Surly go fund me is in the works here for sure.
  2. Having grown up in Corpus and lived there until 1974, Port A is near and dear to my heart, and kudos for taking her to Shorty's. Looks like heaven in these pictures and bring back many fond memories.

And this wins the internet today. Even though scanning a menu into said phone is an option at may places, missing the latest facebook post or responding to the latest tweet with infinite wisdom takes priority. 😈
  4. So many caption possibilities here: "GOING TO THE VET???? I'll just hide here, they'll never find me!"
  5. Never been to Derek Allan's place, but when we drove past Friday afternoon, told the wife we need to check it out. Sounds like urgency level just went to defcon 5 and it might be too late.
  6. Good doggo Rini-you gave it all you had to give here and now are free to celebrate with your new friends for eternity. Hugs to you Penelope-whenever I read these posts, I am always reminded about the four times I have had to do the responsible thing for my canine kid, and it gets real dusty right after.
  7. Correct.
  8. It's bad enough having to fill out all of the paperwork required to visit Canada before you can enter, but now with the national airline being so unreliable, it becomes even more of a hassle. Our tour company has not been very helpful either with suggestions which makes this upcoming trip feel more like an antacid commercial than anticipated vacation.
  9. A good man that Robbie. My wife worked with his wife Yvonne for several years and got to know him. Miss the Bucket.
  10. NOT what I wanted to hear but got an email from AC yesterday describing their excuses for delays, cancellations, etc. Reminds me of the thoughts and prayers line that does victims no good when the problem is not fully addressed. We are scheduled to fly into Montreal and board a train for a seven day trip across eastern Canada on the 25th. Am going to be watching the flight to see if it completes in the weeks prior to our departure. Also, this little information might have something to do with the "labour shortage & beyond our control" bullshit: https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/air-canada-layoffs-1.5572596
  11. Griff's gonna have to up their game sounds like. Always enjoy the 377 location in Granbury and now will check out this one.
  12. Outstanding pic. The allied effort to get this done and the failure of the axis to discern the ruse still is so amazing to me.
  13. We parked in the Christ Chapel parking lot closest to I-30 and Mongomery at 8:30pm. Were able to see the Colonial/Rivercrest/Concerts in the Garden fireworks and get out via the tollway in 15 minutes. Saw six firetrucks rushing toward downtown and heard about the fire on the Trinity. Got home just in time to hear armageddon from 10pm until after 2am all around us. Nextdoor is littered with stories/pictures of fires burning in surrounding neighborhoods. Guess it's going to take a home getting burnt up to get the sale of pyrotechnics outlawed, which is more effective than issuing a ban that is not going to be enforced.

I'm really surprised at those prices, considering I just dropped $50 at Heim here in FW for two sliced brisket sammiches, two sides, and one soft drink. Will make a point of stopping here next time I'm down that way
  15. Corpus Christi Home of the original Whataburger-I ate there as a kid when it was a stand and Dobson was working the grill Snapka's-mentioned previously, still drive in service Pick's-RIP, one on Ayres across from Butterkrust Bakery, and downtown drive in.

Loved Cottons back in my days growing up in CC in the 60's. Roys was also a regular stop.
  17. Mike was a friend and Fort Worth treasure. EVERY Saturday, especially when Peter Schroeder sold the Old Neighborhood Grill, the wife and I would meet another couple for breakfast. Mike always came by our table, had some of the worst Dad jokes which he offered, and was never pretentious/over inflated ego/dollar driven. Sadly, he sold in April but continued to come down frequently and didn't live long enough after the sale to enjoy his retirement. I shall miss seeing him but will enjoy telling stories at his memorial.
  18. "If you have decided you want what we have, and are willing TO GO TO ANY LENGTHS,"-this is from the Big Book, chapter 5, pertaining to How It Works. If this is your first attempt at stopping drinking, I would suggest you attend meetings in person. But if once in a while you can't make it, Zoom meetings are better than no meeting. Highly agree with Kenny regarding the eye to eye and contact you will feel in the rooms that isn't quite the same on a computer screen. Keep coming back, it works, IF you work it.
  19. The Granbury location has never disappointed. Hope the FW location and Burleson get up to speed.
  20. 28th Street location was in my rotation when working on the northside. Now going to W. Cleburne close to the home.
  21. On my bucket list but having to wait till Tuesday since they are closed on Monday. Drew's has been in business on the west side of FW a long time, maybe second only to Zeke's, another longtime west side favorite.
  22. Inquiring minds want to know, Old High or Rider?
  23. Does she have any brothers who are in middle school that play offensive line? Asking for a friend.

That'll preach in the most holy of barbecue restaurants.
  25. Get there. When the Parker County peaches arrive, their peach custard is the shit.
