  1. Friend of a friend got to watch today: “Defense definitely won the day. Offense was pretty inconsistent throughout.” We will see if the 9.95ers agree.
  2. I can certainly think of more effective strategies than trying to recruit two guys against each other who talked about playing together and would be going to a school where a good number of WR snaps and touches will likely be available with Arch Manning throwing you the ball. Gerry has mentioned it several times and CTJ just said it too, but Ffrench doesn’t necessarily prefer close to family. I know we always feel like we are on the losing end of those preferences from kids who want to get out of Texas but it may be working to our benefit this recruitment.
  3. Most schools, including LSU, were recruiting him solely at CB. Texas recruited him at safety while saying they would give him a shot at CB first.
  4. 99% of what Geoff Ketchum writes is garbage and I would never bring it here, but I do think he makes a few somewhat interesting points when it comes to the NIL 'dead money' when talking about Fasusi
  5. Could have just donated that $4.99 to TOF. YouTube gets a 30% cut of those superchats.
  6. I've been wondering if they will get Drew Kelson on again. He and Rod have good chemistry. Kelson was supposed to do stuff with IT on YouTube but I haven't noticed him in a long time.
  7. Sorry, may not have been clear. The article is from Scruggs on 247.
  8. Texas 247 site posted the article below earlier today about Kade Phillips and Shea Dixon also mentioned on the LSU On3 site in a discussion about flips that if LSU was going to flip a prospect currently committed to another school, he would feel most confident in Phillips. From Jordan Scruggs (Horns247) LSU has continued to recruit Phillips behind the scenes since he committed to Texas on July 6th. Although he's listed as a cornerback by 247Sports, Phillips committed to Blake Gideon and Texas to play safety with the possibility that he could one day be moved to star or cornerback due to the athleticism, length, and versatility Phillips possesses. Texas was the only program among Phillips' 30 offers that pursued him to play the safety position, whereas LSU and every single other school besides Texas always recruited Phillips to play cornerback. I do see it as a possibility that Phillips could flip to LSU before early signing day as the Bayou Bengals will not be giving up on him at all this fall as they'll be "recruiting through the whistle". Up to this point I've felt as if the current group of commitments Texas holds has been pretty solid with their pledges, but upon hearing of the dialogue that's continued between LSU and the Phillips camp since the Texas commitment I felt as if it was worth it to get this posted on the board. I'm unaware of the defensive back board over at LSU, but depending on timing, I do think *if* Phillips were to flip to LSU then it could swing the door wide open for Texas and Aidan Anding once again. Again, I am unaware of the LSU DB board, but I do think there's a chance *if* Phillips were to flip to LSU, than Anding's spot at LSU *might* be taken which could make Texas the expected landing spot for Anding once again. Anding is still planning on making his decision before the season starts, so it would have to happen sooner rather than later if that hypothetical scenario of Phillips to LSU and Anding to Texas was to happen.
  9. I too believe we should be a run-first offense when we are 6 deep at WR, 2-3 deep at TE, return 4 of 5 starters on the offensive line, only have three scholarship RB's and have a third-year starter at QB. That screams pound the rock and play ball control.
  10. On3 had Kris Ross as the #62 player in the country and Jaray Bledsoe at #80 in the 2022 class.
  11. James Simon and Josiah Sharma got notable bumps in the Rivals ranking update. -Sharma up from 203 to 137 -Simon from outside the top 250 all the way up to 108
  12. 170-pound scatback who hasn't played football in 2 years and had to transfer from Baylor to Louisiana Tech is just what the doctor ordered. Nobody worth a damn without serious baggage is going to be available to add to this roster 18 days before the season. If they were, they would already have a home and not still be in the portal.
  13. If I heard Vogel right it sounds like the injury was when Clark was coming down jumping for a pass.
  14. The solution after a non-contact injury is to make other RB’s non-contact? If you try to tip toe around injury prevention it oftentimes just makes it worse. At that point just don’t even hand them the ball.
  15. I laugh at the thought of how much they probably had to pay to retain Rueben Owens because of his HS ranking, and they will probably pay up again this December even though he won't play this season. The dude had bust written all over him in HS and averaged 3.8 yards per carry his freshman year. Daniels and Moss looked better than him in every way last season.
