  1. I disagree. I don't see our future with the number of guns we have. Public opinion is changing and people are speaking up. The NRA is in decline, exposed as corrupt. It won't happen overnight but our love affair with guns is coming to an end.
  2. I did up thread. People possessing ar15s has zero relevance to the likelihood of tyrrany. The belief that morons with their ar15s are going to save us from an oppressive government is a fantasy and should not be part of any conversation on gun regulation.
  3. The idea that the gunowning fucknut 3-5% of our population...in the age of information warfare and deepfake technology...that those guns are going to keep us from tyrrany. That's what I'm ridiculing. And btw, how'd we manage to avoid tyrrany up until the 90s when these guns started showing up in mass? There are zero reasons to keep these guns in our society. I want them gone.
  4. Yeah, twisted people with AR-15s, high capacity magazines and ready access to cheap ammo. I'd rather them not. The cost versus utility consideration between an ar-15 and a shotgun is completely different.
  5. If there been mass shooting after Mass shooting with shot guns then we should consider banning those too. There hasn't been and won't be. There's a difference between acting irrationally due to emotion and emotion jarring you into recognizing a rational position. The latter is what happened with Beto.
  6. You don't see how having 22 people shot up at Walmart in your hometown that you represented in Congress for 6 years could cause someone to change positions? Or have the courage to say what you really belief? And he's right. You buyback the guns, push back on the gun culture, and this shit stops. The reason it doesn't happen is because republicans have valued short term political gain over doing what's right...and 100% constitutional. It's time to stand up to that. People are pissed and Beto is speaking for them. Good for him.
  7. Eh, haven't really ridden my bike in years. Handle dates back to horn fans. Mass shootings have an impact far beyond the actual events and immediate victims. I had one happen 2 blocks from my house as a matter of fact. Affected the whole city, mass trauma. These arent just killings, they're acts of terrorism. And you're defending this cause...gun range fun? Tyranny? Slippery slope? Which is it?
  8. Ah yes, the ol' slippery slope. Sandy Hook. Orlando. Las Vegas. El Paso. Fuck you, man. This isn't the world I want to live in.
  9. Yep. But Chris Coons is worried about offending wackos. Id have to think the net political effect of wanting to take guns is a wash, at worst today. Just have an ounce of fucking courage, guys. Warren-Beto all the way.
  10. Democrats can be such pussies. Only 30% of Americans own a gun. Something like 3% own an AR-15, if that. And for those, they need these guns, why? Not for hunting. ( Use a hiring rifle) Not for protection. (Handgun) Not to "guard against Tyranny." (fantasy and fucking stupid). It's so ignorant fucks can go shoot at a gun range. That's it. That's the sole practical utility for these things. Well, fuck that. I'm fucking sick of a tiny minority group's entertainment getting priority over my right to go outside without worrying about getting shot, to send my kids to school knowing they'll come home. Beto's right and kudos to him for actually leading.
  11. Really glad Beto had a good night. If Biden implodes I think you could see him make up a lot of ground in the early states. I don't see him winning Texas if he's not competitive before Super Tuesday. 100% on the Warren-Beto ticket. That would be the perfect moral response to Trump and wins by a landslide imo.
  12. Honestly, considering starting points, Yang's probably ran the second best campaign after Warren. Glad he's in this.
  13. Knives are coming out. They know she's winning. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/i-like-elizabeth-warren-too-bad-shes-a-hypocrite/2019/09/11/409d5ed0-d4d3-11e9-86ac-0f250cc91758_story.html Isn't this the guy that promised Pennsylvania to Hillary? Just go away. All of you.
  14. Obama's FDA had issued a proposed rule regulating to the point of an effective ban for most of the vape type products. Would have probably left just large manufacturers and was criticized as written by the tobacco lobby but that's another issue. Trump admin rescinded it. Anyway, we have laws and regulations, w d procedures for banning shit. You can just arbitrarily regulate by fiat. Unless you're Trump I guess The ban--and Obama's reg--seem really short sighted to me. I mean, kids are vaping. Well, better than smoking.
  15. Pretty insulting to suggest Liz is only offering plans. Good luck with that one, Joe. Setting up a home run response for her in the debate.
  16. If she kills this next debate I think you could see her overtake Biden in national polls.
  17. Republican says: "In fact, I think any instances of disdain for the rule of law are dangerous." Correct response:
  18. This reminds me a lot of the Ossaf race in Georgia, though he of course had more resources and more enthusiasm. It's similar in that Republicans knew losing it would signal to everyone that the wheels are falling off so they pulled out all the stops to eek out a victory. Also kind of reminds me of the desperation to save Ted Cruz in Texas. The GOP/Trump are desperately trying to plug holes in an increasingly leaky dam holding back a blue deluge. Eventually, it's going to break. Probably in 2020. On another note I'm still shocked at the number of people who will still gladly vote republican. Who knew this country had so many people who hate America.
  19. He is so determined to be the heir to Trumpism when the Orange God falls. I so want to see him out of public life.
  20. 2019 LSU. One of these is not like the other. JFC. Why even be a fan?
  21. I mean one's the first female major party nominee and the other has the inside track to be the second, and the first to win the Presidency, but other than that I can't see anything they could possibly bond over. How awful of Warren to associate with her.
  22. I think that was largely a made up media thing. His listening tour was about Facebook.
  23. I think it was part of his "understand America" so I can "fix Facebook" tour.
