  1. When does the devaluation of RBs in the NFL hit college recruiting? Gone are the days of the 30 carry/game workhorse. Running backs that succeed in the NFL need to be able to run routes, catch the ball, pass block, etc. With that being said, I don’t understand would a 18yo RB with NFL dreams would sign up to play in some shitty dur dur “pound the rock” dur dur offense (looking at you LSU and Georgia). Hell, Georgia barely used Nick Chubb as a receiver and then all of the sudden he’s catching 5 passes a game for the Browns. They misused him while he was in school. Schools that feature their RBs in the passing game are going to see their players drafted earlier.
  2. Derek Dietrich has 7 homers in 22 AB vs the pirates this year (3 today)
  3. When it rains, it pours with the Mets. Baseball’s most unintentionally hilarious team.
  4. Your 2019 AL MVP folks
  5. There’s lots of promising pitchers in the low minors. Obviously pitching prospects are fickle, but we haven’t had the quantity of guys before. And look 5 years ago, when the farm system was loaded, it was because of guys like Gallo, Maz, and Odor. Those guys need to produce and for the most part they haven’t consistently.
  6. Gonna be a long drive back to college station for rockets fans
  7. Tommy La Stella and Derek Dietrich have combined for 19 HRs.
  8. And Darvish has still walked 6 of them in 4 innings
  9. We’re about 25% through the season. Here are the latest playoff odds per FG. AL: 1) HOU - 98.9% 2) MIN - 84.8% 3) NYY - 83.4% 4) TB - 75.3% 5) CLE - 69.2% 6) BOS - 65.3% NL: 1) LAD - 97.7% 2) CHC - 77.8% 3) PHI - 57.0% 4) STL - 50.6% 5) MIL - 47.8% 6) WAS - 45.6%
  10. Gonna go out on a limb and say Chris Paddack will win a CY one day.
  11. Who is this Martin Perez fuck on the Twins and how did he become an ace?
  12. Yeah defense is a big part and Trout plays a premium position. He also has 16 more PA and WAR is obviously a counting stat.
  13. Top Hitters (March/April): AL: 1) Trout (LAA), .294/.487/.565, 1.9 fWAR T2) Dozier (KC), .349/.447/.686, 1.6 fWAR T2) Andrus (TEX), .361/.425/.583, 1.6 fWAR 4) Chapman (OAK), .282/.382/.564, 1.5 fWAR 5) Vogelbach (SEA), .310/.462/.732, 1.4 fWAR NL: 1) Bellinger (LAD), .431/.508/.890, 3.0 fWAR 2) Yelich (MIL), .353/.460/.804, 2.4 fWAR 3) DeJong (STL), .342/.403/.607, 2.0 fWAR 4) Rendon (WAS), .356/.442/.740, 1.4 fWAR 5) Baez (CHC), .302/.341/.612, 1.3 fWAR
  14. Mike Trout is starting to get the Bonds treatment. OBP is up to .524 and he already has 20 walks, putting him on pace for somewhere in the neighborhood of 160 walks on the year (which still pales in comparison to Bonds’s 2004 season...232 walks and OBP of .609). Could be interesting trend to follow, especially with the garbage they Angels are putting behind him
  15. Joey is now 2nd in the AL behind Trout with an OPS of 1.116.
  16. Some shitty team from Southeast Texas
  17. How about this: Its only 60 PA and 14 games, but Joey is putting up an MVP caliber line of .245/.383/.653, which includes an 0-15 stretch where he didn’t get on base. K% is about the same as last year (34% vs 36%) but walk rate has risen from 13% to 18% and he’s just crushing everything when he makes contact. I think this is the season we’ve all been waiting for
  18. Minor has been nails lately. We will get a fucking haul at the deadline if he keeps this up
  19. Dude, the same applies to Houston. See 2008-2016 seasons where attendance was in the bottom half of MLB. Astro fans only turn out when the team is good. And there’s nothing wrong with that.
  20. Pete Alonso can fucking mash.
  21. Wow a 2 out 2 strike homer from Victor Robles ties it in Philly
  22. My god is Wei-Yin Chen shitty
