  1. So, who here had Tony Hinchcliffe in the 'October Surprise' column of their 2024 Presidential Election bingo card?
  2. I'm curious, does anyone know of a source for Hitler saying that back in 1934? It's not that I doubt it at all. I just want to be able to back it up when someone says he didn't say that. I've looked, and all that comes up right now is results about today at the rally.
  3. This fuckstick. I watched that. He reminds me of one of those union or mob 'muscle' guys. What a POS. He needs someone to fuck up his shit.
  4. One can only hope, but my 20 yo (who was a big fan and is probably the only reason I even know who Tony is) told me he's been being quite a self-important dbag lately, so who knows.
  5. Este. I'm guilty as well. Tony can be a very funny guy, but this wasn't funny. In a comedy club setting his comments of today would probably come off more on the sarcasm/irony/parody side ... but in this setting, they don't ring the same way and come off more as him expressing those hateful thoughts as his own. Maybe that's not how he meant it, but man, I don't see how he can justify it in a political setting such as that one. I'm done supporting him, too.
  6. Personally I believe there are probably a fair number of those older new/returning voters who are coming back out of fear of the damage Trump will do to the Republic.
  7. I was going to quote someone from earlier but now I can't find the post. The gist of the post was that they're skeptical of the idea that Republicans voting for Harris will be the difference that wins her the election. That's not what anyone is saying, to my knowledge. Kamala's going to win (and win fairly bigly imho), but it won't be because of any one group imho. It will be because of the broad coalition she's been building among women, young/new voters, black voters, brown voters, LGBTQ+ voters, white educated men, making inroads with white high school grad men, and the NeverAgainTrump voters. Apologies if I left anyone out. That is why Kamala will win.
  8. He's probably giving it to him for free either way, whether he knows it or not.
  9. Anyone know when that was recorded? I was at the game tonight, and now I see this. Fuckin' A, Pop. Got damn American hero.
  10. Yep. Exactly. I said it before and I'll probably say it again, I've been voting in Presidential elections since 1984, and I've never seen anything even remotely like this. And people have to realize these defections don't happen in a vacuum. When this many prominent Republicans are denouncing their party's own presidential candidate, there are a whole lot more voters that are thinking and doing the same. Kamala's gonna win, y'all.
  11. From that article: Oh yeah Don, it's really just as simple as 'raking the forest floor' ... you got damn imbecile. I mean ... what in the actual fucking fuck? Dude has no fucking clue about almost anything he talks about, but knows more than anyone about it.
  12. Fucking unbelievable. I knew about poll taxes, but I had no idea they were this steep or that they lasted so long.
  13. Of course! You may have done this already, but one great thing to do is to get a driver for the day who knows the history of the city, the ruins, etc, and let him/her drive you around for the day. Get your (typically very helpful) hotel staff to recommend someone. Oh, and as Crofty mentioned, the Lucha Libre is fantastic.
  14. Never been to the GP, but we might go next year, as Mrs. Wood (no pics) is dying to return to CdMx for Dia de Muertos. I have a buddy who goes to the GP every year. You may see him on the grid again this weekend. He says transportation is not necessarily easy, but it's doable, esp if you go earlier rather than later in the day. I think I'd be most interested in just doing Friday. Fun fact, on a typical day, there are over 4M riders on the CdMx Metro. FYI for any of you who like travelling to 'European' kinds of cities, go to Mexico City. It's a great place to visit. It's the most 'European' city I know of in North America outside of Montreal.
