  1. I feel stupid asking, but this is a pig on the left in the second pic, right? Also finally have some decent deer coming in at the new setup. No shooters yet so I’m going to try to cull that super tall/narrow 8 that I posted previously with my .460 S&W.
  2. I had 3 last night because I hadn’t dabbled in the LBs for a while. Man, it did not hold up to Stagg Jr 16 at all. Very flat and peanuty in comparison.
  3. Cracked a Stagg Jr 16 (can we call it old label now?) and it’s damn good. You could do worse even if you have to pay $250 secondary for it.
  4. I just have the CYPB to flex with my tater shelf of wheater madness. I’ll trade it because while I like it, it’s not any better than an OWA pick.
  5. Correction, pretty solid Travis County 9 point.
  6. Spent an hour watching this guy and my wife just shot a wide 8 from our other blind. About time to go see if it’s laying down. Also, the new iPhone 13 pro can almost take decent 115 yd pics When apple gets that figured out then I’ll be truly impressed
  7. Jack Daniel’s single barrel barrel proof WB Saffell (375ml) Knob Creek 12 1792 Full Proof barrel pick Makers FAE 01 or 02 Also second the Bowman Single Barrel
  8. I could use a little belly warming pour right now.
  9. 36* with fog, a real damp cold. Out here with my 15 year old seeing if there are any dumb ones looking to die as early as possible in the season.
  10. Spec’s had some 10 year single barrel picks last year that were excellent. It’s what 101 wishes it still was.
  11. The only other gun I like to carry on Admiralty is a BAR in 300 win mag, so the .460 will be much lighter.
  12. Lots of wheel gun and lever talk lately, I like it. Went to the range two weeks ago and shot my Grandad’s old S&W Model 28 and the new S&W 460 that my wife bought me. After warming up with some .45 Colt I let it rip with the .460 mag. Oh. My. God. It’s life changing power that you can feel into the depths of your soul. Bears in Alaska will shrink in fear. Bonus pic of my wife with the Model 28.
  13. Guy at Spec’s should put down the pipe.
  14. He tore it up last night against a comically bad Arizona team. I mean terrible even by PAC 12 standards.
  15. The most impressive thing I saw all year was the Marble Falls freshman team. I’m not sure how they managed to teach those kids to tackle, but holy balls they hit hard and wrapped up.
  16. That was a bad quarter for LT but they put it together well before halftime. This was my first Varsity game of the season and I wasn’t overly impressed.
  17. The only good thing I can say about Jeep mechanicals is that nothing has ever broken on the four I’ve owned that I couldn’t fix myself. But oh Lord, the breaking.
  18. This is accurate. Yard stunk for a week and my hav a hart stayed outside for a year the last time I did this.
  19. Pappy 23 WLW Pappy 15 GTS Pappy 20 ER 17 Lot B ORVW Handy Getting hit by a truck Saz 18 *rankings on taste, not retail or secondary pricing. If you’re paying then Saz 18 (Buffalo Trace years) is even more laughable and Pappy 23 isn’t 2x better than WLW
  20. Damn. Talk about working smarter instead of harder. I’m jealous of that setup, but no way that low slung 45’ long truck/trailer combo would make it down our hill country lease goat trail.
  21. I built a wood jig to support it on the flat bed, then cut six steel pipe rollers and jacked up the blind with a floor jack and inserted the rollers. I tied the blind off to another truck and then moved the flatbed forward. Then I installed two legs on the blind and kept moving on the rollers. Finally I flipped the jig around and had my boys stand on it to lever it while installed the other two legs. My stand is 3 miles down a tough to access road, but even then I can’t recommend this unless you absolutely have to do it.
  22. Ha, you could live in something like that.
  23. Can’t remember who said Atascosa when I asked about blinds, but I finally picked up a 5x7 and put it up today. What a huge pain in the ass, not sure how this normally gets done but I’m pretty sure it’s not like I did with an improvised roller system off the bed of a Home Depot truck that I rode hard and put away wet after scraping every rock and cedar in Travis County. Anyway, I have a massive new blind so that’s fun.
  24. ‘18 GT350 in Leadfoot Gray.
  25. I’ve been wanting to participate in this thread for a while and now I’m finally back in the classic game after a 10 year break. This will be my running project vehicle and manual transmission teaching platform when my 15 year old gets his permit in two weeks. For whatever reason it’s the ‘50-‘52 body style despite a 12 of ‘53 manufacture date on a Willys M38. Non-original 134 motor and a hilarious mix of decades of parts. It needs a bonded title and antique plates to be on the road but I’ll definitely get that done for Saturday morning taco runs when it’s not hunting season.
