  1. In fairness, A&M can't be considered one of those types of programs - Jimbo can't really be on the hot seat for a long time because of that heavenly contract those geniuses drew up.
  2. I voted for him, because he asked nicely. He is leading right now with 2,900 votes or something, about 100x more votes than Shemar Turner. But if Turner commits, maybe I will vote for him too. I hope he reads Surly. Thanks.
  3. Maybe not Jones, but at one point Texas fans thought we wouldn’t have space for all these blue chip LBs and ended up with none. But to say Hines and Moses weren’t possibilities (and doubtful) at one peak sunshine moment in recruiting for that year, is pure revisionist history. But go ahead.
  4. I agree. It reminds me more of that time when we were going to have to figure out who to turn away from the LB haul of Baron Browning, Dylan Moses, Anthony Hines, Levi Jones, and some other cats.
  5. “While his ranking could still conceivably rise or fall, he's in rarified air at the moment.” How could Ewers’ ranking possibly rise? I’m trying to conceive it, but I can’t.
  6. Hey. The thing is that there COULD be other situations where we need 73 yards on a pass play. Imagine this. We are on our own 27 yard line. We are down 6 points. To Kansas, most likely. It’s the 4th quarter, and there is just 0:01 left in the game (we got one extra second after a replay where the ball touched out of bounds with a second left). It may be 2nd down and 10 yards, and not 4th down and 73 yards. Our guy Quinn launches a ball 73 yards to our guy Phaizon for the 6 points. We kick the PAT, win the game, and proceed to the CFP. Herman is carried off the field by his players and points at a camera with an abnormally elongated finger. A star QB recruit many years younger sees this historic moment on TV, cements this memory in his head, and Texas becomes his dream school. But, he bucks the trend and actually commits to Texas. The possibilities are endless.
  7. Barry Sanders and Jamaal Charles, except with much higher ceilings, obviously.
  8. Cuts like Rondale Moore. But lots of ball security issues, I agree with that poster. Lots of catches and fumbles.
  9. Last time they had back to back 10 win seasons was 1993-1994. About to come up on the 30 year mark shortly.
  10. I'm not sure anyone was even directing our guys last year.
  11. “Jimbo passed. Didn’t want to deal with the issues in the locker room”
