  1. I’m not sure why I’m still up watching this team, but I’m amused.
  2. I’m halfway through one 2 oz pour of a 12 year 4 Roses OESO and don’t know whether to laugh or cry about that being the high point of this season. But yeah, that was the high point.
  3. I thought it was stupid until he lit Wazzu up in the only game I saw in person this year. Check that, still stupid, but I’m willing to tolerate it.
  4. That was a savage hit on that sweep. Refs already f’ing this up with that spot tho.
  5. I like the 17 BiB a ton, finished one and on my second along with having 3 backups. Cornerstone only exists to prove that Rare Breed Rye doesn’t have to be so angry. I need to find one of the OG 17 year low proofers so I can say for sure.
  6. Ha, underrated 15 year callback.
  7. I mean, it’s 17 year. Still less oaky than EC18.
  8. My tall cull Buck just won’t come back. I’ve been watching this 9 all morning but it looks like -1 yr version of the one my wife shot so I have to pass. Also some does and spikes, enough to keep things interesting at least and beats the hell out of shopping.
  9. They were saying in the hunting thread that girls with ranches are prettier, but I’d say not as pretty as girls with Pappy and WLW hookups.
  10. Man, what a letdown. But, you know, pm me if your luck changes. No S-W here tonight, but I’m going in on some Turkey. The middle one is an old label Rickhouse G Russell’s pick that’s crazy fruity like a Buffalo Trace product. The Kentucky Spirit is a 10 year pick that Spec’s had on the shelf last year for months despite it being really damn good.
  11. Truth, it’s just OK. I have an Act 6 from a few years back and it’s still 2/3 full. I’move traded a few away and would do it again at the values they bring now.
  12. I love Weatherby, but please hold up on any re-bluing. That looks to be in great shape and their blueing is incredibly hard to improve on. Also chill on the scope, but maybe look at getting that stock refinished.
  13. Back out for the evening after checking the cam and seeing one of my full targets routinely showing up in the evening. He has maybe a 2”-3” gap between his G2s and seems to be representing the bad genetics at our place. The good genes are making 2.5 year old 10s, so there’s that.
  14. Brutal. That’s what I bring to dinner parties instead of wine.
  15. Two little 8 points finally came in, looks promising for two years out. I was hoping for a fight because the second one was rubbing trees and pawing the ground, but apparently they’re just here for breakfast.
  16. Also, I’m back in the blind this morning and it’s hot AF. Not my favorite but feels like pig weather.
  17. 300 blk is great for kids. Both my older boys took their first deer with a Ruger American in that chambering. My youngest shot it for the first time at 7 and didn’t think the recoil was much different than a 10/22, just louder. It will definitely put down a whitetail or pig.

Weird, I was thinking the same thing about USC.

Chip is big mad. I can’t remember the last time I saw an unsportsmanlike against a coach. Also, USC minus Drake London just isn’t that fun.
  20. Sometimes a thread wanders right into your wheelhouse.
  21. More like bad strategy on not pivoting their discharge permit back to TLAP when TCEQ loosened the rules on permanent credit for up to 70% of irrigation under 210 beneficial re-use rules, but whatever. Instead they’re stuck battling Chris Harrington/City of Austin and the environmentalists in a drawn out appellate court case. As Hefeweizen mentioned it’s not really slowing down currently entitled deals which constitute thousands of paper and paper-ish lots in the corporate limits and ETJ. The city had good folks working on most angles, but they probably underestimated how hard it was going to be to get the new plant on the ground and running while Covid drove the market to absolute frenzy.
  22. I was born and raised there and we are headed up for two weeks at Christmas. Dudes (it’s never ladies) have been known to fall in love with the place and never return down south. Hope you have a great time up there, but Anchorage still sucks. It’s the Houston of Alaska.
  23. Funny, but in reality I’d probably get all jittery and miss. Nothing gets that big around our hill country place. I’m holding out hope for a 12 even if that’s probably a pipe dream.
  24. Love that setup, I have the same gun in 300 blk with a Vortex 1.5x6 on top and it’s a great little gun. I can’t believe how slick, refined and accurate they can make a $450 bolt gun these days.
  25. Yeah, that makes it more obvious. They both have that stripe thing going on the right hock, too. For a minutes I thought it was my red heeler who’s never been out to this ranch. It mostly threw me off because 95% of our hogs on this place are black with about 5% spotted Jersey cow style.
