  1. Tucker is 12.5% plott hound, 37.5% German shepard, 50% Lab. 100% asshole This was his first trip to the vet. Had to put a muzzle on because he bit the shit out of the vet tech
  2. I was in vegas playing at a tournament at binion's downtown when there was a big commotion at the table behind me. I looked and a big fat old guy was on the ground. I stood up and started to head over to start cpr but thankfully the guy sitting next to me was an EMT and pushed me out of the way. Guy was dead when he hit the floor. Ambulance came, they gave him a few shocks then got him on the stretcher and put a sheet over him and took him away. The whole time his wife was sitting there bawling. She said he'd been having chest pain all week but was going to get it looked at when he got back home. They gave the widow his buy in back, and a small collection from players. Ten minutes later cards were in the air. I'll be up at the lodge tomorrow and find out more about it.
  3. go go go
  4. Something happened this week that I thought was less likely than cold fusion or time travel. Got a new battery for my wife's Honda CRV. We're planning on selling the car in a year or two so I just got the cheapest battery I could find at the advance auto parts near our house. $199 for a 440 CCA battery. Couple of years ago a similar battery was around $120. Had a battery go bad in the boat, Interstate 880 CCA. Figured it was going to be around $300. Unbelievably it was only $165 at South Austin Marine. First time in my life something with "Marine" stamped on it was cheaper than a car version of something similar.
  5. Whole time I was watching season 2 I kept thinking, "another fucking storyline? how about wrapping up some others first?"
  6. I've never had a single issue with them. The 2 times I've made a claim I had a number in my head of what I thought I should get and both times they made an offer that exceeded that by several thousand, unlike geico and state farm that I had to fight tooth and nail to get them to pay what was owed. My sister, my uncle, my sister's in-laws are all on it and have never had an issue. Both my uncle and my sister's father-in-law have told me stories about being in a wreck that wasn't their fault, getting the run around from the other persons insurance company, then telling the other insurance company they were going to let their insurance company deal with this, then telling them it's USAA and getting a check the next day. Apparently they have a reputation for being dicks to other insurance companies.
  7. I have USAA and although it's gone up 50% the last two years it's still way way cheaper than anything else I've found. They are also the easiest to deal with insurance company I've ever had.
  8. Never thought I'd get some more sports schendenfreude this week after the baseball coaching drama, but here we are. Max crying and saying it was Lando's fault and Horner agreeing and egging him on
  9. Luna's a good girl, Tucker's a good boy.
  10. I have 2. 100 pound lab/german shepard mix and a 60 pound black mouth cur. 1/2 cup costco food, 1 cup fresh twice a day Last batch was 1 pkg heb chicken boneless chicken thighs - $8 2 cups rice - $.25 1 egg - $.30 1 cup froze peas and carrots - $.25 total - $9 will last 4-5 days 40 pound bag Kirkland Signature Adult Formula Chicken, Rice and Vegetable Dog Food, - $49.99 bought bag around May 20th, going to get a new bag next week, so ~6 weeks so 9/4 * 7 = $15.75 a week for the fresh, $9 a week for dry =~ $25 a week to feed them when we did all dry the bag would last around 2-3 weeks depending on who was feeding them and how many times the dogs tricked my wife into thinking they hadn't been fed so $17-$25 per week
  11. Fucker owes me money. I hosted his website when he was running for something in the early 2000's, city council or mayor or something. They never paid their bill and once the election was over the phone number we had for them was dead. From that point on I charged all political campaigns up front.
  12. I cook fresh food for my dogs and mix it in with dry dog food. I rotate between chicken thighs, pork butt and anything cheap I find for meat, sweet potatoes and rice for starch, and add chicken hearts or gizzards about once a month and then add scrambled eggs and frozen peas and carrots. Costs around $20 a week, right around the cost of dry dog food from costco. I'd do full fresh but there are vitamins they'd miss and it's cheaper to just mix in the dry food than buying the different vitamins and minerals they need. I always assumed wolves just ate meat, but they get many nutrients from eating the intestines of the animals they eat. Those are the things that are added to commercial dog food that are missing from the fresh food I make.
  13. you are correct as Lastpass had a breach a year or so ago.
  14. You can get a 5-10% edge when counting and changing your bets. Watch the video above, even with a 10% edge the variance can be a bitch
  15. do you realize that I don't read every single thread on this board? I ban him the second I see him, how about you report him instead of just complaining about the moderation of him?
  16. He'd be over par if this was a regular 6 inch rough US open
  17. 2018 https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/news/politics/new-law-aimed-to-protect-skilled-card-players-but-whos-enforcing-it/article_210ec118-ece8-11e8-b728-934b308424f5.html I do have one person I know who moved to shreveport and makes a decent living, but from the article it doesn't look like the law is really enforced. In the late 90's I went up there about once a month. Probably only been back about 5 times in the last 25 years
  18. I probably pot on both turn and river. Hold em players playing a PLO bomb pot always overvalue their hands and call. People that play plo bomb pot only tables are there for the gamble and will call.
  19. Agree 100% it should be stopped. One of my kids was in a tournament and one of their opponents used it and did it every few feet from their ball to the hole. They literally stood over the hole on every green, stepping in everyone else's line without a care in the world. So every put my kid and the other players in the group had that was on a similar line or 90 degrees from them was through their stomps on the green.
  20. I don't know, haven't been there in years.
  21. Yes, from pit bosses I've talked to as long as others at the table are losing more than the counter is winning they don't really care too much. When they are winning more than the table is losing and it's into the thousands then they really start to care. If you haven't already you should watch this https://www.amazon.com/Inside-Edge-Professional-Blackjack-Adventure/dp/B07QMS68TC
  22. General rule is if count/(number of decks left) >+1 you should raise your bet. So if the count goes to +4 after the first hand, or is +3 when you are half way through or +1 near the end raise your bet. Really depends where you are at and what stakes you're playing for the amount of the raise. No one will really care if you go 4x your low bet, start getting closer to 10x your low bet and people may start watching. Also depends on stakes. $5-$50 probably won't matter, $25-$250 will. I went to Shreveport one time and ranging from $5 to $25 and the pit boss was staring me down. I brought my girlfriend the following week and would kick her under the table to raise her bet and she was going from $5 to $100 and they never even looked at her. Louisiana can no longer boot you for counting, you're free to range as big as you want. Never got any heat in Vegas last year going from $5 to $50.
