explain how the electoral college works.
  3. If Dick Durbin refuses to do anything about Alito at this point he needs to be primaried.
  4. I honestly don't think talking about it at all can help Biden, his position is just a huge fucking loser with part of the base and he's got to figure out another way to deal with it. "Trump will be worse on it" isn't very persuasive to people who think Biden is supporting a genocide. Maybe he can message it somewhat orthogonally by highlighting the threat Trump and his base pose to all other religious and non-religious people who don't align with them, but even that I think is fairly unlikely to persuade these people. The good news is they're only really a substantial voting block in Michigan (and maybe to a smaller extent in Wisconsin?) and hopefully their loss can be offset with some white working class gains by highlighting all the success his policies have had bringing jobs back.
  5. To be fair, we've all been able to see Incredulity's posts since this board started.
  6. You would think Pronghorn would be great friends with people who want to see Biden dead.
  7. If Alito and Thomas want to still decide cases from a federal prison I guess I would be ok with that.
  8. Dick Durbin and the Dems on the Senate Judiciary Committee are fucking the dog so hard on this. They should be loudly investigating every failed disclosure as a potential crime (because each is a crime), subpoenaing Thomas and Alito (and others if they find anything remotely suspicious), holding public hearings when the justices refuse to show up, and making criminal referrals to the DOJ. Shit, Republicans do that for fake crimes they've invented in their heads, Dems should absolutely do it for real crimes committed by fucking SCOTUS justices. And it'd be incredibly easy. It's not like Thomas and Alito have done a good job covering their tracks, these assholes have thought they're above the law for fucking decades and been acting like it the whole time. But the Dems are too chickenshit to do actual politics, even when it would be such an easy issue to get big political wins on.
  9. What can I say? You’ve been particularly entertaining this week.
  10. Y'all gotta trust Rex on this, his history is unassailable.
  11. Alito’s and Scalia’s reporting is obviously bullshit, too, given what we know of their vacation habits.
  12. Rex is actually a million monkeys at typewriters and whenever they randomly generate a few actual sentences Surly's greatest asshole hits "submit reply."
  13. I'm becoming more and more sure that Rex is illiterate.
  14. Esto. The development of the printing press helped contribute to enormous social upheavals and previously unimaginable levels of violence by people against their fellow man. It's also very arguably the basis for all human progress since it was invented until at least our current technological revolution. There's not really any comprehensible way to weigh the benefits and the harms.
  15. The libertarian likes the IMF now. Lol.
  16. Sure as shit doesn't sound like he's feeling any remorse. They should hit him with all 30 years.
  17. Four Hostages Taken Alive to Gaza Were Killed, Possibly by IDF Fire:
  18. Not SCOTUS, exactly, but: How a Luxury Trip for Trump Judges Doomed the Federal Mask Mandate: You mean to tell me legal rulings about the mask mandate may not have been on the up and up? We're going to find out some time in the next five years that these Trump judges aren't even writing their own opinions, but outsourcing them to lobbying groups like this.
  19. Mexico has a Jewish president now? The GOP is about to turn their "Soros is driving illegal immigration to America!" propaganda up to 11.
  20. It's simple. They'll say Presidents get immunity for "official acts" and they don't for acts that aren't official acts. Well what qualifies as an official act? That'll be for them to decide.
