  1. All this "the race would've been over if Biden had won the debate" shit is literally insane. Did you people just wake up from a fifty year coma?
  2. The inescapable conclusion is that the justices in the majority actually want Trump to exterminate their political opponents.
  3. No, that's absolutely what this case was about. It about whether being too poor to afford shelter and having nowhere else to go could be penalized as a crime. The dissenters thought it couldn't and you said that sent a shiver down your spine.
  4. Man, they came pretty close to openly saying Trump could have his political opponents assassinated.
  5. Scalia?
  6. Yup. Also, they went way out of their way to bless basically anything Trump wants to do to his enemies or to enrich himself if he wins in November.
  7. Today more than ever, homelessness isn't even about mental illness or substance abuse it's just about poverty. Because there's like five cities that have actually built enough housing to accommodate the growth they've seen in the past decade. It's estimated that anywhere from 40 to 60% of homeless people nationwide have jobs but still can't afford shelter. This specific case that we're discussing was about whether homeless people can be jailed for camping when there are no homeless shelters to go to. I think it's inhuman and un-American to throw someone in jail simply because they can't afford rent and have nowhere to go. Called it.
  8. The idea that being too poor to own a home couldn’t be made a criminal offense sent shivers down your spine?
  9. That's true, but not my point. Even if Congress were better functioning and passing "less ambiguous" regulations, this SCOTUS would still strike them down. These newest decisions barely pretend to be law. They're not even telling Congress what the bar is or how they can meet it. It's purely vibes based "we know what's kosher when we see it (and that's only those regulations passed by a Republican president that we're ideologically cool with)." They're the Knights who say Ni.
  10. Those of you who still think Congress can just fix whatever SCOTUS has broken still don’t understand the conservative majority’s whole deal.
  11. The only remotely realistic option is Harris. Do you seriously think that five days from now you’ll want Harris to be the nominee over Biden?
  12. There is absolutely no scenario where any back room deal to replace Biden doesn’t blow up the fucking campaign. He cost himself 1% support with the worst debate performance imaginable. You pussies need to calm the fuck down and stop pretending this is an episode of the west wing.
  13. Ump is on the take.
  14. A lot of yall keep saying this because yall have apparently gone insane.
  15. The Times hates Biden (more specifically, its owner hates Biden) and has been openly rooting for Trump for months. This shouldn't be surprising.
  16. He wasn't one of my top two choices but looking back at how close it was, I feel fairly confident that none of the other candidates would've beaten Trump.
  17. It shouldn't have been close in 2016 or 2020 either (and the GOP shouldn't control nearly as many states as it does and it shouldn't have won the House in 2022). But it is, because we're a very divided country and there's a whole lot of stupid assholes we share it with.
  18. This was always going to be a close election. Welcome to reality.
  19. Y’all bitches need to be cool, like I said.
  20. 99 justices. Anyone who will settle for fewer is a coward.
  21. I think a majority of the people who've already been prosecuted were only hit with the obstruction charge. If it does nothing else, this will impair the DOJ's ability to focus on other shit while they've gotta deal with a few hundred different appeals that arise out of this now.
  22. Why are you talking about the free world to someone who openly says we should have a monarch?
  23. It's amazing. No matter how many times they see some seemingly-amazing political candidate step out onto the national stage and immediately fall flat on their face, people just refuse to learn how the real world actually works.
  24. We've been there for awhile already. We're going somewhere much worse now.
  25. It's just a total coincidence that they've also now arrogated all federal regulatory authority to themselves.
