  2. Where can I find today's match? EDIT: Found it on USA (after checking all the streaming options first.)

  5. Glad I just bought my new Toyota yesterday. Car is en route to DFW from Houston.

  7. Here’s a story about Kevin Hassett, Trump’s president of the National Economic Council, who said Sunday that chickens don’t fly and therefore didn’t spread avian flu easily. First, here was his quote: Now the fun story: https://open.substack.com/pub/thebulwark/p/meet-kevin-hassett-conservatisms?r=3agz2m&utm_medium=ios
  8. I think Rogan is just a simpleton who is trying to talk about big boy topics with absolute lunatics, who just twist off into the ether when you don't have the knowledge to push back or not have on in the first place. Therefore he's dangerous as fuck.
  9. The food looks pretty good there as well. We went to the new Old Monk before the Blind Pilot show a few weeks back. Cool space.
  10. Rogan has always been a meathead. JRE is like giving a teenage boy a Bugatti and turning him loose on city streets.
  11. That's one of the reasons we pulled the trigger. These suckers and 4Runners hold their value very well and then you get Toyota reliability. My preferred color choice was the dark charcoal grey (or the silver) but those are in high demand or not being delivered yet. I went with the black with the java interior, which looks much better than the black IMO, because it's what they have coming soonest. (I wanted to get out of the Tahoe ASAP because of mechanical reasons and also wanted to get something squared away before any tariffs or other economy issues might further fuck with vehicle pricing in this country.) The blue with white roof was one I really like but my wife wasn't a fan and said you're going to be driving this for a long time and you might get tired of it. The one we drove at Toyota of Dallas -- nobody go there as it is a clownshoes operation -- was the sand color with the white top. The ones with white top have a slight price increase.
  12. @YGIFS approved Yeah, he's gone. No way around that now.
  13. Reasonable critiques based on online reviews. We got it out on 635 and the Tollroad and it seemed to ride well. Checks most of the boxes that I need right now. Will definitely re-evaluate in a few years if Scout presents itself as a viable option.

  15. I think that song was absolutely chosen to acknowledge Sinead’s watershed moment on SNL. She lost her career over it basically — and was later proven to have been 100% right.
  16. That was very enjoyable. Recording cut off after the Belushi bit from the graveyard. Was there something after that? Sir Paul? There was better, I know, but Sandler’s song brought the feels. The last two minutes were simply perfect. Loved that.
  17. Buddy posted this response: “Cousin Eddie is smarter than Randy Quaid these days.”
  18. Absofuckinglutely -- it's chill-inducing watching it sung before Canadian hockey games. The one in Edmonton is fantastic and last night's before the Canada-US game was phenomenal.

  20. Well, looks like my search is over. We are finalizing details on a new Toyota Landcruiser and I'm pretty pumped about it. Toyota's reliability -- and the SUV factor -- won out over Mercedes in this instance. I did put down the $100 to reserve the chance to order a Scout if/when they come out. I figure I can drive this one until that is released and decide then. The Landcruiser should hold it's value much better than anything else I was looking at. There's also a chance I become a member of the Landcruiser cult and never give this truck up.
  21. I think I mentioned it in this thread, maybe it was another one, but my FIL is suffering from congestive heart failure. I talked about his primary medication no longer being covered by Medicare prescription add-on (it's expensive AF) but there were a couple of other alternatives that he can take that were. My wife and I didn't know if this was any way related to Trump winning in November or if the advising agent fucked up when placing this year's coverage. This became known before Trump was even sworn-in. However, there is something that I'm sure is absolutely part of Trump's dismantling of the medical research programs via Musk's toadies. There is a new study being done on a drug at UT-Southwestern that supposedly can reverse the effects of the type of congestive heart failure that he has. He was going to take part as either the drug or placebo portion. Those in the placebo portion would be first in line to get the medication after the trial is over. Well, he hasn't heard a peep about this study in weeks. I'm sure it's no longer happening unless policy is reversed (and I'm sure that will happen). Again, my in-laws are really wonderful people but the chickens have come home to roost. My FIL was already seeing the light before this and I think my MIL is slowly understanding the situation that they've both helped vote in. In short, this is not one that I'll celebrate on this thread because it hits almost as close to home as possible. I just bring it to your attention as another example of what can happen when you vote for shitty people with evil intention.
  22. Well, that and there might have been quite a few voting irregularities in the seven swing states that it might not have mattered anyway. I read somewhere that chances of one candidate winning all seven swing states by just enough votes to not trigger a hand recount without getting 50% of the popular vote was something like 35 billion to one.
