Made myself a flight board to hold the glencairn glasses Only took me about 10 hours because I’m the slowest wood/metal worker of all time. Top is 3/16 steel cut and die ground to hold the glass bases perfectly. The wood base is granadillo with leather straps to lift held with brass Chicago screws
I haven’t tried any of their finished options because I like bourbon that tastes like bourbon. A side by side of Jr and the Belle Meade would be interesting, but pretty sure the Belle would win for me.
If you haven’t tried the Belle Meade Cask Strength for $55-ish you’re missing out. It’s like a slightly hotter EHT Single Barrel only easier to find and typically cheaper. Lots of Spec’s have it around Austin.
Daaamn. Sent my mom to look at our marina on lake Travis since we are on vacation in Mexico and West Beach road already had 4’ of standing water on it this AM. Another 10’ would be nuts.
They also have old label Elijah Craig barrel proof and WT101 8 yr age stated. I think you can go up to 5 bottles for $103 shipping if you want to go big. But you’re right, Gold is the best you can buy routinely for that price.
That’s not a bad deal right there. Hell of a night of sampling for things you never see at 99% of bars. You can stumble into a $20-$30 THH or GTS pour but not all 5.
You can find handles of WSR all day in the Austin area for $32.99. W12 for $399 could be one of the biggest bourbon disappointments of all time. I’ve been pouring W12 for friends who haven’t had it because it’s about 75% as good as RY10 in my book.
It’s good, but I wouldn’t pay that for it when I could get a Willet 4 yr plus an EH Taylor straight rye and high west rendezvous combo for the same price.
