I’m convinced he’s just been hurt all year. That’s really the most likely explanation. The abdominal early in season bothered him after coming back probably sooner than he should have. Then, that’s probably about fully healed and he sprains his ankle badly vs Kentucky. Mix in some between-the-ears shit as NFL guys are concerned about his injury history and he’s falling out of the first round of the Draft. For somebody who has been building to be drafted highly since he was a sophomore in HS, I wouldn’t be surprised if that wasn’t playing a part in this. Though Klubnik outplayed him ultimately at QB, I think Ewers looked pretty good on Saturday. Of course it helps when Blue and Wisner are running all over Clemson. I can quibble with a few throws but overall, I think he was good. He had a big scramble that extended a crucial TD drive and that was great to see. I’ve come to grips with the fact that we aren’t likely to see any jaw-dropping play from him the rest of the way because of the health thing. If we can beat ASU, the next round will tell the tale on Ewers.
