  1. Most of my extended family is white trash in Tennessee and Florida and I have a pretty good idea how most of them think ... but idgaf because I cut all their sorry asses out of my life 35+ years ago. /csb
  2. Maybe MTV Bro shoulda voted for the FAA spending rather than against it.
  3. Huh. I remember seeing that one video and thinking it was odd, where you can see the plane on a parbolic arc, getting steeper as it approached the ground. I guess that would be explained by the nose trim down premise, but I'm certainly no pilot. Does that seem plausible? Disclaimer: I don't know shit about fuck.
  4. Trusty Kaitlan Collins (who imho is probably very frequently the smartest person in the room) lays out the truth about DEI in the FAA: Excellent report: https://x.com/kaitlancollins/status/1885318888235176438 (Sorry. She hasn't posted it on bsky. Hopefully the way I posted that link is ok. I assume it's aight since it didn't embed like they used to.)
  5. This is absolutely phenomenal. Taco trucks will vaccinate your 401K.
  6. Welp remember MTV Bro at Transportation? Saw this in another thread. Thanks @Francisco 2.0. NSIAP. If it was, I missed it.
  7. I was merely thinking more in terms of Trump complaining about, villifying, and blaming the Biden admin for a program that he not only let run through his term but that he possibly initiated. I agree 100% that DEI is not a problem, especially in the FAA where, as you say, the training is extremely demanding and it's a meritocracy. If you get through that training, you're good. Some context re: DEI and ATC, as you say, is important imho. Whether minority applicants were being favored over white males or not becomes less relevant once we acknowledge that the FAA cannot simply go out and hire as many controller trainees as it wants to or needs to at a given time. Like every other agency, they have budget constraints set by politicians. I myself took the ATC test in the 90s and despite scoring 100% on my first try, I was never hired. My mentor who was a high-ranking ATC in Houston at IAH said diversity hiring contributed to me not being hired, but stressed that the applicants who were being hired also scored as highly as I did. Did I like not being hired? No, but I really have no problem with someone else getting 'my' spot if they also scored well on the exam, and I know what the training environment for that job is like. It's extremely intense, as is the job.
  8. My apologies for asking this, as it may have already come up, but I've been away from the thread since last night and haven't had a chance to catch up yet. Now I'm reading elsewhere people saying that not only was this FAA DEI initiative active during the first Trump term - but he actually launched it. Can anyone verify that?
  9. Look at his face and reactions during that video. As I've suspected all along, he has no fucking idea what EOs these dipshits are bringing to him until they explain them to him. Then he goes 'Oh that seems like a good idea', and signs it. Holy fucking shit.
  10. Morten Morland cartoon set to appear in tomorrow's London Times ...

  12. Exactly what I expected to find when I clicked on the link. Same shit he's crying about from Obama and Biden was there during his admin.
  13. Eh, so, look at his face and reactions during that video. As I've suspected all along, he has no fucking idea what EOs these dipshits are bringing to him until they explain it to him. Then he goes 'Oh that seems like a good idea', and signs it. Holy fucking shit.
  14. And lol, would ya look at that ... https://www.faa.gov/newsroom/faa-provides-aviation-careers-people-disabilities In the text of that release, 'targeted disabilities' bit was a link. I clicked on it, and got a 404-File not found message. Interesting.
  15. ... and it's still less than 24 hours since the crash.
  16. Just got back & saw the new thread. So, MTV Bro Secretary of Transportation has already told us "Plane hit other plane. Not good!" - in his expert opinion, of course. What wisdom did Fox News Bro SecDef bestow upon us?
  17. ^ So, in other words, MTV bro fuckstick Duffy knows less about this shit than we do. "Let me be clear. Plane hit other plane. Not good!" FML.
  18. It's for safety. Most of those vehicles are on or very near public roadways, park access roads, etc, even when stationary. They may have people working around them, may have to reposition at a moment's notice, etc ...
  19. nsiap. Dunno if real. On a related note, don't care if real.
  20. Don't care if real ...
  21. Yeah taking the political temperature of the whole country based on Mobilehoma and Texas is a bold strategy.
