  1. I think this is right. Again, I just cannot fathom an innocent explanation for all of this. Rick Gates and "ongoing investigations" is another reason. What about the redacted descriptions of investigations in the Flynn's sentencing memo? The idea that the Mueller investigation and all the criminality it uncovered ended on Friday is preposterous.
  2. Been thinking about the indictments some more. It occurred to me that-- setting aside the indictments of the russians-- his indictments have either been (1) obstruction type charges or (2) more serious charges for conduct unrelated to the core investigation with the apparent goal of forcing witnesses to flip. We also know he viewed his role as an investigatorial one and not a prosecutorial one. It's possible Mueller had no intention of ever charging Americans for crimes related to Russian interference, collusion or conspiracy. He always intended to hand it off to Congress, the American people, and US Attorneys.
  3. How quickly can you get money in an account there? I absolutely believe it. Timing on the resignation is a little tricky, but democrats will move for impeachment quickly and the pressure will mount. Trump will not have a choice.
  4. Here's my prediction. Said it before after the election. The Mueller report and its subsequent fallout will be damning and indefensible. Trump will be forced to resign within a month. I said he'd be out in six months back in November, so we're right on schedule. There's just too much evidence out there for there to be an innocent explanation. So many leads that an investigator would pull at, and I know Mueller has. Just consider this: (1) Rob Goldstone email proposing the Trump Tower meeting suggesting the offer of dirt is "part of Russia and its government's support for Mr. Trump," assuming prior knowledge by the recipient Junior (and the campaign) of such efforts; (2) Broad consensus by intelligence community and Mueller that Russia did in fact interfere in the election to help Trump; (3) Manafort and everything we know about his contacts, including the polling data transfer; (4) Trump Tower Russia; and (5) Trump's inexplicable behavior towards Putin and Russia, especially Helsinki. It's all there for anyone to see. Mueller, and the investigators before him spent about 3 years looking into this and connecting the dots. Trump is done. We're in for a wild ride over the next couple years.
  5. Agree. His polling is all about name recognition and good feelings about Obama administration.
  6. What do you think of that?
  7. It does always seem coordinated. What's telling is Trump's silence and that he's huddled at Mara Lago with his lawyers and press aides.
  8. What are you talking about? Mueller doesn't give a shit about media cycles. And he's done many of his major actions on Fridays. Dude must like his weekends.
  9. Agree. I don't see the weaponization and spin as being equal on both sides. Most democrats I see are out there emphasizing the fact of the number of contacts and that everyone seems to be lying about them. I don't see them spinning the Manafort convictions into something they're not. I don't watch cable news though.
  10. To be fair, it's still very likely that Trump is a Russian asset installed by Putin himself. Well, maybe "very likely" is too strong but the fact that there's any possibility of that should be absolutely terrifying to every single one of us.
  11. Can we make anything of Barr likely briefing Congress on the principle conclusions the day after he got the final report? I guess there's urgency no matter what is in it.
  12. I still haven't seen any definitive confirmation there are no sealed indictments. This was posted this morning and says they don't know. All that's really definitive is the report has been delivered and Mueller is finished SC.
  13. Yeah we're fucked. My number one priority for a Presidential candidate is someone who I believe can start to move us past this. I don't know if anyone can, but I like Beto and Buttigieg there.
  14. This guy's an amazing person. We are lucky to have him enter the national stage and he would make a fine President. I am fairly confident we'll get that at some point during his life. Edit: Saw this was posted a few posts above. Oh well, worth repeating.
  15. Before anyone outside of Mueller, AG and some staff, have any idea what's in the report, the Senator from Texas labels whatever comes next "political harassment." This is traitorous. I'm a fiscal/government size moderate, with a technocrat bent in how I think of policy, and a civil libertarian. There was a time when the republican party could have appealed to me, and there's the potential for a party to embrace those views today. The Republican Party is not that party, and I wish more people were outraged by statements like Cornyn's. It is everything wrong with our country and our politics in one tweet.
  16. Not bad. Works out to $54 per donor. Not sure why they didn't just post that number from the beginning, but I'm guessing it's more difficult to sort out the multiple donations from single donors. Anyway, there's not really a way to negatively spin his fundraising. It's a force. And Saturday, he's going to have people organizing watch parties in their homes across the United States. This is 9-10 months out from the first contest. It's hard to say how much the attacks will resonate once the majority of primary voters start really paying attention, but I think it will be hard to respond to the machine that Beto is building.
  17. Good assessment from Benjamin Wittes. Basically, we know nothing except there's a report and Bill Barr has it. https://www.lawfareblog.com/very-quick-thoughts-end-mueller-investigation
  18. I've come to the conclusion that we're all fucked. Goodnight.
  19. It's the end of a ton of speculation.
  20. The good news is a lot of this will be over soon. We'll know a lot more in the coming days. I hope it ends Trump. For my sake. And my children.
  21. I really just want it to be over. I'd like things to return to normal. To not have Trump. To not have the instability and embarassment that he brings. It's exhausting.
  22. What about sealed indictments? Him saying he has no more doesn't mean there are not indictments we do not know about.
  23. There is proof of "collusion" in what's public already.
  24. Yeah. Just compiling all the public evidence and lies would and slapping a "Mueller Report" label on it should be a bombshell. It's hard to fathom how Trump campaign could not have knowingly acted in concert with Russia. That is enough to prove conspiracy. What is unanswered is the degrees they had direct communications regarding that cooperation or if there was a clear quid pro quo.
