    TEXAS QB TALK

Don’t really disagree with any of this except that there is zero chance Ewers is in Austin next season.
  3. Reds save the sports weekend. Nice win! And of course, City saves two points at the death.
  4. His “deep” ball consists of him throwing up moon shots and hoping somebody can adjust and run underneath them — see Bama last year and I think Michigan this year. The prayer toss he threw up in the second half to get off the goal line looked like a “P-for-K” toss in a backyard flag football game. It had the trajectory of a punt. That isn’t good. He does not “have all the throws” like Sark has said.
  5. LOL, Manning got two drives — and even though they didn’t result in points were every bit as “good” as any Ewers had in the first half. And this.
  6. The headline might be a little misleading as headlines sometimes are. I don’t disagree with the premise, though. Sark had to know how it was going to play if he removed a clearly struggling Ewers and put in Arch as this is not your usual QB situation. There was a connection to the Hurts-Tua situation at Bama a few seasons back but that doesn’t even approach this situation because of Arch’s last name. Sark probably tamped things down a bit by going back to Ewers and not getting blown out in the second half but, man, we all have eyes and Ewers is clearly not playing well. Is it injury or is it timidity? It will be interesting to see where this goes from here. I could see Texas run the table through end of regular season and I could also see us lose 2-3 of our final games. I’m not weighing in on whether I think it’s time to turn things over to Arch or not, but I will extremely disappointed if he doesn’t get meaningful snaps in every game moving forward. Ewers’ injury history essentially demands it.
  7. From The Athletic: Steve Sarkisian created Texas QB controversy with Arch Manning, even if he says he didn’t
  8. It’s Big 12-esqueNo call on Salah’s attack there was dreadful. Now we get the penalty.
  9. Michigan is about to be completely out of the top 25. So there’s that.
  10. Yes, he was carving up Bama and looked like a future 1-1. As you say, he’s erratic. Some games he looks like one of the best Qb’s in the game. Others, not even close.
  11. Yep. That’s where I am too. Ewers is broken. I’m not sure he’s ever gotten back to where he was before that cocksucker Dallas Turner hurt him the first time three seasons ago in Austin.
  12. Wonder the same thing but he’s always getting hurt so it’s kind of who he is at this point.
  13. Ewers has never been a deep threat. He throws moon balls that sometimes receivers run under.
  14. He played two series and was responsible for half of Texas’ yards in the first half. (It was only 19 but still.) O-line got killed tonight but Ewers’ decision-making for a three-year starter is not good, buddy.
  15. Gonna be a learning curve but I think we are better off going into 2025 if we play him now. Ewers’ decision-making is atrocious.
  16. Mukuba with the knee injury. Doesn’t look good.
  17. I was 100% prepared for that call. Maybe targeting too.
  18. Can you imagine Big 12 officials in a situation like that?
  19. Bert from 48? Probably higher chance of converting fourth down. Ewers just babied that ball out there. Zero authority on that throw.
