  1. Is there a mercy rule if you’re up by 10 after 6 1/2 and also have 10 HBP even if it’s the tournament? Maybe give it a catchy name like the Fairfield Rule.
  2. Had it at Moonshine. It’s better than standard like Blanton’s Gold but it won’t blow your mind.
  3. Our local club got one of those and it’s pretty damn good. I helped with the pick but haven’t cracked my bottle yet. I really wish they’d use the square bottles like the distillery releases for the private barrels and leave that stupid shelf hog tater bottle for the shelf product.
  4. 150th is super meh. Traded mine almost immediately and no regerts. If you want something similar just grab an OFBS for 1/3 the price. Also, I hate that Whiskey Cake list because there’s no obvious winner in terms of value.
  5. I’ll PM you my address. How many barrels did you get to pick from?
  6. Yep, but they had about 12 sitting out. I haven’t seen a 12 yr barrel pick since last year either.
  7. Oh. Hell. Yes. This one is a banger. I didn’t realize Lucky 13 was a single barrel rather than a batch like the Vaults trash. This one is from Spec’s and at the highest range of the proofs for the 50 single barrels released. It has those leather and cigar notes I love in MGP plus a cobbler/baking spice note. Highly recommended at $10 more than I last paid for the more watered down and younger Rebecca Creek 12.
  8. So now errbody is pulling out beyond duplication and gold veins? My family is the worst.
  9. It’s tough to beat for 12 year MGP chilling on the shelf. Although it’s gone within the day in Austin so that’s not even really accurate.
  10. You crack any of those bottles at Kalahari?
  11. Finally got the trade done and the Grandma’s Closet OWO is now the new king of my wheated hype shelf. Everything gets opened around here eventually but I might have to stare at this one for a bit.
  12. I don’t understand $300 ETL at all for drinking purposes. If you just need one for your tater shelf I guess I understand playing a FB for it, but otherwise it just makes no sense. It feels like people who would normally gamble for actual dollars in Vegas are now exclusively gambling on bourbon and it’s hell on the market.
  13. Marshmallow, not bonfire. But nowhere near as marshmallow as Rare Perfection 15.
  14. Nah, just poured it last week for people who’d never had it. But when that bottle is gone I’m buying something else instead.
  15. Interesting. After a year with an open Balmorhea I might rather have 0 bottles and $160.
  16. Can’t say that I’ve ever seen it behind a bar. It’s only $200 secondary and should easy to flip out of even if it’s open on the off chance you don’t like it.
  17. 2018/2019 JD Heritage Barrel is the best of the brand in my opinion. This year’s rye special edition is fine, but it doesn’t do anything better than MGP in the 8-10 year range other than be really hot.
  18. I’m not sure if “identifying values in European whiskey auctions” counts as a legitimate hobby to take up during Covid, but I have to admit I’m crushing it.
  19. A successful week of trading and waiting for auction buys to roll in. I already know that ‘18 GTS and ‘17 THH go hard, but I’m pumped for this barrel pick Bernheim.
  20. Exactly. That was secondary about a year and a half ago. Barrel Strength is better than M10 rye so even at $160 you’re winning.
  21. Is this where I offer to send a shipping tag and you see a nice little bump in your Venmo?
  22. Hard to get too excited about more NAS Barton product no matter what proof.
  23. Had some samples then traded my batch 2 for an EHTBP, no ragrets.
  24. It’s good, but I prefer II. Haven’t tried I or IV and would guess that the Rebecca Creek 12 would beat out the III blind.
