  1. Story I read a day or two ago said she wasn't alone at the metro station and appeared to be under duress. Also said there were several odd text messages sent from her phone to family saying she'd been hacked and had all her money stolen, something along those lines.

  3. That lines up with a text I got from a friend this AM that said there's word going around that Quinn re-aggravated the oblique and might not play Saturday. Could be gamesmanship. Could be nothing. The parallels with the 1999 game are eerie, though. Freshman backup is son of NFL royalty, 25th anniversary of the Bonfire disaster. At Kyle Field.
  4. All things considered, Briles would've been a monster at Texas. He's a ginormous piece of shit and likely never would've gotten a look for Texas were it not for shadiness exhibited at every level but just looking at it in a binary sense -- Art Briles would've won hugely in Austin. Perfectly said. I was at the game and wasn't completely aware that he'd injured ankle so the second half performance was mystifying. It made a lot more sense when I realized the scope of the ankle injury. And, yes, I'm extremely confused why Sark didn't sit him to rest and put in Arch to hand the ball off, throw an occasional pass and get some much-needed reps heading into aggy and (hopefully) Georgia rematch. He had perfect cover to just say Quinn got dinged and we didn't want him getting hurt anymore when we were up 24-7.

I've mentioned this before but one of my good friends is the chef who opened Al Biernat's with Al (RIP). Al was front of the house and James was the food guy. They had a falling out about 18 months into their relationship and James left and opened Tramontana and then Bistro Latino in Preston Center. Tramontana was a top DMN restaurant for the duration of its' existence. At any rate, James always told me if he was going out to eat anybody else's food in town on a big night out, he was going to Lola because of David. Then, I got to know David's wife Jennifer when she was the wine steward at Central Market on Lovers before Lucia. Lucia was great all the way around. We will definitely be going back.
  6. Yeah, I think I missed Bolden's 36-yard run from the OU game.
  7. I would expect him to have a high completion percentage with all the swing passes and other short throws with 3-5 yards of the LOS. We've had a real problem creating explosive scoring plays starting with Oklahoma. We've only had four TDs longer than 30 yards in the last six games -- all but one of them (Wisner's 43-yard TD run vs OU) came in the Florida blowout. Long drives are great but they're not as reliable because there's more plays that have to "work" to methodically move down the field. Hitting on just one deep ball per game makes the game much, much easier. 'Balls deep' was a play called many times by Marty Cherry during his time on the Forty Acres.
  8. What I mean is you are 1000% an apologist for Ewers -- basically the exact opposite mirror image of Derka on this issue. Neither one of you will give a single inch when the true perspective is in the middle of the two you. It might be closer to one than the other, and that's where the nuance comes in.
  9. And that will ultimately catch up to you against elevated competition, which we are about to see in every game from here on out. This is a good point. Throw a better deep ball, lead him correctly and he doesn't slow down and let the DB run into him for an obvious -- to everybody but SEC officials -- DPI.
  10. You realize that you're just as bad as @Derka on this arguement -- you're just on the complete polar opposite side of the spectrum. The answer to the QE question is somewhere in the middle between his take and yours. I tend to lean more Derka's way in that QE has been largely unimpressive for a third-year starter with Heisman aspirations when the season started since returning from his early-season injury. I hope he's good at Kyle Field this week because I've become resigned to the fact Sark isn't considering any alternatives until Quinn simply cannot continue physically. He was good -- not great -- in the first half against Kentucky and then was just bad in the second. Was that entirely due to the ankle injury? I guess that's the likely case -- but if he's that hurt, put in the backup for some really good experience. We were up 24-7 at that point. Don't get me started on Jaydon Blue -- I can't remember the last time I saw a RB that had such bad fumble-itis. I feel pretty confident in saying that was probably a fumble when he scored the TD.

  13. Was listening to Brad and Babe on the drive back from Austin. No discussion between them about the stupidity of the guy returning the second onside kick for a TD. Fall down and the game is over with one snap. Instead, Washington got to throw a Hail Mary on the ensuing possession.
  14. No, he wasn’t. He wasn’t even the #1 QB in his class. (Please note that I agree with you on th rest of this matter.)
  15. No, it isn’t. It’s shocking that he’s so terrible on deep throws.

    Texas RB Talk

Great game running the ball but cmon, Blue, hold on to the football. Can’t remember the last time I saw a player so prone to fumbling.
  17. The more time he wastes on shit like this will keep him from doing far worse things.

Yeah, this song totally jumped out at me. It wasn’t half over before I’d hit the “+” to add it to my Liked Songs playlist on Spotify. He did an interview with NPR yesterday and sounds like he’s raised the possibility this will be his last album.
