  1. Nic Codie is going to be playing at SFA next year. That knee injury really zapped some of the stuff that made him a top 60ish high school player..
  2. This game is probably a must-win for Ole Miss. 3 straight losses and another one tonight makes them 4-4 in league play and the second half of their conference schedule is brutal: Auburn twice, at Florida, at Vandy, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Tennessee.
  3. Hank South pointed out in a thread with the Keys offer that it was one year ago today that we offered Jaime Ffrench.
  4. Brian Davis said this morning that Beard canceled his weekly media availability on Monday. I guess he knew what questions were coming and figured postgame he’ll get more game specific questions.
  5. https://www.on3.com/teams/texas-longhorns/news/breaking-longtime-oklahoma-state-coach-jason-mcendoo-joins-texas-staff/ ^should be free to read. Former OSU assistant joining the staff
  6. Speaking of OL numbers, the fact we took 11 guys between the 2022 and 2023 classes and only 1 has transferred out is both impressive and, I guess, kind of surprising. Long gone are the days of Hayden Conner and Max Merril making up an OL class.
  7. Nahlin put in a RPM for Calicut (North Shore safety that Fong also RPM'd a few days ago). 60% confidence.
  8. Fong just put in Texas predictions for: https://247sports.com/player/jamarion-carlton-46135955/ https://247sports.com/player/felix-ojo-46146626/
  9. We are in peak offseason form if we have people talking themselves into believing a guy we offered halfway through his sophomore year, who has been on campus 5 times in the last 18 months and who we did a sit-down school visit with not even 7 days ago is somehow not at the top of our board. I wonder if a guy who is currently 275-280 at 17 years old with a dad who played DT in the NFL will put on weight when he gets to college. A real mystery.
  10. D1baseball's schedule analysis for Texas
  11. OU on3 update on Knowles
  12. Vasek is expected to miss the spring but will hopefully be cleared for summer workouts, per 247.
  13. I thought Buzz managed that game laughably bad down the stretch. Let Wade Taylor do an iso backdown the final possession which ended in a block and left two timeouts in his pocket.
  14. Fong put in a pick to Texas for this guy. 60% confidence https://247sports.com/player/chace-calicut-46146925/
  15. If A&M doesn’t trot 6 players on the court in the second at one point leading to the technical foul, do they win? Game of inches.
  16. Playing good defense is important, but it is also an offensive sport. You have to be able to score. Even guys like Beard have evolved and let there be more offensive freedom in their system.
  17. They are a generic brand Houston, and Houston always runs into problems in the tournament when they face a team that can score 70-75+, or when they come across an officiating crew that won't let them play a football game. At some point in a 6 game single elimination tournament you are going to have to outscore people and the safe bet is A&M will not be doing that.
  18. I was impressed we didn't force something with Tre on that last possession.
  19. IT Sark apparently caught a bug and wasn’t able to make it to Junior Day today. We’re just letting you know in advance of recruits saying they didn’t interact with him. He’ll have some ground to make up this cycle.
  20. Nic Codie sucks at basketball and we just left him out to dry for 5 minutes.
  21. Well yes, if we compare Max Wright to the #5 overall player in the country we are probably going to come away unimpressed.
  22. Per OTF: Schloss said today that Whitehead is a way out from contributing, and Grubbs didn't throw at all in the fall, so he is behind the other starting options (which aligns with what I heard). Spencer and Harrison were the first two names mentioned when he ran through the options for starting pitching. Said they didn't stretch guys out in the fall so everything was a short stint. They will have a better idea over the next few weeks on what the rotation will look like.
  23. We also had quite a few redzone turnovers that contributed to us coming away with nothing. I can think of at least 3 turnovers from Ewers (INT against CSU, INT and fumble against A&M). There may have been a few more I'm forgetting. We also took a knee inside the 10 against Florida to end the game. We only attempted field goals 16% of the time once we got in the red zone, which was one of the lowest rates in the country, so we went for it quite often. https://cfbstats.com/2024/leader/national/team/offense/split01/category27/sort07.html
  24. The one place I saw ‘UT’ referenced I believe was referring to Tennessee.
