  1. My friend was married for 15 years; wife insisted on separate accounts. My friend insisted on a joint account for house/bills/kids stuff they would add to equally. Problem was the wife never put jack shit in the joint account, and always had excuses (need this $500 outfit, I just got a pay cut at work, you make so much more than me, etc). So my friend is paying for 95% of the house/bills/kids stuff for 15 years. Then divorce, because she was a lying, cheating whore. During the divorce settlement paperwork phase, he discovers she has been lying to him for 10+ years about her salary; she had loads of money. She still got almost half his shit. In summation, fuck wives and marriage.
  2. Must be one of those cool new cold brew coffee makers that doesn't heat the water first.
  3. lol. A medieval peasant farmer normally worked sunrise to sunset 6 days a week and many did some heretical work on Sunday after mass. the average US full time worker does about 45 hours per week, not even close.
  4. Do you already have a TR? That's what you start with.
  5. That may be true for the public portion, but restaurants/bars have their own rules. They can still be held liable if a minor gets drunk from the drinks purchased by the parent, so most restaurants/bars don't allow it. I only worked at one bar that allowed it, and that was only because the owner was skimming half the profits and didn't give a shit what we did as long as cash was coming in. (Shuck N Jive on Greenville/Lovers in Dallas).
  6. Post less. That leaves you more time for sister fucking and free family septic tank cleaning.
  7. Yes, it's called the Parental Exception, been around forever. But it only applies in private residences. Doubtful he would get fined, but it's not legal on the beach. I know this because when I waited tables/bartended, at least once a month we'd get some shithead father come in who assumed this rule applied everywhere and would demand that we serve his underage kid because he was buying. Usually ended with a manager visit.
  8. Like I said, my cousin only told her he would need to charge her after he saw how much work it was...which she was fine with. And it wasn't just a "PC/Router" issue. He spent many hours over 2 days fixing/configuring/explaining all the tech shit in her house she had fucked up or didn't understand, plus he had to come back twice over the following week. You want to donate days of your time to family? Cool, have at it. Some of us value our time, especially our free time. Don't fucking act like we're shitty family members because we choose not to gift our free time to family members who can easily afford to pay someone for all the work they want done.
  9. Oh fuck off. You and your inbred family want to keep giving each other free labor and handjobs? Neat. STFU and don't lecture the rest of us who aren't poor trailer trash. My BIL owns a large commercial landscaping company. Not for a second would I consider asking him to come fix my yard for free. My older brother does expensive custom woodwork. I would also not ever consider asking him to spend one of his weekends designing and building me a new fireplace mantle if I just paid for the wood. My older sister is a dentist. She would laugh at me if I asked for free dental work. So again, go fuck yourself with the "free family labor" shaming attempts.
  10. You want this area. Do some shopping in Santa Fe, but I wouldn't spend a lot of time there.
  11. Schwab makes wine now? They are really branching out.
  12. Being rich is not a power. If you pick X-Men, you don't get stuck in a wheelchair.
  13. Also no reliable laser targeting. Laser shots fired by ships or individuals can easily be avoided.
  14. Only rich t-sips use that fancy french stuff.
  15. with ketchup? That's disgusting
  16. uh no. Lung capacity is reduced according to depth. If your lung compresses to the size of a pinto bean, you die.
  17. I doubt any employer is going to open himself up to a lawsuit by suddenly switching their employees' hourly pay to $2.13 from minimum wage. The employer would first have to prove/document that the employee is receiving more than $30/month in tips ($20 in Texas); if all the tips come from a tip jar or a shared counter register, who's to say what was doled out to each employee?
  18. Fuck tipping counter workers. Are you gonna bring it out to my car when it's ready and clean my windshield? No, you're not. You're gonna spend 15 seconds ringing me up, turning around and handing me a bag. And you deserve $3-$6 for that? Fuck that shit. I delivered pizza and chinese food during HS and freshman year at UT. I can't count how many times I would run up 4 flights of stairs in a scary apartment complex to bring someone hot food 20 minutes after they ordered, just to get stiffed. You want tips, go fucking earn them.
  19. Who is the arbiter of that? Say one employee walks in the door at 5pm to replace another employee who was on since 11am. There is $50 in the tip jar. The first employee is leaving, so the tips are pulled out. Does the 2nd employee deserve 1/2 of that tip share? 1/4? Zero? Should you let a couple of stupid 17 year olds fight over it? Or as the owner, you make that decision? It's "hard to enforce/prosecute" because AFAIK, there is no law against the owner doling out cash from the tip jar as they see fit.
  20. uh, it sounds like this is one of those "Tip jar on the counter" situations. None of the employees are paid as tipped waitstaff; they all get minimum wage. I'm curious what federal or state wage law this attorney thinks is being broken? Which law says "cash in the tip jar must go directly to the employees and the owner can't touch it". Now if the employee is presenting a printed bill to a customer with his ID on it and the customer puts a tip on the card/bill, that's different, as the employee is expected to pay federal tax on those tips.
  21. My cousin was working for a tech support/PC repair company at the time. He told her he would need to charge her if it took more than a few hours, which she agreed to. Do you demand that your sister fucking mechanic cousins fix your Chevy Luv for free? Or do you pay them in crank and BJs, as per oklahoma law?
  22. That's great if you live close or have spare time to help. Depending on the month, I live 4 hours away in Austin or 25 hours away in Mexico. These are my standard responses for tech help whenever my mom conveniently forgets how far away i am: Ipad/Iphone/Apple TV: I use android, I know zero about any Apple products PC: I only work on Windows Servers Router/Networking: I just plug it in and use the password printed on it. Anything else the Google Fiber guys fixes.
  23. My mom nagged one of my cousins for months to help with her Ipad/PC/Router issues. He saw how much work it was and told her he'd have to charge her, which she was fine with. That was 5 years ago and she still complains weekly about something he "must have broke" or "fixed wrong". If she can't find one of your old emails or she replies to the wrong person? He "messed up my email program".
