  1. Wells put in a pick for KJ Edwards to Texas. 65% confidence.
  2. https://texaslonghorns.com/sports/baseball/stats/2025 A few things that stick out when looking at the stats through 10 games: -Flores back up over .300 (.306) very quickly -Gasparino is at .220 but it feels like his at bats have been much better than last year for the most part -Chamberlain is 1 for 11 with 7 walks. He doesn’t look overwhelmed but not sure how sustainable that walk rate is. My guess is another DH option will emerge. -I guess you have to give Farmer everyday at bats right now (.286) over Winfield but I hope they keep Winfield in the mix at DH. -Duplantier with the 0.00 ERA because like usual he only allows inherited runners to score before buckling down -Grubbs has been awesome. -.217 batting average against for the entire staff shows how much better the pure stuff is on the mound. If I remember right, last year our batting average against ended up in the .260’s. -We are allowing almost one less walk per 9 innings compared to last year so far
  3. Don’t forget they gave him a lifetime contract a few years ago. No idea what it looks like to get out of that.
  4. Gerry: Two big recruiting notes OnTexasFootball caught up with two of the nations top prospects today. And the news is both good and not so positive. Texas and 5-star Tyler Atkinson … Multiple members of the Texas defensive staff are in a consistent communication with Grayson High (Loganville, Ga.) since the departure of area recruiter Tashard Choice. OnTexasFootball spoke with a member of the 6-2, 210-pounders circle today and the news for the Longhorns was positive. Atkinson remains very likely to make a June OV to Texas - as of today. Atkinson and family continue to have very positive feelings and thoughts about the Texas program. Texas and Javian Osborne … The news with the 4-star++ running back isn’t as positive. A person close to the recruitment has a feeling that Texas isn’t recruiting the DFW area back as hard as others. Texas running back’s coach Chad Scott has spoken with Osborne twice since being hired. Osborne has spring unofficial visits scheduled and to be scheduled to Michigan, Georgia, Miami, Florida State and possibly Alabama.
  5. Hopefully, we will work on finishing run rules at practice this week.
  6. Let’s get 2 right here and end it
  7. Third base defense is a problem and has probably cost us about 8 runs already this year.
  8. Winfield is fighting it bad.
  9. Over/under for this game is 19.5 runs. Ballpark is going to be a launching pad.
  10. Galvan day off and Rodríguez DH. Winfield and Borba in the lineup.
  11. It’s only going to get worse for A&M unless they just plan on overspending out the ass in the portal every year. We kicked their ass for the most part in the 2026 class in-state, including several notable H2H wins. Schloss’ best quality is he knows who to hire. Nolan Cain is maybe the best recruiting coordinator in the country and played 10x the role that Michael Earley played in building those A&M teams. Kirk Saarloos at TCU is another guy he hired who was a recruiting machine. Randy Mazey and Bill Mosiello got P5 HC jobs after working for him at TCU.
  12. They will smoke Rice and it looks like they get Texas southern in the midweek game before hosting New Mexico State and Prairie View A&M. So the rollercoaster is about to creep back up with some false confidence before SEC play.
  13. Schlossnagle has compared Volantis to Prager quite a bit. He looks like a front of the rotation arm maybe as early as next year.
  14. Yes, Oregon put in a reliever named Hody Coward and he gave up the lead.
  15. Washington was up 9-3 in the 6th and just gave up 6 runs. 9-9 bottom 6. Very little chance our game starts on time.
  16. Washington up 3-0 early on Illinois.
  17. Burton this morning. My guess is Neal Brown. While not revealing the name, I am hearing that a former Power 4 head coach from last season will likely be on staff as an offensive analyst and/or special assistant to the head coach beginning this spring. One source told me the deal was done but I can not confirm it with a second source as yet. And former head coaches can be notoriously wishy-washy about such decisions. So we’ll see if it pans out.
  18. The downfall of the Rice baseball program is a shame. I’m assuming Pierce will be coaching there next year but they may be at the point where the issues go a lot deeper than just coaching (no NIL, can rarely take transfers/JUCO kids because of academic requirements, etc)
  19. I expected higher scoring games this weekend with the way the ball carries at that park (I don’t think the 3 oppo homers by both sides all go out at a neutral night at the Disch), but it’s the free passes and errors that kill you. I could somewhat live with a 11-10 loss if they just out-slugged us, but we gave up 5 free passes the last 3 innings of the game.
  20. My guess is we will need outs from new faces tomorrow if we want to beat Tech. Guys like Moffett or Hamilton, who we still haven’t seen yet despite the fact Schloss has been hyping him up quite a bit. Probably don’t want to use Riojas, Burns or Dre til Sunday at the earliest.
  21. Goes back to what I said earlier. The first two batters that reached against him hit the ball a combined 90 feet. Guerrero hits a solo or two run homer and no one remembers his outing and we win 10-4 or some such. When you are up 9-1, usually just throwing strikes is enough but for whatever reason bad stuff just seems to happen to Howard and it snowballs fast.
  22. I would have left Dre out there but let’s see how this goes
  23. Howard shouldn’t be on this roster but the first 2 runners reached on balls that went a total of 90 feet.
  24. Buckle up for Cody Howard time
  25. That was a Las Vegas air homer. That doesn’t reach the warning track at the Disch on a neutral day.
