  1. Crack that Grand Cru and tell us how it is. And yes, trading up is always a good trade.
  2. The SH14 was cheaper at my Spec’s and I think I got the general idea of what small batch 14 year Barton tastes like so I didn’t bother grabbing a Calumet. The SH14 was a great value this summer in age stated tater bourbon.
  3. I cracked the Woodford Master’s Batch 16 last night and have to admit it’s pretty damn good. Right down the fairway of sweet, oaky bourbon even if it’s pretty low proof. I’ll do a side by side with a couple other similar options like WT Diamond and W12 and see what comes out on top. It’s a buy if $119 doesn’t matter to you and you want to try it. Oh, and the weird neck poured well and the giant stopper isn’t actually that big.
  4. Yeah, thousands of people know about Oak Liquor Cabinet and call him relentlessly about Blanton’s.
  5. Toasted isn’t really very good. I traded two away for other bottles after opening one. B520 is supposed to be great, tho. Crack that and try it with another ECBP if you have one. I’ve only seen them in co-packs at Twin and I’ll be damned if I’m choking down a White Walker to get a B520.
  6. Slovis and the best WR group in America finally woke up.
  7. If we somehow pull this off it’s going to be one of those wins that feels like losing.
  8. Picked up one of these today and it’s actually not age stated. Apparently it contains the 17 yr but is blended with lower age product. Not sure why people can’t figure out how to do special releases just a bit better.
  9. Daaaamn. What do you get for being his spiritual guide?
  10. Daaaamn. What do you get for being his spiritual guide?
  11. I’ve made some old fashioneds with Stagg Jr and they went hard. Kinda tempted to crack my Handy and make a bougie AF Sazerac Sazerac.
  12. And 1 and 4. 1 is just completely unmemorable. Somebody could refill my chapter 1 with Knob 12 and I wouldn’t notice. I recall it being generically Bourbon-ish despite having some fairly oddball components in the blend.
  13. This is my favorite book.
  14. I can get behind this hyping of cheap Barton handles. Y’all need to snap this stuff up!
  15. Batch 3 is still shelf turding it up everywhere for $199 and MSRP is up $99? Right. Not sure where they came from but Twin has been breaking out a few batch 1 rye lately for $202.99. That’s basically secondary value but it’s good enough that I bought a spare
  16. 2020 BTACs are in. Picked up a GTS and also traded for a ‘19 GTS which I swapped for a ‘20 Handy.
  17. Buy two, sell one and call it even?
  18. Never listen to Bill. But it’s actually really good. A better 4 yr rye than WFE for sure.
  19. $59 at Spec’s all summer long on the shelf. I had two backups so I didn’t grab more, but rumor has it that flow has been cut off by Heaven Hill so maybe I should have.
  20. Old Ezra 7 is a Luxco brand now using Heaven Hill sourced bourbon at barrel proof. It’s damn good and $39 but has a secondary value of $75 or so and can be hard to find.
