  1. Hide yo couches! JD Vance is in Highland Park at a fundraiser this evening.
  2. In case this hasn't been shared. 'Dems have 62.9% chance to get House majority' https://www.racetothewh.com/house 'Pubs have 59.5% chance to get Senate majority' https://www.racetothewh.com/senate/24
  3. She's come a long way in her journey. She's never voted for Trump but had no real issues with him up until she saw his reaction/inaction with COVID. She ran her dad's dental practice (he has since retired) and was appalled at the shit he was doing/saying during the pandemic as people were dying and she was trying to safely restart their business. We started our nightly 2-mile walks during the initial shutdown and we'd talk politics. Did I make sure and hit the DOTARD highlights/lowlights? You're damn sure I did -- but she did her own investigating and voted for Biden in '20 and can't wait to vote for Kamala and Colin Allred in the coming weeks.
  4. Signs are starting to appear in our Bluffview (the poor side) neighborhood. Harris/Walz signs outnumber Trump's by a slight number. Our across-the-street neighbor put up Harris/Walz and Colin Allred signs yesterday. He's a big executive at AT&T. I think he waited until after they hosted a huge TCU-SMU watch party (their daughter graduated from TCU) because they've probably got a large number of MAGA friends that might not have liked the signs! Their immediate next-door neighbor put up a Trump sign last week. She's a high-volume residential real estate agent/broker with Compass or Allie Beth or Briggs -- can't remember which -- who ran for public office this spring and lost in runoff. Their sign was right near the street and I think it was "disturbed" so they moved it closer to the house. My next door neighbors are mid/late 30's child-less couple who make a ton of money at AT&T. They're awesome and hard-core Dems. In a matter of a week, my wife has gone from "no way we're putting a political yard sign out front" to actually entertaining our next door neighbors and us both putting them out so our street will lean heavy Harris in public support. We'll see how that goes -- probably going to order signs for next door neighbors and us so we have them on hand in case Mrs C-Man orders the "code blue."
  5. My daughter is a freshman at Ole Miss. She's registered to vote absentee/mail-in ballot and will cast her first vote for Kamala Harris. That's pretty cool that gets to be her first vote for POTUS. Mine was for Bush 1. Meh. At any rate, her vote won't really matter in Mississippi or in Texas but she's doing it anyways.
  6. That's the episode we just watched last night. Glad we got to see more of Zach Braff's character. The scene with him in the shower making the arm look more like it was damaged by a boat prop was impossible for me to watch. I had to turn away. (Didn't seem to bother my wife any, which is a little disconcerting now that I think about it.)
  7. Are they really cashing out though? Trump had(s) 114.75M shares.
  8. Busy week for us too: Wed - Goth Babe in Las Colinas Thur - M. Ward at The Kessler (just bought GA tix this AM) Sun - Lucius/The War on Drugs/The National in SLC We get back to DFW on Monday afternoon. Probably can't swing the James show as much as I'd like to go. Never seen them.
  9. Knocked out The Batman over three sessions around this weekend's football games. Had to watch the final 30 mins yesterday because I passed out immediately after relocating from the couch to my bed for the final scenes. (I'd consumed quite a bit and it was pretty late.) Anyway, good flick. Love John Turturro in everything he does. Jeffrey Wright as Gordon, Zoe as Selina Kyle and Andy Serkis as Alfred were good choices too. I'm not a huge Pattinson fan but I think he did fine. Paul Dano as The Riddler was hit-and-miss. He's definitely a strange cat so that worked.
  10. I guess Milo is still working on his "affidavits" as Part 3 of the Loomer Saga still hasn't come out.
  11. And is that his wife Heidi in that photo? That's another dead giveaway that it's an old photo.
  12. Yeah, thought about that after posting. Decided to roll with it because fuck that cocksmoker.
