  1. That's too kind-made the top five of worst movies of all time list imho.🤮
  2. Went there two weeks ago on Sunday and I'd put the average at 65 or more. But the chocolate and coconut pie they serve requires you order BEFORE ordering your meal because it is gone quickly and is outstanding. Like Carshon's, the chocolate filling is warm when served.
  3. That is all that had to be said. The outcome was inevitable.
  4. The to go order or door dash would be a better option here methinks.
  5. I miss Campo Verde on Camp Bowie. Driving east to the other location is a PITA, but always stop there when in the hood.
  6. That looks says 17-7 UTSA. Where's the follow up photo after the final gun?
  7. I didn't go to a dentist for a while after viewing.
  8. Having grown up in Corpus Christi two blocks from the original WB, I suffer greatly from good old days syndrome when I remember watching the greatness being prepared in front of me while sipping on a root beer. Good times going to the Ayers theatre on Saturdays for the double feature when in between shows, there were 10 kids chosen to compete in a Whataburger eating contest (humblebrag-NEVER lost when chosen!!). The prize was a coupon for a free meal for your family. And how can it be that FW is #3 on the worst rating list-there isn't a decent WB restaurant in Tarrant County, they all suck.
  9. Oldman in Tinker,Tailor,Soldier, Spy was amazing, but his portrayal of Churchill was beyond that. Great movie with excellent acting.

It was a short drive from Corpus that my dad and I made with regularity, and your description was spot on.

FIFY. Probably an unintentional oversight because their product is so far below those others listed imho. Worked on the Northside for 21 years and the times I went there when invited by my boss never impressed.
  12. This is a regular go to for us-the fajitas are excellent and priced below every other restaurant in FW.
  13. Even better than the TCU/Texas fan shop? NO WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY🤣
  14. They've got that fu(k around and find out swagger down pat.
  15. Never knew about profiteering from wars/disasters by the Red Cross. All I was ever taught usually had something to do with a huge ship with a red cross on it going somewhere to inoculate a group of third world people, treat the sick, etc. Never a word was mentioned about charging soldiers for basic needs, which puts them in the lowest level of Dante's inferno imho. That is fu(ked up X100.

    So you're saying they aren't on Angie's list, huh?🤣

Outstanding explanation of a once small time pitmaster and his wife who did what most of us would have done if faced with the same offer vs. the backbreaking daily grind of trying to make a living/have a life outside the restaurant. I will say that the Heim location on White Settlement has been consistently stellar every time I have been there, but you point is valid regarding the song of the siren (empire/$$$) and the lure of being able to not have to work the hours necessary to maintain a reputation that began when trying to be recognized in the first place. Hope you are proven wrong regarding Hurtado/Goldee's but history has proven you are probably correct here. One thing has proven to be true-there is no shortage of upcoming hopefuls in the barbecue arena here in DFW and Texas. As some of the formerly famous fade, new stars have their moment of recognition (still wish Goldee's had never been discovered by TM).
  18. Holy mother of God I would murder this masterpiece.

We will connect the next time you are in FW I hope (and I won't be chairing our zoom meeting!). Spoke to several of the guys who enjoyed meeting you. The 7am meeting continues to be just what I need each day to get my focus on what is important in the day ahead.

We had three days in QC and wish we had just come here for the entire 10 days we have been in Canada. The streets are alive with outdoor dining options and it truly does feel like Europe in so many ways. The greatest benefit we enjoyed was when two of our tours were cancelled due to the Pope being in town to speak. This allowed us to take our time seeing Montmorency falls, a river cruise down the St. Lawrence, and even got a video of the Pope when he passed by me on his way to the Fontenac. And don't even get me started on the weather-highs of 75-82/lows of 62-66, sheeeeeeit.
  21. FIFY, 'cuz they emailed me and told me to.😎
  22. Or the next great band name.
  23. There would never be a quorum, therefore no vote.
  24. That would require cooperation between the confederacy of dunces who are elected. Better chances of winning the lottery, but I agree with your premise.
  25. Having grown up in Corpus, Port A was a good second home and I know she rests easy. You did good and she is free to enjoy time with her sister while waiting for you to join them someday.
