  1. Assume it's on federal land, so federal criminal law would apply. Say Melania dies in the Whitehouse under suspicious circumstances and the Dotard is the likely suspect.
  2. Question: Has the criminality of the President's conduct while in office ever risen to that Trump is apparently responsible for? If a President murdered someone, would they be indicted? I guess you could say that even there, impeachment is a solution, but what if the evidence of the murder isn't rock solid but enough to reach beyond a reasonable doubt. I mean, enough doubt exists where half of a corrupt Senate would turn the other way. What then? The President is not and should not be above the law. There has to be a situation where indictment is appropriate. Maybe this is it.
  3. Surprised this didn't come out in the Senate Race. Cruz would have had a field day. It would all be bullshit, but he would anyway. We're going to have to cut people some slack for shit they said and did when they were 16 or else we can never have another male as President. At least not one under 50.
  4. Great that the debates will have both Buttigieg and Yang. Hopefully there will be some serious moderation and we'll actually have some useful discussion.
  5. Joaquin likely in against Cornyn. Good move. Beto on the pres ticket and a strong challenger to Cornyn and Texas just might...might .... finally turn blue.

  7. I'd like to think Beto really believes in structural reforms like getting the money out of politics, term limits and ending gerrymandering. If he can use his positivity to unite the country to enact things that will actually start to fix shit, then maybe that's the place to go. Or maybe we're all fucked. I don't know. I'm going to go drink.
  8. What are the reports on the ground in Iowa? How are they receiving him?
  9. Pretty sure he had already backed off in his Senate run, becuase he was running against Ted Fucking Cruz in Texas. Also, public option is a perfectly reasonable position take and actually achievable in our lifetimes. The healthcare lobby will never allow M4A.
  10. Man, you already maxed out your donation? Way to go. Glad you're on board.
  11. Coverage today brought to mind this Nate Silver tweet, which seems pretty prescient now
  12. Well, Beto's locked up Htown's support.
  13. Just checked out their website. Looks damn good. Can't wait to see Beto skateboarding around a Culver's parking lot.
  14. I gave him $20 to get some gas. Did my part. Tomorrow I'll give em some more. What's a dimebag cost these days? Might just go $10 for a burger. What sort of fast food joints they got up there? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  15. This will be ridiculed but no one else is going to campaign like this and Iowa will eat it up. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  16. Warren did similar. Subject: "Welcome, Beto" with the ask framed as "lot of people running, so give me money" Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  17. Question: How would Bobby Kennedy, adjusting relative politics to today, do in today's democratic party? Is it fair to compare Beto to RFK? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  18. He's going to raise a shit ton if cash today: Hello! This is Andrew with Beto O'Rourke's Texting Team. Big news: Beto just announced he is running for President! We're building this campaign together -- all people, no PACs. Can you be one of Beto's first contributors and match your previous donation? Donate here: https://act.betoorourke.com/go/donate" I'm betting he's near Bernie. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  19. Disagree. Beto has the ability to capture the soft left people who identify as liberal but are not ideological. And again, he hits all the important issues, most critically structural reform like campaign finance reform. He will also appeal to middle in the same way Obama did in 2008 and expand the electorate like he did in Texas. His campaign is going to be moving like a freight train by Iowa and, absent a scandal, it will be hard to stop. I see the Bernie and Biden support, beyond the very core, as driven mostly by name recognition and good feelings. Something interesting I noticed in his launch speech. He used the phrase "dignity of work," which would have been the centerpiece of Sherrod Browns campaign. Look for an early endorsement from Brown. On the other hand, he may just be seeking that endorsement. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  20. Bold prediction: Beto runs away with this and it's over by Super Tuesday. Kamala Harris as VP. I'm going to make my first donation of 2020 this morning, $50 to Beto for President.
  21. Pretty good. He's going to really shake this thing up. Iowa is going to love him.
  22. I don't know if I get the not left enough. He definitely supported a lot of liberal causes while running in fucking Texas. Looks like someone who will lead to me and that's what we need. More importantly, he supports a lot of the same structural reforms as Bernie, most importantly limiting the influence of money in our politics. That along with ending gerrymandering and restricting corporate lobbying would do more than anything else to start to fix our shit sandwich.
  23. Yeah, he's running for president and has a damn good shot. You're going to hear a lot of the historical comparison to Lincoln running for-- and winning -- a presidential race after losing a Senate bid two years earlier. Even more interesting, Lincoln's opponent was the same as in his Senate race, Stephen Douglas. I wouldn't be surprised to see that play out again with Ted Cruz rising to the top when the Dotard has to resign in a few months. One difference, Lincoln was a one-term former congressman, Beto had three.
  24. Predictions on how much he raises in the first 24-48 hours?
