  1. OTF posted a note about it but there a strong support staff hire coming. Will help in multiple areas.
  2. He was committed to Texas under Pierce. Just doesn’t have social media so no one knew it was public.
  3. -We have not lost anyone of significance left. Galvan, Whitehead, Grubbs, Belyeu, Schuessler and Gasparino are probably the only guys I would lose sleep over if they left. -The two A&M decommits are class of 2025, so won’t be on campus until the 2026 season.
  4. Yes. Then give him an open checkbook to get the current players back and see if he can stick it to mean ole Schlossnagle.
  5. If A&M hires Earley, they will also try to get Caleb Longley to join the staff to "stick it to Texas", and see if any players come over. Earley and Longley coached together at Arizona State and are good friends.
  6. It’s not that complicated. This is the type of attrition you expect with a coaching change. The dude hit .209 last year. I’m sure he was in line to improve as a sophomore but he also probably isn’t trying to engage in a battle for his spot after starting 40 games last year. This is no longer David Pierce managing this roster man. The harsh reality is there are 20 Dee Kennedy’s in the portal. We like to get attached to our own players because we want them to succeed but the old saying of “they will bite as a pup” still applies to about 90% of guys. For every Jalin Flores breakout sophomore campaign, there are 50 other guys who dont break out. Flores also had much more pedigree and tools to work with.
  7. I’m glad we are moving on from an era where we spent days arguing about Dee Kennedy or Jack O’Dowd playing second base.
  8. Makes sense. These are the type of guys you lose in a coaching transition. Good potential but this roster needs to be turned over.
  9. Asking out of his letter of intent. Started his career at A&M before leaving for JUCO ball so shouldn’t be a total surprise. https://www.njcaa.org/sports/bsb/2023-24/div1/players/brandonarvidsonpt3d
  10. For a guy who is known as an amazing pitching coach, Skip hasn't had a good pitching staff in like 5 years aside from that 2 week stretch in 2022 when Cade Horton went on a heater. Their offense has carried them more years than not.
  11. Grahovac was giving positive feedback a few days ago but I was always a little skeptical. That one may have a few more twists and turns left as he is a California kid with basically zero allegiances to A&M. I do not think Laviolette will be a Longhorn.
  12. Holy crap some posters on the OU on3 site are reporting that Skip Johnson is telling people he is taking the A&M job hahahahaha. Please be true.
  13. It was believable until the part about an umpire asking him if he was okay while the coach supposedly yelled at him.
  14. He and Weiner have been trying to flip Rummel and McKernan for a while. I would think both would stick in the class.
  15. He was too busy having dinner with Schloss out in California
  16. I was having this conversation with a buddy last night, but could the argument be made that Schloss will have to put up with less external bullshit at Texas than A&M? That dude was in studio with TexAgs like 3 times a week during the season and always seemed to be going places to kiss babies or campaign for the stadium renovations or whatever it was. He definitely will blend in more in Austin and I don't think CDC will place all that extra stuff on his plate, which is weird to say because normally you associate the Texas job with all the extra stuff that comes with it.
  17. I hate when I am blindsided and accidentally sign a contract to work at a new school
  18. He apparently had the portal on his mind all year considering he didn’t play consistently until the last 2 weeks of the season. So considering he was prepared to leave that staff I’m not sure that bodes well for Texas.
  19. There is the pitcher who is already committed to Texas (Eli Trop) and then the Ivy League Player of the Year (Wyatt Henseler) who plays the OF and was committed to A&M.
  20. There is a chance this offense is lethal next year if they fit the puzzle pieces together correctly in the infield. Bergevin is a 1B/DH type most likely. If Grahovic comes he obviously slots in at 3B. Flores or portal at SS and portal or Kennedy at 2B. I think they are going to try to add multiple OF’s because there are so many good ones on the hook. Sorrell, Winfield (ULM), potentially Laviolette and potentially the Penn transfer who was previously committed to A&M.
  21. Sorrell and Grahovic are the two A&M guys I feel best about right now. There is a chance Laviolette returns to A&M depending on who they hire. I’m sure he is someone they will gladly pay out the ass for out of desperation.
  22. Keep an eye on this one. Committed to A&M earlier this month and is from Arizona where Earley has a ton of connections. https://fairfieldstags.com/sports/baseball/roster/matt-bergevin/6688 Edit: just saw OTF posted he is visiting Monday so he certainly isn’t being shy about his plans.
  23. It was Brauninger crying about how Schloss asked him to help the program by tweeting out game times and attendance stuff.
  24. To add on: That name cropped off at the very top is Justin Seely, who coached at A&M under Childress for 12 years.
