  1. Agree that 16 is too many for two reasons. 1) When you get to #16, you're seeing teams with 3+ losses. "Deserving" is the key word here others brought up. 2) It seems year in and year out, you can draw a pretty clear line somewhere in the range of #6 - #10 where you see a clear separation between teams that can compete with the #1 - #4 teams if they played a hypothetical 10 game series and those that would really struggle. Granted, this year is a little murkier, but I'd draw this year's line at 8.5, just to see what UCF could do. Someone brought up the scenario where a team starts slow with a few losses due to a key injury, youth at key positions, etc, and misses their conf championship as a result; however, they demonstrate undeniable potential to win a playoff down the stretch. Eight slots gives you enough room where a committee could get that team in, where four is too restrictive. No such scenario in the recent past comes to mind, so this doesn't concern me a great deal. I prefer eight, but could get on board with a 12 team concept with first round byes for 1-4.
  2. As RPM reminds us, get the peaches ready. ItsHappening.gif https://deadline.com/2018/11/deadwood-movie-begins-production-hbo-david-milch-1202496154/ Looks like they were able to get pretty much everyone back... except two of my favorites. Interesting Powers Boothe trivia: Also, Richardson is no longer with us. Interesting story there too: I hope EB was there to give the eulogy. So many great characters and actors. I see parallels to Seinfeld in that you have one actor (Jerry / Seth) holding things together while the rest of the characters do their thing. I think there's a thread here talking about not recognizing actors/actresses in roles. Robin Weigert (Jane Cannery) would be an excellent example of looking radically different in and out of character.
  3. Wonder if HBO would give her a look. Not sure her core demographics and HBO audience overlap much. Could create a pretty compelling show / interview series with the latitude a network like HBO offers.
  4. Did the RB take our three of our guys?
  5. I imagine it's a combination of: - risk of qbs fumbling when they have gotten so used to shotgun snaps, especially with the pressure of everyone crowding the line and focusing on getting the snap count right - like to have fwd momentum via a FB/RB - aggy interior DL is probably the best part of their D
  6. Maybe this is what they meant:

  8. I thought I was the only one that thought that
  9. Not much wrong with this commercial. I'm more interested in how it get's a reaction out of me. I'm busy doing something else, not paying attention... TV: [random voices] "But there's always one amazing shot" [random voices] [woman's voice] "The twins!" I'm convinced it's intentional.
  10. TV announcer: If he makes that catch, he's going the distance [cut to replay zoomed in on receiver with no one else in the shot... then the camera zooms out to show a safety closing in to force the player out of bounds]
  11. Hornibrook is one of our better quarterbacks over the past ~15 yrs and I'd argue a top 30 QB in the country. Wilson and Tolzien are the others I'd throw up for arguments. Hornibrook can be hit and miss on deep balls, but he can zip mid range throws when needed. I'm noticing his footwork is sloppy today, which is where some of the throwing criticism is coming from. Traditionally, we'll have a great offensive line and a great RB to take pressure off the QB. In addition, we'll have one good possession WR, an NFL caliber TE, a very serviceable backup for 2TE sets, and usually a FB or RB who can help out. This year we have the OL and RB, but no real, established WR threat, two avg TEs, and no real receiving threats out of the backfield. When the receivers can't get open or he's trying to come back from a deficit, he can force things... (throws a pick 6 as I'm typing this). I think that's where most of Hornibrook's troubles are coming from.
  12. Couldn't recall Gilmore's football history, so I looked him up on Wikipedia: "He is a 1982 graduate of Stanford University, where he rode the pine for the large part of three years..."
  13. I was curious about Rod Gilmore's playing history. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_Gilmore: "He is a 1982 graduate of Stanford University, where he rode the pine for the large part of three years..."
  14. fify Aggy = Johnny Tyler?
  15. Guys (and some women) with naturally higher voices who consciously force their voices lower. I suspect this is an attempt to be taken more seriously.... only to result in vocal fry which tends to do the opposite.
  16. While reading, this guy immediately came to mind
  17. Poster deviated from the SOP template. Missed the part about bringing his son/daughter back to College Station to tour the university in hopes that he/she will apply to and be accepted at such an esteemed institution.
  18. I was wondering the same thing. Urbandictionary tells us: Not sure what this has to do with Italians.
  19. They were messing around with them on ESPN this morning. Not so much a kazoo sound, but they do sound like a toy where the pitch increases with the spinner speed.
  20. I've been eagerly awaiting a well done (high production value, good writing, no conflicts with story line) dramatic Star Wars television series that explores the gaps in time or the gaps in setting. I've always thought a series set in the Death Star during construction would be interesting. One that doesn't star Vader or the Emperor, but the events around them - kind of how HBO's Deadwood and Rome follow day-in-the-life of normal people without focusing much on Wild Bill and Julius Caesar, respectively. I assumed this was the case, but verified that you meant Return of the Jedi and not The Last Jedi.
  21. Tell her you thought she meant burnt orange color, not orange flavor, and go with the classic
  22. If Ramjet ever gets tired of hiding Berts in his photoshops, he could spice things up with that guy.
