  1. Actually the first three episodes are now available. Amazon releases at midnight GMT.
  2. I've read the first 10-12 books or so of Drizzt series and enjoyed them. I got sidetracked when I discovered Sanderson and Warhammer/W40k. After I'm done with the current W40k series I'm reading; I think I might finally restart Drizzt. Though I find it daunting as there are 30+ books now which is why I keep putting it off.
  3. Anyone read Warhamemr 40k? I've read the Eisenhorn and Ravenor books which I loved. I'm not into the table top games, but love many of the computer games that have come out over the years based on the IP. Currently reading the Gaunt's Ghosts series.
  4. I'm working on my first re-read of the first book. It does help having background and recognizing references to things I didn't know anything about at the time. I'll probably look at some kind of guide/notes at the end of each book as I'm sure there are things I'm still not connecting. There are 10 main novels plus several side and prequel novels which have been released over the years too. If you count those, there are 21 books to read. I thought a WoT back to back read was monumental, this would be epic. Not sure if I can do it or even want to.
  5. How about these: Malazan Book of the Fallen (fyi, this is a serious commitment but worth it. not the easiest read especially starting off) The Warded Man series Red Rising series (i binged read every novel so far. not sure what it is but i can't put the books down)
  6. You could try Feist. I liked his first two sets - Riftwar and Serpentqueen. There are a bunch more after that but I never really connected with the new characters in the same way I love Feist's Midkemia books and enjoyed all of them. Definitely the Riftwar and Serpentwar series are the best. Have you read The Empire Triology? I'd rate that just as good and it's from the perspective of the other side which is great.
  7. Sanderson. Start with the Mistborn triology or Stormlight Archive. FYI when Jordan died, Sanderson was picked to write the final 3 WoT books if you don't recognize the name.
  8. Another good series that I read a long time ago and forgot about till recently is The Farseer Trilogy and The Tawny Man Trilogy by Robin Hobb. She has other series set in this world too but the ones based on Fitz and the Fool are the best ones. I had read both of these in high school and forgot about them till a few weeks ago. I've re-read the first trilogy already and on the second one now. Also, I found that there is a third trilogy which was written in the past few years (The Fitz and The Fool Trilogy).
  9. I've read it a couple times, but the last time was probably 15 years ago. From what I remember, it is an enjoyable series overall. However, it is very slow and takes a long time to really get into the story. I'd put it on your todo list but only go there when you have nothing else to read.
  10. Anyone read Warhammer or Warhammer 40k novels? I'm a big fan of the both IPs. I was big into Warhammer Online when it was around. I've read several of the Gotrek and Felix novels in the past and liked those. I've read a few the Horus Heresey novels. The past couple months I've been reading the Gaunt's Ghosts series and on the 12th book already.
  11. It's not the bulb, it's the DLP light engine. It has to be replaced, don't think it can be repaired. Good luck finding parts if you try and fix it. You're pretty lucky for your set to have lasted this long. Mine went bad with in about 5 years.
  12. Just bought a new house and looking to buy a new mattress for it. I'm looking at buying a bed in a box which has become very popular the last several years. The top 3 I'm looking at: https://www.avocadogreenmattress.com/ https://sleeponlatex.com/ https://www.leesa.com/products/sapira-mattress If you want to look at a store, avoid the chain places like Mattress Firm, etc. Find an independent shop (ideally no comission) that sells brands besides the stuff you see at Mattress Firm (this includes Tempurpedic). Find out if there are any local mattress manufacturers in your area. If you're wanting to do some research then head over to: https://www.themattressunderground.com/mattress-forum.html
  13. Yep, I finished it up last week. It's a shame that Jordan passed away. I was wanting to get more stories about the Seanchan and Shara. Yeah Sanderson is a god. If you haven't read his Cosmere novels you need to start. It's amazing how quickly he pumps out books with such quality. Rothfuss and GRRM need to take some lessons from him on how to plan out your novels.
  14. I was referring just to the first book. It's been a several years since I read it. If I remember correctly, I thought the first third or so of the book was tough to get through. But once you got a sense of the main characters then things picked up quickly and I couldn't put it down. Since you've already gone through it once. I'd say look at a wikia/reading guide for that book to to get the main stories/arcs. Then try and listening/reading it again and see if that helps you enjoy it more.
  15. True. It's taken me about 6 months, but I'm on the last WoT book now. I'll probably do the Malazan series later in the year. I haven't read the latest Stormlight Archive novel yet and that's top of my list right now.
  16. +1 one of my favorites too. If you start this series be aware that it can be a bit difficult especially in the beginning The story just goes and mentions things that you have no idea about. The author doesn't spoon feed you all the details and you have to figure how things relate which can be both rewarding and frustrating. I'm currently re-reading all of the Wheel of Time books back to back. I'm planning to do the same with the Malazan series too and will probably look at a wikia/reading guide as I go. I'm sure there are alot of things I missed the first time around.
  17. Of course my first post has to be in this thread
