  1. I want to buy a 6.5 bolt rifle this year because of largely made up reasons, but nominally because most of my rifles are way overpowered for central Texas whitetail hunting. I’m definitely set on a bolt vs AR platform and would like something with either a laminate or fiberglass stock, no walnut or crappy plastic. My brand loyalty is nonexistent and I have Weatherby, Ruger, Howa and Savage bolt guns currently. Price range in the $1000-$2000 range is what I’m expecting. Hit me with your best options.
  2. I thought JT Daniels would be about 28 by now and couldn’t believe he was still in college. But apparently he’s just 22 and Covid has made the last couple years feel like an eternity. Good luck to these QBs or whatever.
  3. All set on the EHT, but I still think it’s a better use of funds than a $90 ER pick.
  4. Ha, wow. I’ll let my spare six different ER picks (no distiller selects) go for the low low price of 750 or a 19 GTS or a PHC wheat.
  5. Eh, probably not. They routinely go for $80 secondary but after doing a blind with more than a dozen different ER picks I would say they’re all pretty close and generally good. On average they’re maybe 10% better than standard ER. I have I have a bunch of these sitting around waiting to get opened and I normally just crack a basic ER instead.
  6. So that’s the shelving you need to store OFBB. But he went 6 in a row, 6 again, then 5, then 4. Clearly he should have gone 6,6,5,5. Don’t trust him now, would not buy.
  7. Hadn’t played in a bit, coming back in strong. Wordle 427 3/6 ⬜⬜⬜🟨⬜ 🟨🟩⬜⬜🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  8. I’ve driven from CA to Geurrero Negro twice to surf. That town itself kinda sucks but there are just endless vacant point breaks north of it where you can camp, surf and fish in almost solitude. Highly recommend. I also don’t mind Todos, but it’s been a few years (‘19 I think) and maybe now it’s overrun. At that time we went to a street carnival in their old town square and ate $0.50 tacos with $1.00 beers and watched a band play off the alternator of a running ‘94 Suburban with maaaaybe three other white people in attendance. The Baja coast is pretty close to paradise and is something like 90% undeveloped which is the complete opposite of Southern California.
  9. It’s like what HH Bottled in Bond wishes it could be. That extra proof really makes it shine.
  10. That OE 7 is very good. Saw some for $27 up in Alaska this summer and grabbed it, had to be some kind of pricing mistake.
  11. This is the way. We finished our place in Alaska last year and will be spending summers up there and winters somewhere warm and probably not in America when the time comes. I just want to be near the water where I can do a little fishing and a lot of reading and walking and eating good food. Maybe baha north of Cabo, but I’m open. Buying definitely seems like a waste of time and money.
  12. It’s pretty decent, but the Lucky 13 MGP bottles sitting on the shelf last year at $105 blow it out the water.
  13. Back in Juneau for another run at salmon and halibut. Spent tonight at the beach in like 65* sunshine watching my boy warm up on the pink salmon with his 8 wt. Tomorrow we’ll be out 35-40 miles into Icy Strait wrecking the silver salmon. IMG_2372.MOV
  14. Maybe it’s boomer humor from before I got there in ‘84.
  15. Ha, maybe in the winter.
  16. Just left the mountains outside of Asheville and it was 96*. The US is on full broil right now. Except Juneau where I’ll be next week with highs in the low 60s.
  17. That’s this year’s barrel proof? I feel like Woodford owes me one after that five malt stouted.
  18. First big front missed wide left in 78738, then a little spot jumped up for a direct 5 minute downpour hit. Beautiful.
  19. I haven’t had that many, but I still think you forgot to add “getting hit by a truck” in front of 5.
  20. Damn, so much disappointment could be had for only six bills.
  21. No. That’s why I have two and plans to be the commercial fishing equivalent of a gentleman rancher when I retire.
  22. I’ve tasted all the special ryes side by side and would say toasted is head and shoulder better, but $175 better is a question I ask myself a lot.
  23. I feel like I’ve seen it at $400 or so, but probably not for a ‘17. I think I snagged this when secondary was like $215 and I have had plenty of bottles I liked less for $400.
  24. RIP my 2017 Michter’s Toasted Rye. It was a banger and probably my favorite toasted product ever.
