  1. paid. hopefully make it past week one this year
  2. I started watching before it was over and it cut off the end of the race. I then went back to the library and picked the race and it had the whole thing.
  3. What's funny is their corporate culture is still hardware is most important. They would rather sell a $10 million dollar hardware deal with a 3% profit margin and throw in EMC for free than sell $8 million worth of hardware and $2 million of software that has a 90% profit margin.
  4. Sales: We won't be able to sell this till we have feature X Eng: here's X Sales: We won't be able to sell this till we have feature Y Eng: here's Y Sales: We won't be able to sell this till we have feature Z
  5. My favorite dell story is a guy who had a deal at a large oil company to replace all of their desktops and had a second deal working at a different large oil company. Day before he closes deal 1 he gets his quota changed to a number bigger than the deal. Fucked him out of over $100k in commission. He leaves, the second deal doesn't go through, losing second deal costs dell tens of millions in sales. Biggest real world passing up dollars to pick up pennies I've ever heard. He goes to work at another computer company in town. Gets a big deal working, 2.5 times bigger than their previous year total sales for the company. New company hires the exec that fucked him at dell to be his new boss. She changes his comp package he quits, deal goes south, company no longer in business.
  6. I am shocked, shocked, this turned into a my team your team argument not remotely related to the op.
  7. I wonder how many more billions in sales dell would have if they didn't treat their sales team like absolute dog shit.
  8. It depends on the company. I've been places the salesperson got a spiff on renewals so they were all over the customer. At my current place our customer service department is 100% responsible.
  9. baker thread in football to discuss this topic.
  10. Put the boat in at 11am this morning at Lake Hills. 3 boats from there to the bridge. 4 boats from bridge to hula hut. Coming back around noon, zero boats between hula hut and bridge. At 3:30 13 boats between bridge and Lake Hills park.
  11. Probably not. An advertiser will pay per view of their ad. Netflix will sell them 100,000 views on show "x" or 100,000 views in Austin area on any show, the advertiser will not know how many times the show "x" was shown, they will just know it's >100,000.
  12. Now I'm starting to see people on foil boards (not sure correct name) 20-30 feet behind and 10-20 feet to the side of the wake boats. Had to come to a stop while pulling my kid on a wakeboard the other day as 2 boats were parked on the left side of the lake and wake/foil took up the entire right side of the lake.
  13. I don't think they did. Yeah, fucking unreal how people do that.
  14. Neighbor was trailering his boat when a wake boat went by. Lifted up the boat, turned it sideways and moved it forward. Prop came down on the trailer. So far just a broken prop but they are looking to see if anything else got moved around. Was tied up on the shoreline south west of the 360 bridge the other day and a wakeboat went through the whole no wake zone going 30+ leaving a couple of foot wave behind him.
  15. A few years ago I drove a few different 4runners. They essentially hadn't changed in years. The 1997 I drove had two main differences than the 2015 I drove. The stereo and the seats. So I bought the 1997 and put a new stereo and had the seats redone to match the original seats. Cost $1400 to do the pair, they were good as new and comfortable. I was able to sell them for $500 when I totaled the 4runner a few months later.
  16. When I was a member at Lost Creek I was a 10 playing a 22 handicap in the match play, giving him 6 shots a side. I shot a 38 on the front nine and was down 5 holes. I ended up shooting an 80 and he shot a 75. We were done after the 12th hole. He claimed "medical issues" that caused him to shoot higher on earlier rounds.
  17. PJ O'Rourke has a book called "all the trouble in the world" where he goes to a bunch of shitholes and tries to find people to get drunk with and have a good time. If you liked this story you'll like that book.
  18. I don't know if I posted it but I do remember it. short story https://jalopnik.com/the-first-people-to-drive-across-the-congo-in-20-years-5697358 full story/thread from the forum they posted on https://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/democratic-republic-of-congo-lubumbashi-to-kinshasa.50799/
  19. I came home one day a while back and there was blood splatter all over the house. One dog had bitten the other's ear and she kept shaking her head and spraying blood. Every once in a while I'd find new places she had gone. There were still spots in closets and other places we discovered when we were moving out 12 years later.
  20. 1. your bank was hacked and info was released somewhere 2. someplace you paid with ach was hacked and your info was released 3. bank employee stole info and released it 4. employee at a place you paid with ach got it and shared it
  21. Because it just takes a misclick or two from the end user to get some money. And/or they could set up a second account and use stolen credit card numbers to pay for it and get money that way.
  22. No, merchant doesn't get money till it's charged. Even if charged it's a few days before they get the money.
