  1. I'm not sure I'd want Calipari in the age of NIL. He had great teams cause he bought great players, but he's also lost a lot of tournament games when he had a much superior roster than his opponent. If we could get Jay Wright, Billy Donovan, or Mark Few - then sign me up. Otherwise, let's roll with RT. He's certainly looked capable of coaching this year. And the most important thing is having the best talent. He's got a lot working in his favor to be able to attract the top players here: A deep tourney run gives him coaching cred He relates well with the players Texas has huge NIL advantages He's extremely likable, if a bit milquetoast Not for nothing - but a black head coach can only help
  2. Do you know it's bad? Are you sure? Or are you just parroting what you've read in this thread. How many of his Fresno State games did you watch? What was it about his UTEP roster construction that you think was wanting? Which part was so bad about taking over a terrible MWC team with a losing record and guiding them to a winning record over 7 seasons, including an NCAA tournament appearance and a .660 winning percentage over his last 3 years? I don't know if he's the answer, but there's reason to believe that he might be a good coach.
  3. Just so I'm clear, the posts advocating for Pitino, or Drew, or for Beard to have kept his job weren't retarded, because you posted those wishes with full knowledge that it would never happen. Got it.
  4. I don't care if she recanted, or charges weren't pressed, or he was found innocent, or any of that bullshit. He's a piece of shit woman beater, and doesn't deserve to be employed at the University of Texas. Period. There's nothing incompetent about integrity.
  5. No, what ultimately doomed his tenure was when he decided to choke and bite his girlfriend. The last few posts, wishing for Pitino, Drew, or to have kept Beard are comically retarded. It's like you have absolutely zero understanding of how the athletic department and administration work at Texas.
  6. You do realize that those two went to Utah, and not Utah State, right?
  7. In these situations I tend to go for a decent Four Roses or an Old Forester 1920 . Either one is usually easy to find, not super expensive, and they tend to drink easy.
  8. So I guess you're saying that Rodney Terry would make a great position coach, maybe a coordinator?
  9. If we play Aggy in the second round, I'm going to put $1000 on the A&M Money Line, just so I can have something to console me if we lose.
  10. Don't you get it? They're generating the excuses now, for why they lost. In their minds, they should have been a 3-seed facing a 14-seed, but the NCAA screwed them, so they're going to have to play an amazing 10th-seed Penn State. On top of THAT, they're going to have to play at 9:55pm, which is clearly designed to favor the Nittany Lions, who are used to playing later at night since they're on the East Coast. All of that is why they lost, not because their team sucked.
  11. All of the bitching and moaning about being a 7 seed, instead of being a 6 or 5 seed .... It amounts to basically having to play a 10-seed in the first round instead of a 11 or 12, and then either a 2, 3, or 4 seed in the second round. So fucking what? Win the games. If you lose to a 10-seed, your team sucks and you didn't deserve a higher ranking. If you can't beat a 2-seed, then your team sucks and you weren't going to win the tourney anyhow.
  12. The Athletic got bought by the NY Times. I imagine Texags had to dissolve their relationship with the Woke Media.
  13. I'm guessing he's trying his best to channel his inner Lou Holtz. "Aww, thucks, you look at U Th C over there, and they are the biggeth, baddeth, team I've ever theen. We'll be lucky to not get thutout by them.".
