  1. Question: How would Bobby Kennedy, adjusting relative politics to today, do in today's democratic party? Is it fair to compare Beto to RFK? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  2. He's going to raise a shit ton if cash today: Hello! This is Andrew with Beto O'Rourke's Texting Team. Big news: Beto just announced he is running for President! We're building this campaign together -- all people, no PACs. Can you be one of Beto's first contributors and match your previous donation? Donate here: https://act.betoorourke.com/go/donate" I'm betting he's near Bernie. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  3. Disagree. Beto has the ability to capture the soft left people who identify as liberal but are not ideological. And again, he hits all the important issues, most critically structural reform like campaign finance reform. He will also appeal to middle in the same way Obama did in 2008 and expand the electorate like he did in Texas. His campaign is going to be moving like a freight train by Iowa and, absent a scandal, it will be hard to stop. I see the Bernie and Biden support, beyond the very core, as driven mostly by name recognition and good feelings. Something interesting I noticed in his launch speech. He used the phrase "dignity of work," which would have been the centerpiece of Sherrod Browns campaign. Look for an early endorsement from Brown. On the other hand, he may just be seeking that endorsement. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  4. Bold prediction: Beto runs away with this and it's over by Super Tuesday. Kamala Harris as VP. I'm going to make my first donation of 2020 this morning, $50 to Beto for President.
  5. Pretty good. He's going to really shake this thing up. Iowa is going to love him.
  6. I don't know if I get the not left enough. He definitely supported a lot of liberal causes while running in fucking Texas. Looks like someone who will lead to me and that's what we need. More importantly, he supports a lot of the same structural reforms as Bernie, most importantly limiting the influence of money in our politics. That along with ending gerrymandering and restricting corporate lobbying would do more than anything else to start to fix our shit sandwich.
  7. Yeah, he's running for president and has a damn good shot. You're going to hear a lot of the historical comparison to Lincoln running for-- and winning -- a presidential race after losing a Senate bid two years earlier. Even more interesting, Lincoln's opponent was the same as in his Senate race, Stephen Douglas. I wouldn't be surprised to see that play out again with Ted Cruz rising to the top when the Dotard has to resign in a few months. One difference, Lincoln was a one-term former congressman, Beto had three.
  8. Predictions on how much he raises in the first 24-48 hours?
  9. Part of the budget proposal: The proposal would impact borrowers who borrow a new student loan starting July 1, 2020, excluding borrowers who are completing their current course study. Therefore, if you borrow or have borrowed a student loan prior to that date, you would presumably still be eligible for this student loan forgiveness program. https://www.forbes.com/sites/zackfriedman/2019/03/12/trump-proposes-to-end-student-loan-forgiveness-program/#2ec4132f415e For those with existing loans, my understanding is that it's part of the promissory note, so it's pretty much already been guaranteed.
  10. Everyone misuses this shit. Get ready for tons of attacks about how much Beto took from the "Oil and Gas Industry" Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  11. Why do you have to vote for someone else? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  12. President Hatch would never allow Trump to be indicted. Also, I want to believe... Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  13. This sounds like Scooby squad stuff Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  14. All this shows is the effect of announcing and to some degree, announcing well. I guarantee you Biden and Beto would see an instant 5-10 point bumb after announcing. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  15. Cause the only thing more sacrilegious than an amoral president scrawling his name across a Bible is selling it for a handsome profit.

  17. He's teasing an announcement to his list/on social media. "Be the first to hear" sort of thing. Way to get people to sign up but it also means his announcement is near. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks for posting. I honestly couldn't remember what Filter did and had to read their wikipedia article. I'd buy filter's version of events. And this quote is dead on: “This country is so polarized. This isn’t the America that my family fought for. This is some guy trying to make a quick buck while he’s in the White House for a couple of years. Carl Bernstein said: 'It’s not the first time that half of America has hated a president, but it’s the first president that’s hated half of America.'
  19. Saw some on twitter. Seems more anticipation than sourced rumors, but this around the time he said he would have a decision. I mean, it's clear he's running, so they're just crafting the roll out at this point. Watching the build up to it, I'm feeling more and more like he's really going to shake up the race in a huge way and catapult himself to front-runner, or at a minimum with the top tier of Bernie, Kamala and Biden. I see him taking a lot of Biden and Bernie's support actually. Warren-Beto is still my dream ticket. Big ideas, policy chops, moral leadership, optimism.
  20. I mean, an announcement in Austin to his core supporters followed by a tour of Iowa, NH and SC would make a lot of sense. I would have expected a lot of lead up to it, like "I have a big announcement" emails. Hugo, do you ever sleep? Edit: Where you seeing the rumors?
  21. Saw on Facebook, Beto's going to be at the premier of "Running with Beto." 11:30 today at the Paramount. Anyone going? https://schedule.sxsw.com/2019/films/2008805 Any chance he announces around SXSW? Seems like there'd be more build up to it, so probably not.
  22. One down, 62,980,159 to go.
  23. Reminder, Beto's coming. HBO Documentary on his Senate Campaign, debuting Saturday at SXSW, airing on HBO on May 28th. It will be a nice reminder of the inspirational campaign he ran. Story: https://ew.com/movies/2019/03/07/running-with-beto-orourke-documentary-first-look/ Preview: https://ew.com/movies/2019/03/07/running-with-beto-orourke-documentary-first-look/ Nate Silver article on Beto's chances, campaign strengths, and how he views him as right below the top tier favorites (Biden, Kamala, Sanders): https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/is-beto-orourke-overrated-or-underrated/ I have concerns about his lack of experience, but I'm looking forward to a candidate I can actually get excited about being a serious contender. Still hoping Buttigieg catches fire too.
  24. Pence is big into rockets. Mainly cause they remind him of penises, but still, I think he his support is enough to keep things moving. Russia knew this was coming, though I had a concern about Russian sabotage.
