  1. One of Barnes last teams went 11-22
  2. Kaluma out for the rest of the game. Knee.
  3. My prediction for Friday: 1B Schuessler 3B Rodriguez SS Flores RF Belyeu CF Gasparino LF Winfield C Galvan DH Chamberlain (Borba if facing a LHP) 2B Mendoza SP Spencer That has us alternating right-left all the way through the order, which I think Schloss would like. Rodriguez batted second in the Alumni game so I'll assume they are comfortable with him up there in the order.
  4. Orphey was Jeff Choate's DB coach at Montana State, which is a connection I found interesting outside of him being a Houston area guy.
  5. That is one of the biggest collapses I’ve ever seen. LSU is so damn bad.
  6. OU is going to come open too. Miami, Indiana, FSU, Texas and OU with more to come. Will be an interesting carousel.
  7. Is Indiana a better job than Texas in this current landscape? No idea what their NIL situation is but I’m assuming it’s pretty good because it’s Indiana, but they also haven’t been consistently good in a long, long time.
  8. The 8th best team in the SEC could still be a top 15-20 team nationally this year. This conference is loaded. Everyone outside of Missouri has a the talent to compete and potentially do damage in a regional.
  9. Definitely a hot take. Turner scored double figures once in his last 10 games at Texas and Rick Barnes didn’t even want to play him by the end of the season. Johnson’s legacy will be much better than that.
  10. We’ll see. Our NET and Q1 wins will compare well with the teams we will likely be competing against.
  11. The bubble is looking extremely weak (seems to always be the case since they expanded the field to 68). My guess is 7-11 gets us a trip to Dayton.
  12. Beyond moronic to play Kent and Onyema together. Sparked this mini-run.
  13. Shedrick has played so much harder and tougher the last 2-3 weeks. Been a welcome sight.
  14. Good adjustment on Carey the last 7-8 minutes after he was Dennis Rodman the first 12 minutes.
  15. Nic Codie shouldn’t be having to play in these type of games
  16. Did the play by play really say Vanderbilt would storm the court if they won this game? There is no way I heard that correctly.
  17. IT We’re about to throw you for a loop on the DB search. In checking with my guy in the Florida market, IT does not believe Will Harris will be the new DB coach. In addition, it sounds like Doug Belk is content at USC, per someone in that market. And it’s not going to be Jimmy Lake, that never really made sense. When we ask around we’re not even sure this is a search for a safeties coach. It could very well be that Texas will simply hire the best DB coach it can find. The Horns have that ability due to Terry Joseph’s prior experience coaching the position. Before Texas, he was best known for coaching safeties at Notre Dame where he recruited and coached Kyle Hamilton. When he was hired at Texas, many had hoped he would be the safeties coach rather than corners. If Texas does go that route, beats the heck out of me who they’re targeting. Demetrice Martin at UCLA? That’s a pure guess based on his track record for recruiting out west and working with Sark at Washington way back when.
  18. Gerry said earlier this week that it would be another week or two
  19. I don’t think Scottie Scheffler is ready for an AD job quite yet
  20. IT We know Will Harris from Florida is in the mix. I just had my original suspicions (or educated guess) confirmed and hear Doug Belk is also in the running. Belk is at USC. These appear to be the top two but there could be somebody else I’m unaware of. I did have someone say they heard Jimmy Lake’s name but I just can’t buy that. Harris and Belk make a lot of sense. Either would be great. Harris being a SoCal guy is viewed as a positive.
  21. He'll be the main guy with Craig on the radio
  22. Karl Scott would be a walkoff grand slam with a bat flip that lands in College Station.
  23. *Keith Hayward....and that's an interesting option. Oregon State had one of the worst defenses in the country (110th is SP+, 112th in FP+), but their personnel sucked and it was the first year of a head coach that probably shouldn't have been hired. Hiring a coordinator as a position coach is always intriguing.
  24. Just my opinion, but the last thing we need in this sport is more judgment calls from referees or reviews.
  25. What is going to happen the first time an important player starts limping during a 4th quarter drive and feels the need to tough it out for his team, and ends up getting hurt worse? Will Lane Kiffin just trot out a walk-on and have him fall over whenever his team needs a breather? I see some potential issues with that rule.
