  1. If you like it I guess. It’s at least interesting if a bit unlovable. If I had to spend $200+ on Texas bourbon I’d go with Still Austin for $38 and put the $162 on the Utah money line next time they play USC.
  2. Wheated is good, probably better than the young MGP like white label Redemption. Way different profile than Weller or Heaven Hill wheated, but decent in its own right. Of the two the Old Soul is vastly superior but 2x the price.
  3. Hang tight, I’ll try it.
  4. This Ft. Benning pick is legit, quality MGP. Looking forward to the Bardstown wheated.
  5. Exactly. As the right prices for some decent bourbons.
  6. 18 GTS makes many things taste disappointing in comparison. But I’d you’re in Austin I’ll trade you a Russell’s single Rickhouse for that open Coy.
  7. Haven’t had this one in quite a while either. Better than I remembered and pretty funny what a shelf turd this was back in the day.
  8. I think it has been open around 5 years, for a while those were showing up older than 10 years or with dump dates from years prior. this one has been compared side by side with plenty of other bourbons and it’s never come out on top. It’s better than plenty of other options and isn’t bad by any stretch. I’ve had plenty of bottles open for years and haven’t noticed significant degradation. With that said I re-organized last month and I’m on a mission to kill bottles that are 1/3 or less full.
  9. Finally finished this bottle of Rebel Yell 10 from ‘16. It wasn’t quite Heaven Hill’s best work. Too much peanut on the nose and generic vanilla/oak on the palate. I’m not sure I’ll need to buy these anymore as the MGP and other brands of wheaters get older.
  10. I got clowned by the storm, ended up dropping it Friday instead of Tuesday. They are backed up and I should have it back tomorrow or Saturday. I’m trying to remain calm because that storm wasn’t anybody’s fault.
  11. I’d buy any GTS at $400 including the generally cheapest and least sought after one of the series, which is ‘19. The first bottle I ever bought on the secondary was an ‘18 for $375 and I still have a little left. I like to drink it with good steaks and on special occasions and have no regrets.
  12. Yes, but this feels like a trick because there’s no ‘21 GTS.
  13. I know I did, highly recommend at anything under secondary.
  14. I’ve been defrauded by several legitimate businesses and zero whiskey strangers on the internet. You should be fine.
  15. This right here, also grabbed one Wednesday at a mom n pop. They seem to be everywhere.
  16. Those are some hitters. 2022 GTS is probably one of the best bourbons I’ve ever had in my life and definitely better than this year’s WLW. But I’m not surprised that RC 16 was way up there. It was probably my favorite somewhat easy to find bourbon of ‘22 and it’s hilarious to me that its secondary value is maybe $75 over retail.
  17. I feel like I got you into some secondary groups and caused you to hate all collections and allocated bourbon. Sorry if I ruining it for you with fruit from T he tree of knowledge. If it makes you feel any better I have pretty much all of this open (and more) and many people have enjoyed drinking at my bar.
  18. Those are Chapter 4, I quit buying them after Chapter 5. Chapter 2 is what got me into the series because I have a soft spot for that weird ass 40 y/o corn whiskey. I highly recommend any of the Chronicles bottles to anybody with $215 who’s bored with bourbon.
  19. I did a little organizing (caught the Covid and I’m bored) today and moved all my unopened bottles except the top shelf out of our pantry and the bar. Found a couple I thought I’d traded but apparently I’m down a Barterhouse 20 so that sucks. If anybody wants to trade a shitty Stagg Jr Batch 1 for a good batch I got you.
  20. It’s going in on the 31st for a full front plus rockers and front edge of rear quarters package. Can’t wait to get this knocked out plus the break-in so I can really let it rip. I did a little run under 4k rpm on Fitzhugh yesterday and the supercharger torque already has me addicted.
  21. Thanks, I’ll see what the wait is.
  22. They should put the flat plane v8 from the new Z06 in one and call it the Z28. And speaking of the Corvette, that new E-ray looks great. I love the idea of the Z06, but I’m not a track guy and the E-Ray would probably be a lot more fun, comfortable and faster on the street.
  23. $79.5K OTD which is about $3500 under MSRP.
