  1. Part of the budget proposal: The proposal would impact borrowers who borrow a new student loan starting July 1, 2020, excluding borrowers who are completing their current course study. Therefore, if you borrow or have borrowed a student loan prior to that date, you would presumably still be eligible for this student loan forgiveness program. https://www.forbes.com/sites/zackfriedman/2019/03/12/trump-proposes-to-end-student-loan-forgiveness-program/#2ec4132f415e For those with existing loans, my understanding is that it's part of the promissory note, so it's pretty much already been guaranteed.
  2. Everyone misuses this shit. Get ready for tons of attacks about how much Beto took from the "Oil and Gas Industry" Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  3. Why do you have to vote for someone else? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  4. President Hatch would never allow Trump to be indicted. Also, I want to believe... Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  5. This sounds like Scooby squad stuff Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  6. All this shows is the effect of announcing and to some degree, announcing well. I guarantee you Biden and Beto would see an instant 5-10 point bumb after announcing. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  7. Cause the only thing more sacrilegious than an amoral president scrawling his name across a Bible is selling it for a handsome profit.

  9. He's teasing an announcement to his list/on social media. "Be the first to hear" sort of thing. Way to get people to sign up but it also means his announcement is near. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks for posting. I honestly couldn't remember what Filter did and had to read their wikipedia article. I'd buy filter's version of events. And this quote is dead on: “This country is so polarized. This isn’t the America that my family fought for. This is some guy trying to make a quick buck while he’s in the White House for a couple of years. Carl Bernstein said: 'It’s not the first time that half of America has hated a president, but it’s the first president that’s hated half of America.'
  11. Saw some on twitter. Seems more anticipation than sourced rumors, but this around the time he said he would have a decision. I mean, it's clear he's running, so they're just crafting the roll out at this point. Watching the build up to it, I'm feeling more and more like he's really going to shake up the race in a huge way and catapult himself to front-runner, or at a minimum with the top tier of Bernie, Kamala and Biden. I see him taking a lot of Biden and Bernie's support actually. Warren-Beto is still my dream ticket. Big ideas, policy chops, moral leadership, optimism.
  12. I mean, an announcement in Austin to his core supporters followed by a tour of Iowa, NH and SC would make a lot of sense. I would have expected a lot of lead up to it, like "I have a big announcement" emails. Hugo, do you ever sleep? Edit: Where you seeing the rumors?
  13. Saw on Facebook, Beto's going to be at the premier of "Running with Beto." 11:30 today at the Paramount. Anyone going? https://schedule.sxsw.com/2019/films/2008805 Any chance he announces around SXSW? Seems like there'd be more build up to it, so probably not.
  14. One down, 62,980,159 to go.
  15. Reminder, Beto's coming. HBO Documentary on his Senate Campaign, debuting Saturday at SXSW, airing on HBO on May 28th. It will be a nice reminder of the inspirational campaign he ran. Story: https://ew.com/movies/2019/03/07/running-with-beto-orourke-documentary-first-look/ Preview: https://ew.com/movies/2019/03/07/running-with-beto-orourke-documentary-first-look/ Nate Silver article on Beto's chances, campaign strengths, and how he views him as right below the top tier favorites (Biden, Kamala, Sanders): https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/is-beto-orourke-overrated-or-underrated/ I have concerns about his lack of experience, but I'm looking forward to a candidate I can actually get excited about being a serious contender. Still hoping Buttigieg catches fire too.
  16. Pence is big into rockets. Mainly cause they remind him of penises, but still, I think he his support is enough to keep things moving. Russia knew this was coming, though I had a concern about Russian sabotage.
  17. Well, time to cancel the SpaceX commercial crew program contract. If Obama was for it, it must be a mistake. In other news, USA! USA! USA!. Hell yeah, back to space. Edit to add that it's sad that it's an ex President tweeting about our technical achievements while the president is silent, tweeting at his politcal enemies instead. This is the type of cool shit that used to unite us.
  18. Adding to my thought a second ago. I don't know there's been enough discussion on how significant this statement is in the June 3, 2016 email from Goldstone to Don. Jr: "This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government's support for Mr. Trump - helped along by Aras and Emin." All of this in one sentence: (1) Makes clear its the Russian GOVERNMENT that is supporting Trump; (2) Suggests that as part of that they're doing shady shit to support Trump; (3) Shows that the Trump campaign, by that date at the latest, knew of such support; (4) Assumes prior knowledge by Don Jr. of such efforts by the Russian government (so they likely knew even earlier). It's incredibly damning. And we know that meeting actually took place. The email and the meeting alone are enough to prove the elements of conspiracy. What I have difficulty understanding is if it's this clear that the Trump campaign was activitely working in coordination with Russia, whether as part of an overt agreement or tacitly, why is it taking Mueller so long to move against Trump? Especially when he's continuing to act like a possible Russian agent?
  19. I'd consider that "sharing the profits." UT is certainly profiting off his likeness.
  20. Well, that and I would add his efforts to obstruct the counterintelligence probe into the continued attacks. Continued denial that there was even in any influence. This is setting aside all the meetings, roger stone/wikileaks coordination, polling data transfer, knowledge of Russia's efforts to support his candidacy (see Trump Tower meeting invitation email: "This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government's support for Mr. Trump." ) It's all out there, but no one's doing a very good job of putting it together. My hope is that synthesis is what we get from the Mueller report. If this were any other case, any reasonable prosecutor would feel comfortable connecting the dots and bringing a case, even with just what we know publicly. And there's zero chance Mueller doesn't know more than what's been revealed publicly.
  21. Well, for the guy elected to undo everything Obama did, it was only a matter of time before he wrecked the economy: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/08/business/economy/jobs-report.html I haven't dug into the jobs numbers and know its just one indicator. Also, the business cycle. But Trump's policies have been a net negative on the economy in my view. And by exploding the deficit with a premature and ineffective tax cut to the rich stimulus, he's made it difficult to respond to a slowing economy.
  22. This is a nice statement of where we are:
  23. There's no reason why schools can't share more of the profits with students. Increase the stipends, create a fund that you receive at the end of your playing time-- can be used for grad school or whatever you want, or maybe some cash and some guaranteed grad school tuition. When their coaches are making millions a year, these players are getting screwed.
  24. Yeah, but did that guy live an otherwise blameless life?
