  1. Orioles relievers have a 6.34 ERA which would be the highest by a bullpen since the 1950 Dodgers. Their HR/9 of 1.91 would be the highest of all time—interestingly this years Tigers and Phillies would be #2 and #3 all time. Juiced ball era in a nutshell.
  2. Reporters were (rightfully) challenging Callaway on his decision to leave Lugo in the game to face Rizzo and Javy and not bringing in Diaz for a 5 out save. Bullpen management has been a point of contention all year for Mickey and the press
  3. Biggest clown show in professional sports, the New York Mets:
  4. Something called Matt Beaty walks it off for LA
  5. 16 strikeouts for Buehler tonight. He’s decent
  6. Trout update: hitting .303 with a 1.122 OPS and leading the AL in homers. On pace for best season ever.
  7. Mike Trout is fucking incredible
  8. The Edwin Jackson reclamation project is not going so well
  9. That series was peak Coors
  10. That’s a pretty fair assessment. I would be surprised if LeMahieu only put up a 99 wRC+ going forward (I think projection systems penalize him too much for playing in Coors his whole career), but Alvarez seems like a safe bet to top 110 the way he’s playing.
  11. Huge 2 run jack by Rizzo in the 9th off Jansen
  12. I didn’t even mean any shade towards Houston. Obviously y’all have a badass team, esp when you factor in pitching. But a healthy Judge-Stanton-Sanchez-Voit-EE middle of the order hits 200 bombs if fully healthy. Don’t think any team in baseball compares to that.
  13. Yeah sorry that’s no comparison to the yanks. Big advantage in pitching tho
  14. It’s been a long time since bullpens in MLB were this shitty. Every night we see someone blowing a big lead Edit: Just saw the Phillies meltdown from earlier. At least they tried
  15. An incredible shitting of the bed by the Rockies in the 9th
  16. Diamondbacks go back-to-back-to-back to start tonight. Eickhoff’s HR/9 ain’t pretty
  17. Diamondbacks go back-to-back-to-back to start tonight. Eickhoff’s HR/9 ain’t pretty
  18. The Twins are awesome. Remind me a lot of the Ranger teams from earlier this decade. GM is from the Rangers too
  19. Diaz has been shaky too. Meanwhile Kelenic’s numbers in the Sally League at age 19: 50 games, .309/.394/.586, 11 homers and plays CF. Already been promoted to high A. Such a Mets trade
  20. Defensive value. SS more valuable than 1B
  21. Top Batters in May per FG AL: 1) Trout (LAA), .275/.427/.604, 1.8 WAR t2) Polanco (MIN), .355/.427/.552, 1.5 WAR t2) Bogaerts (BOS), .314/.400/.552, 1.5 WAR t4) Bregman (HOU), .260/.363/.635, 1.4 WAR t4) Devers (BOS), .351/.380/.640, 1.4 WAR NL: 1) Arenado (COL), .425/.479/.783, 2.1 WAR (good lord) t2) Bell (PIT), .390/.442/.797(!), 1.8 WAR t2) Bryant (CHC), .333/.443/.719, 1.8 WAR 4) Rizzo (CHC), .355/.435/.688, 1.5 WAR 5) Story (COL), .309/.382/.609, 1.4 WAR
  22. When does the devaluation of RBs in the NFL hit college recruiting? Gone are the days of the 30 carry/game workhorse. Running backs that succeed in the NFL need to be able to run routes, catch the ball, pass block, etc. With that being said, I don’t understand would a 18yo RB with NFL dreams would sign up to play in some shitty dur dur “pound the rock” dur dur offense (looking at you LSU and Georgia). Hell, Georgia barely used Nick Chubb as a receiver and then all of the sudden he’s catching 5 passes a game for the Browns. They misused him while he was in school. Schools that feature their RBs in the passing game are going to see their players drafted earlier.
