  1. The black forest will cause you to need a 12 step program-it is so ADDICTIVE!
  2. Have had the #1 at both locations and have never been disappointed. Go to the River Oaks location weekly from the Northside.
  3. $10m a year just doesn't get you much anymore. Those Aggy tears are tasty.
  4. Aggie does not handle any of the Tigers they face this year. Clemson-L Auburn-L LSU-L Calling for the Tiger trifecta, gimme War Eagle 28, Old Sarge 24.
  5. Yeah, saw Parton's had jacked the price up on the buffet and kept driving. Mama's on Berry or Bryant Irvin are better options.
  6. After the OU game last year. Three or four times a year and it never disappoints.
  7. Seriously meh on both locations. Next up!
  8. Amazing staff, killer enchiladas, best homemade salsa, and as you mentioned, a burrito that could feed three people are all reasons I hit this place 3-4 times a month for lunch. Other than the parking issue, there is nothing to complain about.
  9. Raise Hell:The Life & Times of Molly Ivins. I highly recommend this movie as it has some great archival footage of some of her best interviews along with stories told by her fellow journalists. I still miss the days when she was on the Austin desk for the Star Telegram reporting the monkeys running the zoo when the legislature was in session.

    Kidney Stones

Last year I went from the highest high at the Cotton Bowl with the win over Blow U to the lowest low as walking to the parking lot I began to feel a pain in my back as if I had been stabbed. Stayed hydrated back to Cowtown and met a friend for dinner around 6:30pm. By that time, the 4 rated pain had jumped to 7 and I was sweating like a whore in church in a well air conditioned restaurant. Halfway through the meal I won as a result of the bet made on a Texas win, I looked at my buddy and said man, I'm sorry, but I have got to get to an ER-this pain is killing me. Left half a steak and headed to the ER where they did a scan and chilled my ass out with a morphine drip and some good painkillers. Four hours later, awoke groggy, was given the cup to pee in to catch the little bastard if I passed it, and wife drove me home. Three weeks later at the urologist, another scope, and nothing turned up. Said it must have broken up and I passed it. This was the first and I hope last time I have this experience. Outside of cracking three ribs once, nothing compares to the pain that sumbitch put me through. Woke up at noon the following day enjoyed reading about the game.
  11. Went to CB last year and enjoyed every minute of it. And I just ordered the book from Amazon that Augustus mentioned. Looking forward to adding this to my library and sharing the stories with newcomers.
  12. Then you will find Righteous to be a good choice. Have a good meal and it's a stones throw to WOB so double win.
  13. Lanny Lancarte's place. Has a loyal following but not my kind of joint before a game.
  14. Mrs PCH celebrated 26 years at the 7am at Harbor this morning. Her story begins with "I went to my first AA meeting to support him cause he really had a bad alcohol problem." The fact that she has 5 more years than me proves that she was right in that initial observation, but also that she had a moment of clarity as a result of attending that meeting. It's a great life I share with a partner in recovery today and the road to happy destiny is our path.

    Dallas | BBQ

Can confirm that their ribs and brisket are money. Ready for their building to be finished
  16. My son got a year yesterday in California. My sister from Boise extended her visit because she said she loved being with us and didn't want to leave on Thursday. Had dinner with a couple we have been friends with for 22 years last night but only see once or twice a year. Hit the 7am this morning at Harbor and talked about powerlessness with four newcomers who have less than 30 days. Breakfast with my wife, sister, and a couple who have 50 years sober between them. These are all precious gifts that have been given to myself and my wife as a result of staying sober through working the steps and actively participating in our own recovery at our home group. The rapacious creditor as alcohol is called in the first step in the twelve and twelve has long since been given no consideration as the life that is now worth living one day at a time without it has taken it's place. My heart is at rest knowing that the spiritual journey that I began with a God I didn't know but now depend upon daily will continue for one more day. Hope you all have a great Saturday.
  17. All week he'll be here. Be sure and tip your waitress. And welcome to the Forty QJ-this weekend just got a little brighter.
  18. https://losvaqueros.com/about/ Agree-Johnny Cisneros is a friend of mine. His northside location would be a good place to host this gathering. His staff does a great job as we have held xmas parties there several years and enjoyed the food and drinks.
  19. Post traumatic suck disorder just kicked in again. The worst part of that whole fiasco was it looked like Texas quit after five minutes in. It was hot as hell, sat in the upper deck exposed to that 11am kickoff sun, and left at halftime thoroughly disgusted.
  20. Welcome back. Hope you surrender fully to the program of AA as it sounds like you have the same problem as me. You are among friends as you mentioned and the door is open, so come on, surrender, sit all the way down in a chair in a meeting, ask for the help you need by getting a sponsor, and get started on working those twelve steps. I made this choice on April 28, 1998, and have found a reason not to drink each day since thanks to following those suggestions from men who cared enough to hold me accountable. You're on my list-the good one as I will be asking the God of my understanding to help you step into the program fully surrendered. Good luck.
  21. Day 7777 has passed and I didn't drink. God as I understand Him thanks to the program of AA is good.
  22. There are no coincidences-but there are damn sure some wtf lol results in this deal.
  23. Mike (owner of Paris) is a die hard Frog but also has one of the best staffs in Cowtown. Their Saturday morning crowd is a great mix of people who are loyal regulars. Since Peter Schroeder sold the Old Neighborhood Grille, Paris has been the best breakfast spot around the Magnolia, Berkeley, Fairmount area.
