  1. Elmer T Lee on estrogen, right? Nothing wrong with lower proof but that’s a weird comparison.
  2. I can find it for $31.99 routinely in Austin, but it’s not easy. In North Carolina it’s like Beam white label.
  3. I haven’t tried any of their finished options because I like bourbon that tastes like bourbon. A side by side of Jr and the Belle Meade would be interesting, but pretty sure the Belle would win for me.
  4. If you haven’t tried the Belle Meade Cask Strength for $55-ish you’re missing out. It’s like a slightly hotter EHT Single Barrel only easier to find and typically cheaper. Lots of Spec’s have it around Austin.
  5. I’m going to need to step my game up. 20 open bourbon and ryes plus two unopened that I need to bring home from the office.
  6. Went for the ER from peer pressure. It’s good but I want to try a store pick.
  7. Yes, my last one was just under 9 lbs and squeezed into the 11” bag. That’s what she said.
  8. I think the real humblebrag is a flooded lake house. Or maybe not.
  9. Daaamn. Sent my mom to look at our marina on lake Travis since we are on vacation in Mexico and West Beach road already had 4’ of standing water on it this AM. Another 10’ would be nuts.
  10. 687 is so 1.5 hours ago. Kissing up against 689 now. Llano is still flowing at 2.5 AC-FT/Sec with the Colorado arm about to start ripping as well.
  11. Probably has a maraschino cherry or three and a huge slice of orange. Kill it with fire.
  12. They also have old label Elijah Craig barrel proof and WT101 8 yr age stated. I think you can go up to 5 bottles for $103 shipping if you want to go big. But you’re right, Gold is the best you can buy routinely for that price.
  13. I had it and liked more than W12. Didn’t hurt that I was paying $14 and went three deep. Third one went down very easy.
  14. That’s not a bad deal right there. Hell of a night of sampling for things you never see at 99% of bars. You can stumble into a $20-$30 THH or GTS pour but not all 5.
  15. You can find handles of WSR all day in the Austin area for $32.99. W12 for $399 could be one of the biggest bourbon disappointments of all time. I’ve been pouring W12 for friends who haven’t had it because it’s about 75% as good as RY10 in my book.
  16. It’s good, but I wouldn’t pay that for it when I could get a Willet 4 yr plus an EH Taylor straight rye and high west rendezvous combo for the same price.
  17. Nah, but I do a mean redneck sous vide and it’s really amazing.
  18. Nah, bark will be fine out of the bag if you let it rest and cool slightly before bagging it. Nobody could tell it was yesterday’s brisket the last time I did it.
  19. Pretty sure that’s normal price for the 40mm stainless version. I have that watch and it’s great even if it’s not on sale. Not sure I’d go matte on a kind of dressy watch anyway.
  20. Yeah, no. You’ll get WSR and you’ll like it.
  21. The calm before the BTAC. EH Taylor in general is around right now. Worth finding a single barrel but small batch isn’t bad for under $40.
  22. I found a Willett Family Estate 4 yr Rye and ECBP B518 on the shelf today. Passed up an EHT Single Barrel because I have a few pours left and an EHT Straight Rye because I got impatient and bought one on BSM last week. It’s out there in central Texas.
  23. Gold slams and goes hard. Congrats.
