  1. I'm there around 6:30 every morning and will buy the coffee. Ignore the Starbucks on University which is right behind us because the meeting before the meeting is much better and the coffee is too.😎
  2. Burnt orange conspiracy cannot be denied with this factually authentic frontier gibberish (thank you Mel Brooks for that line🤣)
  3. I remember my first Christmas after attending meetings in September 1993. While I didn't drink for nearly four months, I did not get a sponsor and therefore did not work the steps. On Christmas Eve, I was out shopping for last minute gifts for my wife who went with me to that first meeting and took the suggestions of sponsor/steps and stayed sober to this day. On my shopping trip, I happened by one of my old package stores which was next door to a 7/11. Euphoric recall set in and I felt that having not taken a drink in such a long period of time, I could stop in and buy a pint of my favorite adult beverage, which I did. Then proceeded to the 7/11 for a big gulp for mixing purposes. You already know about the progressive nature of the disease so I won't continue to the part where I came home after midnight, stumbled up the stairs, wrapped her gifts in newspaper because I couldn't find the xmas wrap, and then passed out in the bathroom after hurling my mexican dinner. I got another silver chip the next day but repeated the same mistake expecting different results (no sponsor,no steps, no chance of sobriety) and then finally in 1998 I could no longer live that way. April 28, 1998-25+ years ago I put the plug in the jug, embraced the life saving suggestions, and haven't had a drink of alcohol since. My wife has stayed sober since that first meeting in 1993 and we are both eternally grateful to have found the solution after suffering the problem for far too long. The men I sponsor have added to the psychic change and spiritual awakening that has continued one day at a time. Merry Christmas to all of you on this thread and if you are ever in Fort Worth, look me up at the 7am Harbor Club meeting. Len J.
  4. Maestro. Bradley Cooper should win two Oscars, one for director, one for best actor. The supporting cast in this story of Leonard Bernstein is phenomenal as well.
  5. I'll take the under here for four quarters.
  6. Nothing better than having Johnny Whitten deliver a basket of puffy tacos next door to the Oui lounge and having a pitcher of cold adult beverage-two of my four food groups back in the day. And my cardiologist retired when Massey's closed-there hasn't been a CFS in FW to compare imho. But the real loss was when Caravan of Dreams closed and I had to find work elsewhere. Best five years of employment in my life and getting to meet & mingle with the performers still brings a smile.
  7. Panther City BBQ would be a nice change of pace based on the places you mentioned. They open at 11 on Wednesday you should beat the lunch crowd if you are there by 11:30.
  8. pch

    Texas BBQ

Yeah, I'd head to the ER to immediately have my stomach pumped seeing this picture.
  9. So in what city is this neighborhood-looks like a place I would venture into and gain eleventeen pounds.
  10. Likewise-this ensemble cast all give amazing performances and the storyline holds up as mentioned. James Cromwell and David Strathairn gave the best performances of their careers in this one imho.
  11. And that is true, except you would have to change the name of the movie and it would only be availiable on xhamster, pornhub, etc.
  12. Godspeed Maalik and thank you for representing the University with class. The CFP would likely not have been possible without you. Go to UCLA and become another qb with UT ties who beats USC.
  13. Pictures of the bartender-asking for a friend.
  14. Those pics make me think it is worth a stop on the way to NM. That double meat brisket burger reminds me of the one served here in FW at Panther City BBQ.
  15. None of that matters based on the history of ATM athletics-it's the TURDITIONS like sawing varsity's horns off while homo erotically embracing your male ice cream man cheerleaders and squeezing your bb size testicles for old army. Besides, when this is your greatest strength, it has been the only strength they can look back on with their misplaced pride.
  16. Especially if you are an Aggie who won't TOLERATE TAUNTING TURDITIONS!! But you have to admit that going to a Rice football game pales in comparison to seeing the Marching Owl Band (MOB), a band that doesn't even march but NEVER fails to bring the LOL. My brother in law played in the MOB while getting his undergrad degree in bio-chemistry and joined the alumni band when the Owls got their first bowl bid in 55 years in 2006. He said that other than his retirement as CEO of St. Luke's hospital that this was one of his life's best highlights.
  17. All hat/no cattle describes the ending of this otherwise worth a watch movie. Cast was A+, story was intense at times, and I did stay for the last scene. Should have had "to be continued. . ." when it ended leaving too many outcomes unresolved.
  18. All of the warning signs needed by anyone who considers eating at this place. Talked to a buddy yesterday who had a chopped beef sammich there on Wednesday for $16. GTFO And white truffle potato salad hasn't been on any decent barbecue menu that I have ever seen in my lifetime, WTF. Nobody bats 1.000 and while Felipe Armenta has done well with the variety of restaurants under his flag, unless drastic changes are made to the menu, this place will be shuttered soon.
  19. The game paled in comparison to the halftime competition between these two bands.
  20. Can't go wrong here-never get tired of these great performances by so many.
  21. Same. The first one has me looking forward to this whole series and the actual battle scenes and newsreels are excellent.
  22. And those keyboard wizards and their never been relevant football team aren't even within ten light years from being considered for the CFP.
  23. I met his aunt last night while eating dinner. She saw my Longhorn logo and we had quite a conversation about her nephew-and she loved it when I called him a road grader.
  24. Beat me to it! Feldman's eyes never ceased to bring the lol.
