Not to be a broken record but look-  I don’t want a civil war and I don’t want social unrest. I’m an institutionalist who believes in boring technocracy. I abhor violence, I was raised vegetarian, and I don’t even hunt.

I’m buying green tips right now when I see them. Not because I’m a paranoid or a prepper, but for the same reason everyone I know in Pasadena has a box in their garage with rice, beans, drinking water and batteries: I think there’s a strong possibility I’ll need them. I pray I don’t, but I fear we are entering a dangerous new phase of our history. The burn it down guys won.

  3. This will be good for Texas:

Huge news, Horncyclist! It's Rob w/PxP, and I wanted to let you know we just added a Calling Texas: The Last Mile Phone Bank with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez! AOC will join Beto on Sun. at 6:30CT. I know you don't want to miss this! Can we count on you to join them?

Beto's doing work. Would be awesome if he brought Texas home on election night. It gets called around 10 pm and can go ahead and celebrate.

Interesting and potentially horrifying report about unrest after the election.

U.S. election officials are dealing with a series of challenges this year that have raised concerns about the public’s confidence in the result.

Top national security officials warned last week that Russia and Iran have been hacking into U.S. voting systems and looking for ways to undermine the election.

Trump also has repeatedly questioned the integrity of U.S. elections, arguing that the process is “rigged” against him and repeatedly asserting without evidence that the surge in mail-in voting this year will increase the likelihood of voter fraud. He has refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power if the vote count indicates he has lost.

Donald Green, a political scientist at Columbia University, said the poll results ease his concerns about post-election violence. But he warned that if the election is close, or one candidate can make a credible accusation of voter fraud, it could spark wider discontent and protests than the poll suggests.

“This is why many people who oppose Trump are holding their breath and hoping for a lopsided outcome that is not up for grabs,” Green said.

The latest Reuters/Ipsos poll shows Biden leads Trump by 8 percentage points nationally: 51% of likely voters say they are backing the Democratic challenger while 43% are voting for the president.

Biden also is ahead in Wisconsin and Michigan, but the race appears to be much closer in other battleground states including Pennsylvania, Florida, Arizona and North Carolina.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted online, in English, throughout the United States. It gathered responses from 2,649 American adults, including 1,039 who said they had voted for Trump or were planning to vote for him, and 1,153 who said they were similarly backing Biden.

The poll has a credibility interval, a measure of precision, of 4 percentage points.

Political division was bad before, and made infinitely worse by Trump fueling the culture wars. I fucking hate him, and would throw a can of soup at his big fucking (and balding) head.

This is exactly what Putin wanted.

What's fucked up about that ad is that it shouldn't be a political ad.  Pull the last lines about voting for Biden, and add in some lines about maintaining social distancing and wearing masks, to reduce the number of families that have to go through this shit, and put it out as a PSA.  That is an ad the government should be running, not running from.  But the traitors are more worried about maintaining power than protecting people.

Exactly. The lack of a national education campaign on simple shit we could all be doing to get this under control is infuriating. We do not have to be where we are now.

I guarantee you the polls his campaign actually shows Trump have him winning in every battleground state.

Yep. Trump probably believes the fake polls he's shown to make him feel happy. And then relies on them to direct the campaign. No one's brave enough to tell them they're fake.

More likely, the campaign's about broke and they have to take toss up states for granted to have spend to make up ground in states where they're farther behind like PA. Make no mistake, all signs point to Trump losing.

Warnock may get close to 50 in GA next week. It will be a big miss if he falls just short and then has a run-off when it's the only race on the ballot. It's doubtful the run-off would anywhere as much attention and could easily swing back to the GOP candidate winning.

Control of the Senate could be at stake. If so, get ready for a $100 million runoff.

It may be too late for mail in votes in WI.

Anyone know what WI's ballot instructions say on when to mail. If it's "Must be returned by election day, so mail at least 3 days before election" and then first class mail just happens to slow down after Supreme court said late ballots won't count, that sounds like a way to steal a state to me. We should be outraged already.
