  1. Dip cones for sure and ditto on wtff. That said, there is one over by Will Rogers and one two blocks from my home that I still frequent. In the 80's, when my folks lived in Nocona, the enchiladas they served up were Dart bowl quality.
  2. I would do three days in Florence and two in Venice. Florence is my favorite city in Italy followed by the Lake Como region of Bellaggio.
  3. Two hand painted silk scarves and two pieces of raku pottery made this another happy Main Street for the missus. Not a bad way to spend three hours walking from the courthouse to the convention center and back on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Next up, Colonial and Mayfest. Tarrant County has good springtime events.
  4. Reggie White died as a result of obstructive sleep apnea at age 43. I was diagnosed fifteen years ago and have used a cpap machine nightly since. It is worth the money spent on both the sleep study and the cpap machine or whatever is prescribed for you and you will notice a difference in how you feel every morning.
  5. Main Street is definitely not for the poors-but the event, people watching, and atmosphere is one of the best times to be had in Cowtown. Seems like every year there is one or two days of Armageddon weather followed by sunshine and today promises to be like that. Have some friends who have a booth outside of Riscky's every year and enjoy seeing their works. Sunday afternoon when the event is winding down sometimes finds the artists willing to negotiate price fwiw.
  6. As it says in our literature, we won't be rendered white as snow-and THANK GOD. My first meeting they all shared what it was like-which let me know I was exactly where I needed to be, what happened-hey, if they could do it, maybe I could, and what it is like now-which I could not imagine but have seen happen in my life since 1998. The physical craving and mental obsession to drink has been lifted, it is now that all the other defects that keep me coming back, where I am reminded what humility really is when we tell on ourselves and then get to change the things we can. Trudge on my friends.

    Caddyshack

    Enjoyed this read.
  8. Back in the day, Clockwork Orange was my go to. But Pee Wee's Playhouse was also in the rotation.
  9. Fat Albert came into the movie five minutes after it started, reclined his seat, and was asleep snoring ten minutes later. Fortunately being the first show of the day, there were plenty of seats available which we took advantage of. Damn good flick.
  10. Does anybody know what the building at the corner of Bryant Irvin and Camp Bowie across from the Exxon station is? The sign says Majestic like the chain of liquor stores that is no longer-or are they coming back under new ownership?
  11. Earl, Tim, and Steve-God bless Ann Campbell and her contribution to Texas football history. Earl brought the pain to the opposition every play and made others around him a threat because of how much respect the play action fake commanded. What a great transition to go from Rosie Leaks to Earl Campbell-except for those who were unfortunately tasked with stopping either of them.
  12. If not for George's, I would subscribe to nuking Waco and Rape U to hell.
  13. Saw this tonight and the former Mad Men star was excellent as a burned out alcoholic former diplomat thrust into a negotiation he didn't really want. Much like Don Draper, Mason Skiles has a taste for alcohol and is cool under fire. Somewhat predictable plot wise, this was still one I would recommend seeing. Boardwalk Empire star Shea Whigham and Breaking Bad player Dean Norris do a good job of playing CIA operatives giving this spy thriller good chemistry.
  14. Checking in. Had to change my user name cause I forgot my password as panthercityhorn. Still trudging the road to happy destiny.
  15. Visiting the Viet Nam memorial and finding the names of my friends, as well as those other 50K+ who gave all. Now at 65, I cry excessively when wondering what their lives would have been like and am grateful for the life I still enjoy.
  16. Kern Tipps and Connie Alexander after him made the Humble broadcasting network a great way to experience a ballgame if you were not there. Listened to many a Texas game during hunting season and loved the SWC back in the 60's.
