  1. I’m going to need to step my game up. 20 open bourbon and ryes plus two unopened that I need to bring home from the office.
  2. Went for the ER from peer pressure. It’s good but I want to try a store pick.
  3. Yes, my last one was just under 9 lbs and squeezed into the 11” bag. That’s what she said.
  4. I think the real humblebrag is a flooded lake house. Or maybe not.
  5. Daaamn. Sent my mom to look at our marina on lake Travis since we are on vacation in Mexico and West Beach road already had 4’ of standing water on it this AM. Another 10’ would be nuts.
  6. 687 is so 1.5 hours ago. Kissing up against 689 now. Llano is still flowing at 2.5 AC-FT/Sec with the Colorado arm about to start ripping as well.
  7. Probably has a maraschino cherry or three and a huge slice of orange. Kill it with fire.
  8. They also have old label Elijah Craig barrel proof and WT101 8 yr age stated. I think you can go up to 5 bottles for $103 shipping if you want to go big. But you’re right, Gold is the best you can buy routinely for that price.
  9. I had it and liked more than W12. Didn’t hurt that I was paying $14 and went three deep. Third one went down very easy.
  10. That’s not a bad deal right there. Hell of a night of sampling for things you never see at 99% of bars. You can stumble into a $20-$30 THH or GTS pour but not all 5.
  11. You can find handles of WSR all day in the Austin area for $32.99. W12 for $399 could be one of the biggest bourbon disappointments of all time. I’ve been pouring W12 for friends who haven’t had it because it’s about 75% as good as RY10 in my book.
  12. George T Stagg.
  13. It’s good, but I wouldn’t pay that for it when I could get a Willet 4 yr plus an EH Taylor straight rye and high west rendezvous combo for the same price.
  14. Nah, but I do a mean redneck sous vide and it’s really amazing.
  15. Nah, bark will be fine out of the bag if you let it rest and cool slightly before bagging it. Nobody could tell it was yesterday’s brisket the last time I did it.
  16. Pretty sure that’s normal price for the 40mm stainless version. I have that watch and it’s great even if it’s not on sale. Not sure I’d go matte on a kind of dressy watch anyway.
  17. Yeah, no. You’ll get WSR and you’ll like it.
  18. The calm before the BTAC. EH Taylor in general is around right now. Worth finding a single barrel but small batch isn’t bad for under $40.
  19. I found a Willett Family Estate 4 yr Rye and ECBP B518 on the shelf today. Passed up an EHT Single Barrel because I have a few pours left and an EHT Straight Rye because I got impatient and bought one on BSM last week. It’s out there in central Texas.
  20. Gold slams and goes hard. Congrats.
  21. You need to try sealing it in a vac bag and reheating in a 160* water bath. Redneck sous vide in a cooler is fine, but the results are incredible. I’ll never reheat a whole brisket or large portion any other way again.
  22. Accurate.
  23. Save your money and get the gold. I have all three and my gold is down to the last pour while my SiB and SFTB have 6 oz gone. The gold is just the best, easily the finest bourbon you can have show up on your doorstep for $120.
  24. Cochon was on point, especially for lunch and for drinking $14 Weller CYPB pours. Restaurant August was strong to quite strong for the French/Cajun/New American vibe and the best service we had anywhere in New Orleans. La Boca was also a great choice (Argentinian steakhouse) for something more low key and less crowded but still excellent steaks. Bourbon street sucked, I don’t get it.
  25. Great looking watch and the best of the three for sure. I have the Lander GMT and have been wearing it more than the rest of my small collection combined.
