  1. I had completely forgotten about that location but visited there numerous times in the late 70's.
  2. It was the 2004 game but your point is well taken. 4th and 18 when Vince delivered in Lawrence.
  3. Dead heat for which is worse-Texas Defense/Ahmad Brooks announcing. Can't decide whether to jab the ice pick in my eyes or ears.
  4. 22.5 was on sale today at Nebraska Furniture Mart for $435.
  5. Pooka chanelling Darren Sproles and making this defense look like six man football.
  6. The Bud Kennedy post I saw about it said that they were getting close. But it didn't have a date. BBQ on the Brazos opens Tuesday at 10 am according to Allen Sanford, Pitmaster John Sanford's brother.
  7. Do yourself a favor-go on a Saturday, have a Reuben and a slice of the pie of the day, chocolate meringue(the filling is warmed before serving and is the sheeeeeit!!!) Also love their chili. Note-cash or checks only. I have enjoyed the food at Carshon's for thirty years and bet you will be glad when you go.
  8. Jim Schusler had a great trio at one time-the blues bar on Henderson, the Hideaway on w. 7th, and the oyster bar on university. Spent many a good night at all of these and the chili at the Oyster Bar is definitely is not to be missed. The Richlieu Grill in downtown had the best in FW back in the 70's and JJ's is on par with their quality, imho.
  9. Sounds to me that paying the $7.73 in person and asking them to waive the 250. Your past record of having paid your charges for 9 years should be enough to convince a customer service rep to remove it and restore your right to drive the CTP and other toll roads. If that doesn't work, ask to see someone who will be reasonable. Pain in the ass having to try to decipher their worthless website but even more having something from your past from 9 years ago suddenly impact your driving. Let us know what happens and call if you need bail.
  10. The only complaint I have about this outstanding show. There should be a 12 step program for this addiction-how much is enough, just a little more. I find myself jonesing immediately after the sixth episode ends each season, which is what I guess the producers are going for.
  11. This happens regularly on the 28th street location when ordering a Whataburger. I order the special burgers as they don't seem to be cooked until ordered, like the old days when you had to wait for an order.
  12. Ate a pound of panther city ribs on Friday-gonna do this again this week. Haven't made it out to Sanford's place on the circle yet, but panther city has my vote as best in FW at present.
  13. I like the Astros in 5.
  14. Still in business on Camp Bowie next to the Ridglea Theatre.
  15. Having left there in '74, it's not a surprise that some things in the old hometown haven't changed.
  16. Agree. This tripe replaced Paul Blart on the top of my worst movie ever made list.
  17. Gotta love the attitude he runs with along with his willingness to do whatever can help the team at rb. There is a definite uptick in the run game when he gets carries that is missing with our other backs.
  18. Some local metroplex stud kicker should come to the Hilltop. The special teams play by both teams was turrible. So glad it was so Shane could throw the perfect pass in the 3rd OT for the win. Wishing him all good things and continued success.
  19. It was in late August iirc. I was on the tollway at 6am and saw the smoke/flames pouring out of it along with numerous FW firetrucks.
  20. Wife and I got free tix to see Dorothy & Toto play the Froggies so we went. Had a ptsd flashback to 2015 where Texas trailed 30-0 after 1 quarter. KU had 49 yards at halftime, 0-10 on 3rd down, and TCU looked like Alabama leading 38-0 at the half. We left with 7:15 left in the 2nd qtr and proceeded to Los Vaqueros to lunch and air conditioned game watching. Hopeless is being kind to the Jayhawks-turrrible is more like it.
  21. We should have a Fake Michael Irvin announcing these closures the same way the school closures are done.
